I rented an electric car for the first time and had to download the EVgo app in order to charge. Most of the charging stations were not accepting cards so I initiated the fast charge option. When I returned the rental car I noticed my credit card still being used. I reached out to EVgo to cancel my account and still received two additional charges. I was told thats on you for not deleting the car from the app. I didnt know I needed to delete the car from the app. I assumed because I was going to be using the tap to pay from my Apple wallet there would be no reason to charge my card. Well they were not nice and actually hung up on me when trying to explain. Im out of $65. I will never use EVgo and I would advise no one to ever use them. Most of the stations do not work and sitting for an hour to charge is ridiculous.

Hello from the Detroit Metropolitan Area!EVGO should be renamed MAYBEGOUnreliable, slow, often offline or temporarily closed. Horrible maintenance of stations, incompetent maintenance contractors, horrible configuration of charging stations, short charging cords, no overhead canopies, fully exposed to rain, snow. **************** is outsourced to *****, customer service is very poor. The last customer service representative I spoke to was smarmy, condescending and ignorant. GM should be ashamed of their affiliation with this horrible company. EVGO is a con and a fraud.

The EVGO charging station at *************** in ****** ********** has six chargers. For the past two months only two have worked. Ive called customer service a couple times and keep getting the same pre-written message. Were working on it. EVGO keeps posting stories about how great they are, and what theyre gonna do in the future.. They are in bad shape. They cant even fix whats out there now.

EVgo places a 30 dollar hold on your card for 2-3 business days just to charge your car. Car charges cost me around ***** dollars, so I don't know why they hold 30 bucks for so long. As an uber driver, I may need to charge 3-4 times a day, so up to $120.00 of my money stays locked up.They say you can order their special gas charging card, but it takes ***** business days for you to get it in the mail, after waiting 2 days for them to actually send your card. So for 3 weeks, you will have to deal with them holding onto more of your money than you spent to even charge the car. If you call them, they will lie and say your bank needs to release the charges, when your bank isn't the one who placed the hold. If you're reading this, and you have to charge your vehicle, don't use EVgo

The charging stations in the ****** *** ***** area, are complete garbage. There are at least two locations that have 4 plus stations that are just always down. It does not matter what the charge rate is, or is supposed to be. They stifle the charge regardless at their discretion and charge the same ridiculous rates 28c a kilowatt!!!! That's insane, when the average kills watt charge (kWh) is freaking 11.9. I thought ***** was bad at 16c after midnight!!! This is actual highway robbery. On top of that, they have the nerve to charge a subscription fee while they are fully aware that the greedy sons of ******* (The honorable *********) charges a state tax for doing the right thing by moving society progressively forward off fossil fuels! This is insane! They even tax it at the same ******* tax rate as anything else to top it off. So let's do math..... let's say you ride share for ***** and charge your vehicle 3 times a day. It takes over 55 minutes usually to not even get an 80% charge at even at the minimum rate of 28c (which has to take place after midnight to recieve!!). Remember, keep in mind the AVERAGE kwh in ***** is freaking 11.9c. That is highway Robery!!! When you charge 3 times a day, at 3 hours charge, that's over 36 dollars after the ******* sales tax a day!!!! Wtf?!?!? Might as well buy a gas v8 truck and run over all the ev stations since they don't work anyways so theyre forces to ACTUALLY REPAIR THEM. And pay the fine for the destroyed property!!!! This is insanity!!!! It would literally be more cost efficient, and I'm pretty **** sure a ***** judge would laugh and force them into a settlement over this ********. Like for real? Your charger doesn't work. Over and over and over again? Even though someone just left the charging station!!!!! Like just pulled out!!!! Literally and we sit around waiting an hour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A ******* hour with ZERO COMPENSATION AND GET TOLD GO FIND ANOTHER BROKEN CHARGER. THIS IS CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AT ITS FINEST.

I've been without access to my account for a week and the only thing customer service tells me to do is reset my password and wait 24 hours to access my account again and they don't give me a solution so I can access my account again!

The log in issue with the customer's account was fixed today. We have emailed them and advised to log in and back out. We also issued a $25 for the inconvenience.

I rented a ***** Bolt, all of the charging stations were either too hot to charge, broken, offline or some other reason.I spent more time looking for a charging station that worked. So I returned the vehicle for a GAS car. This was on 08/19/2023. On 08/25/2023, I got an email stating I had started charging the car. WTH! Contacted support. Support finally sent an email stating they would not give me a refund due to me already removing the car from my acct. That's fraud from evgo and the driver that rented the vehicle after I did. Be aware everyone of this fraudulent business.
