I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding Amazon KDP handling of a dispute related to the temporary removal of my independently published book (ASIN: B0DJGCZBQ8) from their platform.More than 1.5 months ago, Amazon removed my book due to a copyright claim filed by ****************** After receiving the claim, I took immediate steps to resolve the matter in good faith. I communicated directly and cooperatively with ******* legal team, revised and resubmitted my book after addressing all flagged content, and ultimately received written confirmation from ****** that they had submitted a retraction to Amazon. I have attached screenshots of this communication as evidence.Despite this, Amazon continues to refuse reinstatement of my title, stating they need further confirmation from the claimant. I have made repeated attempts to clarify the situation and provide all necessary documentation, but I have received only generic responses and no clear resolution. I have invested considerable time, money, and effort into producing a fully original educational book that complies with all copyright standards and was even registered under a ***** trademark.This delay is affecting not only my professional reputation but also my livelihood. I am ******** O. O. Okampa, an internationally published author and sole owner of several literary works distributed through Amazon KDP. On February 14, 2025, Amazon terminated my KDP account without due process, failed to provide a fair hearing, and froze access to my earnings. Despite providing a valid government-issued ID (Nigerian ***) in good faith, Amazon rejected it without offering alternatives or appeal options.They continue to withhold royalties earned from legitimate book sales without explanation. Attempts to communicate from my registered email ********************** have been stonewalled. One Amazon representative, ********, stated they cannot assist me further, nor forward or acknowledge my appeal. Their actions violate ethical business conduct, breach basic contract principles, and result in unjust enrichment at my expense.This is not merely a customer service failure; it is a serious matter of financial deprivation and intellectual property mishandling. I had my book published in beginning of February this year. I have waited until now the end of May and I went to go see what my numbers work they were abysmal. I want to know more about what's going on. so I start looking can my book be easily found? What I'm finding is you can only type it in in the search bar to find my book. You cannot go looking for it under category like a new reader would. Which means when I got my marketing it did not work because it wasn't there in a new category in the book categories for a new reader to look at to be found so I got marketing for something that was not out in circulation. Circulation Amazon direct publishing for Kindle and paperback and hardbound promised they would do. I have done five to six emails today trying to get them to address the issue instead they keep talking about what you can type it into the search bar and find it that's not what I was asking how was the new reader going to find my book if they don't know who I am?And send me getting angry I decided to stop and file with you because I'm getting frustrated and I'm not getting an answer and I feel this person has no reading comprehension and I'm getting close to insulting them. I opened a *** account to have ********************** sell my books. They allowed me to open the account with the help of Vanity Publishers and list my books. I have had a few sales when I received an email to validate my identity. I followed the instructions and received an email stating the validating was completed. I then received an email today stating my account was terminated. We will close your account.- You're no longer eligible to receive outstanding royalties.- You'll no longer have access to your account, meaning you will be unable to edit your titles, view your reports, or access any other information within your account.- All your published titles will be removed from sale on Amazon.Meaning they would keep all royalties. To add insult to injury, they are still selling my books and keeping all the royalties. They have done this to multiple authors and offered no recourse. I am filing this complaint regarding the termination of my Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) account without adequate explanation or *************** account, active since 2019, has supported educators and classrooms with global-themed educational content. On April 29, 2025, Amazon KDP abruptly terminated my account, citing "manipulation of services" without providing specific details. Despite repeated attempts to get clarity, I have received only vague, repeated statements that offer no actionable information or opportunity to resolve the alleged violation.I have repeatedly asked for a specific explanation or a way to correct any inadvertent error, but Amazon refuses to provide further insight.
