On August 2,. 2022, I received an email stating my brokerage acct. was restricted. I was asked to provide a picture of my social security card. I did so. However, I was informed that my account has been deactivated and this was a final decision. I tried moving my funds to my linked bank account but was unable to. I had to contact customer service several times before I was told that my funds will be available after their remediation process occurs. case #******** It's now been 21 days and I can't get any answers. It's my money. I put it on there and I do not owe anything. They will not tell me why my account got deactivated. I just want my money transferred to my linked bank account. ***********************In Robinhood's response, it refers a case number for me to review. However, there are no links or any way I can access to review the case number. Everytime I send an email or respond to their email, I am given a different case number. It's very confusing. The response is a pre written customary response letter with no real information. I have emailed them to inquire how I can access the case number but I was given another case number and told to wait.Initial Complaint

Robinhood has prevented me from being able to access their customer support phone line. I am being denied equal access to support. I feel that I am being discriminated against based upon my previous interactions with the company and feel that this retaliation against me for seeking help is unacceptable.I tried using their "chat" feature but was constantly left hanging by bots and non-helpful associates who continuously re-routed my issues to other departments without any resolution.I have sent emails asking for a fix and am being refused.Business Response

Ive been moving my banking systems around to shift from NFCU to Chase. I make attempts to link the Chase account to Robinhood and it asks me to provide a bank statement for the Chase account. I send the bank statement with the name ********* ***********************, my name, and later received an email saying it was declined because the name did not match the Robinhood account name written as *******************************. They dont ask for middle name when making an account so I did not provide one. I resubmit my statement reassuring them my account name is correct. Later that day the automated system restricts my entire account preventing me from using any features including bank transfers or my card. I check an email and says that I should contact Robinhood. After hours of dealing with numerous Specialists and not having any method of directly communicating with their review team other than email through their specialist. I still dont have access to my account when I have provided them with every piece of information they needed, to include Bank statements from both my NFCU and *********** Passport ID, and a facial recognition scan from Robinhood. I should not have to resort to borrowing money from friends/ family just to eat or get to work because an automated system no longer decides I am worthy of accessing my own money and the company decides take the most ridiculously lengthy process to restore access to my money.Business Response

Client with business since 2015. Recently attempted to log in and was prevented from doing so. Received email from company demanding "uploaded selfie" and form of federal ID to access account. Given recent complaints on BBB in regards to this very demand and reports of ID theft, refused this demand and requested phone or other communication for access. Form email response with no resolution. Cannot access funds. In original terms of agreement from 2015, nowhere is this a requirement for fund access. I received an email august 16th at 3:17pm titled, "Your brokerage and crypto accounts are restricted". I am told that my account is restricted, I can only sell my stocks, crypto, and transfer my stocks to a new brokerage. I am contacting BBB Since I have asked multiple times for a statement detailing the date, time, and what exactly was broken under the terms and conditions to have my account restricted. They do not have a direct phone number you need to open a chat a request a call back. Once restricted I can no longer request chats thus I cannot speak to them. I have been emailing ******************************* to try and get an answer to my inquiry. On 8/17 @ 9:58am I sent them an email stating, "I am unable to call into your support, or make any chats. Please let me know why my account was banned from your platform. It has not been stated in any email, call, or chat I have received. If I am only temporally banned please let me know when this will be lifted. At this point I am unable to create a new chat or request a call on your application. I appreciate your time and honesty" (********************* Email). On 8/18 at 3:38pm I got a response from stating, "As I stated before, the decision is final and binding. There is no option to appeal this decision" (representative named **** sent via email). Which tells me I cannot appeal there decision and its final yet they never told me the decision, why, and how long it lasts. Big picture I opened a chat saying I could not trade a stock since it was frozen stock named ALTO. It was right after a large volume dip and I was unable to place an order. I sent a screen shot to them. They said, "it must be a glitch". No this is a FTC violation and I'm starting to think thats why I got banned. If you read this entire thing I appreciate your time. As of now I have transferred my money out and my stocks. My crypto is sitting in my robinhood account.Business Response

Please let's not send the entire message i sent you. Instead send what I have written below as my rejection notice. Please send me an email updating my compliant # stating that I have rejected there response today 8/26/22. I greatly appreciate your help through out this.I contacted BBB (complaint #********) to ask RH to provide the exact reason, date & time my account was suspended, but most of all for how long it will be suspended. The response is telling me to, "Please review case number: ******** at your convenience as it contains all the information pertinent to the concerns brought forth in your BBB complaint" (RH response 8-24-22).My case # within Robinhood is telling me that my account has been suspended due, it does not give an end time. It does not give an exact reason of why it was suspended, or when an action occurred to suspended me. Most of all in my Case # within Robinhood it does not state when the suspension will pause and my account will be reinstated.
