      Hello,
For the past few years I have been getting oil changes, new tires and brake work at the Big Brand Tire store on Broadway in Santa Maria, CA.
The last time I had brake work (@6 months ago), I was quoted over their website 125.00 an hour for labor -- I supplied the parts. After the work was completed, the front desk tech said their labor rate doubled. I was upset, but paid and left upset.
Last week on 01-12-24, I called and spoke with M****** to get a labor rate for an oil change, tire rotation and front brake rotor and pad replacement (I am supplying the parts). Michael quoted me 95.00 for the oil change and tire rotation. He also told me their hourly rate is 125.00 and it would be one hour to change the front brake rotors and pads. I said OK and scheduled the work for this morning at 8am.
I showed-up on time and asked the front desk tech to confirm pricing on the work. He said their labor rate was over 200.00 an hour, not 125.00 and would not honor my quote over the phone with M******. I left the store and will never go back to their "Bait and Switch" store again. I live 30 minutes away, so not happy about paying for the gas either.
I got the feeling this morning that they may be going out of business at the Broadway store. The parking lot sign is gone, there are no tires in the display room and they just don't seem to care if they lie to you about fees.
N******* ******** is their Customer Service Manager and will find a way to contact him.
Thank you BBB for the assistance and letting me vent!
      D***-

Went in there because my check engine light came on. After multiple visits and payments over 1400 we found out from another shop that it just needed a new battery they insisted I needed a new engine the entire time it was just a battery

This company is absolute trash. Don’t recommend.
They “overhired” and then had to fire everyone. Just so they could put up “now hiring signs”
I’ve dealt with a lot of angry customers but working for them was even worse

I so passed with this company!Wow! Go to Big Brand for a simple oil change. I drive off in the Jeep and you name it..every indicator on the dash is lighting up! Oil light. Check engine light. Jeep wont accelerate...Radio is out too! I go back, they check stuff out again and gave me some bullshit story that something is wrong with a sensor under the manifold. $700.00 to fix the problem. F...k this! Nothing was wrong when I came in! I'll never go there again!??

If I could give 0 stars I would. I will never be going back here or to Big Brand every again. I brought my car there months ago and was charged $1,600 for a bunch of work on my car. After I received my car back the AC was still making a screeching sound. I brought my car back to Big Brand and after 3 hours they told me I needed an entire new cooling fan and system which would be $650 more dollars. They also wanted to charge me for another air filter, which they had replaced & charged me for the last time I was there a few months back!! I picked my car up without paying and low and behold... the screeching sound was gone AND STILL WANTED TO CHARGE ME $650. They never once told me they couldn't hear the screeching sound, or that it had stopped, they kept insisting I needed to pay more money for something they had fixed.

Took my car in to have them look into a sound my tire was making. Came out with an estimate for almost $5700 worth of work that thy said needed to be done, including a rack and pinion replacement and said I should have the work done ASAP. Immediately took it to my regular mechanic who spent a day lookin git over and told me NONE of the things they said needed to be done ACTUALLY NEEDED TO BE DONE!!!! I know they job is to upsell but that was pure BS and in my opinion fraudulent.

Made appointment online last week for an oil change and tire rotation. Had to enter vehicle information as part of the process, I assume so they would know what type and weight of oil to use and also what filter. Seems logical. Plus I indicated that I'd be waiting for the car at their store which might indicate to people with common sense that I did not expect a long delay or extended visit for such a simply maintenance item. So I get to the location at the appointed time today and as they are checking me in they tell me that they do not have the necessary oil filter in stock, but they can get it in a hour or so while I wait. So, my wait time has now increased by at least an hour. Oh and I was told that if I were ordering tires their system would check inventory, but not for an oil change. Sure I get it. For a $600 - $1000 tire expense their system does what it should do, but for my $100 oil change (a ridiculous amount by the way), the system does nothing. I guess it's OK to waste my time, gas and effort by not having what is needed in stock when the revenue number isn't high enough. I took valuable time out of my day to drive over there and get this done and done promptly, but it is OK for Big Brand to not have the simple parts available even though they had many days to prepare for this. NOPE! Oh sure, people do cancel their appointments so getting parts could end up being for nothing, BUT.... my time, effort and gas is not free.... so perhaps Big Brand can pay me back for wasting my time with it's sad business practices and computer systems.

Took my vehicle in due to a lot of mechanic issues that was done by the company. The company quoted me an outrageous price, for parts that I have life time warranties on. I've paid this company thousands of dollars to keep my vehicle up and running. For them to turn me around or refuse me services is pretty steep. I'm disable, unemployed, and a single parent. I can't believe that several of locations have treated me so unfairly throughout the years. I thought they were in my best interest of assisting me.

In 2019 a Company that Big Brand Auto bought out replaced my radiator and hoses with a lifetime parts service and installation on the job. All three failed on february 3rd 2023 I called Big brand( formerly C&R tire ) and they informed me thst they are no longer honoring lifetime warranties as of January 2023. I cannot believe this company isnt honoring warranties for their customers like this.It seems very dishonest. The manager said he understands that it doesn't seem fair but he finished eith "I really want to take care of you but my hands are tied" as if he was conceding that this practice was unconscionable. After his final determination that they refused to help me I was forced to have the costly repairs done at my expense at another shop. I have a family so I had no choice but to get this done immediately. I feel as there is no integrity nor honoslr in what Big brand has done to us and we are actively looking what our options are for recourse.

I had my car in for a repair after checking around local shops in the area. I have Mechanic/Automotive shop i have been going to since 2015, but were unable to do repair-which would need timing of Engine done to complete the repair job of engine leaking coolant/antifreeze(water pump likely bad). When the action of setting the timing of a car's Engine is done, it must be done PROPERLY, or it can cause SEVERE engine damage!!!
Unfortunately, the Technician who does timing at my local Auto shop ive been going to since 2015 for several repairs/routine maintenance, had passed away recently. So i shopped around..
I got several bids for the job, one ridiculously higher than the others, the rest very similar in price. I ended up going with Big Brand Tire & Service as were 2nd cheapest but ALSO seemed to know what were talking about & ALSO mentioned that there may be a small hole/seal that gets overlooked with this type of leak. So again, seemed more knowledgeable.
I drop my car off on a Tuesday, repair to be done by Thursday...wasnt done until Saturday. I drove car home that day, 2 minutes away, no problems or leaks. Then i drive it Sunday night, make sure is ok for work 75 miles roundtrip. It leaked all over garage floor as it did prior to repair. I took back in, they worked on it, determined bad water pump(as My Mechanic suspected; hence timing needed to be set to complete repair). Now mind you, i ADVISED ALL shops i took car to what MY MECHANIC was diagnosising leak to be, including timing set/possible bad water pump.
So they worked on it that Tuesday, repair to be done Thursday again..i stopped by shop Friday morning after work Thursday(3rd shift)when i didnt hear back(thankfully i had rental IN CASE car not ready as before)once again not ready til Saturday, but they tell me the timing was off a tooth r 2. Not only that, but i am being charged RIDICULOUS hourly rates($160) and overly priced parts on a car with 137k miles. I did research and no reason for such price$
