My dog sitter had to take my French Bulldog to the nearest emergency room for breathing distress while I was out of town. This *************** VCA hospital was an absolute nightmare! They know that they have the owner over a barrel and feel free to extort as much money as they can because they know the owner is not going to tell them to let their pet die!Their invoice was full of duplicate charges and within an hour of arrival, they had a treatment plan that was estimated at $6400 for an overnight hospital stay. The grossly inflated charges included $80 for each and every blood pressure taken, $727 for a chest X-ray, interpretation, and sedation of an already sedated dog! Their charge for medications in addition to $200 for IV medications was $450 -- for 15 tablets of Trazodone sedative, and 9 tablets of Prednisone -- very common and inexpensive generic medications. There is absolutely no regulation against this kind of price gouging for anyone unfortunate enough to enter their doors. Their greed is unconscionable, and probably all too common for this industry.

********* Vet in ************* The manager put a credit on my account expecting Trupanion to pay them for a visit to the doctor but their office told Trupanion to send it to me Suddenly the credit turned into a debit and added to my Tinkerbell's account The manager and one desk clerk are calling me a thief and a liar but I do not owe this bill. I am a patient for 22 yrs and paid every bill from exam room to desk I am livid The manager threw me out of the office and ended my association with them and denied food for my cat with urinary problems. I am about to go legal I wish I knew the supervisor of this manager She is not a professional or a valid accounting manager Now going to another non VCA Vet *****************

It pains me to have to give even one star. Run from this place! They diagnosed my cat with Triaditus, after an unsolicited $965 ultrasound, and recommended a very costly medication regimen, which they offered a "discount" on if I got it through them. I discontinued the regimen, which required shoving a syringe down my cat's throat nightly and indefinitely. Months go by, no follow-up. No concern whatsoever! Then, at a routine checkup, (again no mention of the previously diagnosed Triaditus) they diagnosed him with tooth resorption, saying he needed a dental surgery costing upwards of $1,000. They said the trauma to the tooth likely happened early in life and he's been in immense pain for years. They said they would put him under and take **rays to "determine how many teeth need to be extracted". I said, "So you'll notify me when the **rays are done so I can see them?" Deer in headlights look on her face. Stumbling, mumbling. "**, no. We don't typically show the **rays, that's just how we do it here". Nope. I couldn't get my cat out of there fast enough. These people are criminals, and have no business being responsible for the care of our loved ones. Unbelievable!

*** (*******, ******)....where UNNECESSARY testing is their specialty!!My new puppy threw up one evening and had diarrhea the next day. I took him to *** (*******, ******).I expected an exam and a recommendation to monitor him for the next day or two (as indicated by their web site). Instead, I was charged over $1,800 for various tests. I was very upset at the time and agreed to EVERY test that I was asked to choose from...I was very distraught!Later, I was more composed and felt that I had been taken advantage of. I raised my concerns with *** (*******, ******)....but my complaint was dismissed. One of the fees included outside lab testing....remember, I did pay for EVERY possible test! The outside lab disputed the *** (*******, ******) test results. *** (*******, ******) administered the test again, which again was bad...they wanted to draw blood a third time, to which I said no!My experience and subsequent complaint handling with *** (*******, ******) were dreadful. They took advantage of me when I was upset, and I have no confidence nor any assurances from *** (*******, ******) that ANY of their test results were accurate.....they told me that false positives happen.Save your money and go to another veterinary clinic.

Animal abusers! Left my dog sitting in a cage for hours instead of notifying me the procedure was done due. Then would not hand my dog over until I threatened to call the police all in an attempt to get the last word. Have had nothing but problems with them and their criminal staff. A one star review is one star more than this dump deserves.

Zero stars!!! My German Shepherd is there now, I have no choice! He injured his belly a couple weeks ago and they stitched him up and sent him home with an inverted cone that he tripped over and did not keep him from licking his wound. He hasnt ran or jumped for 2 weeks and his stitches busted open. The stitches are about and inch apart!!! If it was done correctly, this wouldnt have happen. $1200 first time and now they want another $1000! Really??

BEWARE of VCA animal hospital care for your beloved pet!I had no idea veterinarians were dishonest, but I found out differently. I am 85 and my beloved Cavalier is my comfort dog!! These participating veterinarians prey on the fear an owner has. My dog Chewy had blown one **** gland. Very painful for her; for myself, OMG what will happen to the poor dog. Of course, VCA produces their Care Plan at just the right moment to peruse--a 2-page breakdown stating a complex plan *********** just save you money, etc. Chewy also had an ear infection that needed medication attention and "several teeth that NEEDED to be extracted.I paid the enrollment fee of $49.99 gladly, but paid no monthly amounts. Now, I could receive my estimate for work to be done with all these savings. WOW this also included microchip i.d. insertion, and data bank coverage for your pet. I was moving to the city, and my Chewy is a high value breed. As of today, *************** Animal Hospital received from me $1,595.67. I owe my last (2) installments on the promissory note I signed. Thus far $977.00 has been paid by me. Sept and October, VCA will receive from me $244.25.Medication pricing is doubled. Home Again for Recovery told me the number I was given was not known. ***** of Far Country firmly stated "July 10th this was completed for Chewy." "She could do no more", but gave me the number for ****** in VCA Care Plan's *********** office. ****** informed me, "he could do nothing." Call Home Again or ***** again...round and round we go. I told ***** at Far Country I was moving out of their region. ***** refused to confirm my info; she proceeded to say I still owe a whole year of payments. Called ****** at the L.A. VCA **************** to notify him of my leaving service area--He harassed me refusing to make a note of my move. To protect myself from this harassment, I told him I would not speak to him. ****** called my phone 14 times in a row. Next to Small Claims Court.

Be weary who you allow to care for your dog. Should anything go wrong, its the dogs breed that is the cause, not the accident itself. The person(s) that are in charge will never admit to any wrongdoing, just blame it on the breed. Hows that for prejudice? It was decided before it was over, because my dog is a French Bulldog, the clinic that caused him to almost die has no responsibility for what they did to him. If you have a French Bulldog, its their fault for any harm someone may cause them. Theres absolutely no accountability for the person(s) that caused the harm. Hows that for justice? Easy peasy for the referee overseeing the case in a court of law.

Unfortunately I had to Euthanatize my dog spice as her collapsed ******* was getting worse, causing her to faint while walking around. The process at the hospital itself was ok. ***************** was amazing, however the payment process left much to be desired.Prior to Spice passing they advised the cost was $740, to which I accepted. After Spice had passed, I paid and left. Lo and behold, I'm contacted a few days later advising there is still a balance of $250 outstanding and the cost had actually been almost $1,000.00.While this isn't the end of the world, I didn't appreciate being told that I had to settle the remainder within the next 15 minutes otherwise Spice's aftercare ***************** could not continue. I explained that I would be fine to pay the remainder when I come to pick up the urn in a few weeks however this wasn't good enough for them, despite making the error. The only thing they had to say was "sorry". It's already a difficult time without getting this slap in the face.I won't be returning in the future and encourage you to look elsewhere.
