On March 2nd 2024, I contacted home warranty services to get more information. The representative was so pushy, making me feel that I did not have an option, the representative said my house was gonna be red flagged and that Ill be never able to obtain a warranty if I hung up. I ended being pushed into paying the company 289.00$. A few days go by being able to calm down a collect my thoughts. I realized that I have been swindled. I called customer support to cancel. They said no problem, someone will call you back go to cancel. I called 3 times on March 5th to cancel, but no one called me back. I got a call a few days later and they said that I bill is due. I told them I canceled it. They demanded that I pay for the next month. I answered no, and they said they woudl send a bill but there would be a late fee. I want this cancelled and for them to stop calling.Business Response

On March 16, I discovered that my elderly and ill father, for whom I have the *** and who was sent relentless mailers by this company, was ultimately lied to being told that his "home warranty was about to expire" and that he needed to pay money for the service. He has never used Home Warranty Services. On Feb. 22 he paid $295 "deposit" based on inappropriate and unethical practices. On March 16, I called the number and was sent to a nondescript voicemail. I immediately sent an email noting that the account was created improperly, requested an immediate refund and a request to please close the account. I have since called the number and have not had a resolution. The following week, I left a voice mail and sent another follow up email. I've contacted our bank and now am filing this complaint and the only expectation is that the funds be refunded and that my father be removed from any future contact lists.Business Response

I am requesting a refund and guaranteed cancellation of services. I received a letter in the mail which looked like they partnered with my mortgage company. I called on 3/12/2024. They were ****** pushy when I called and informed me that I had to put $$ down or the plan will expire. They informed me that I will have to pay $100 now to hold the warranty but I can call back to cancel after I review the documents and if Im not happy within 30 days. I called back a few days later on 3/15/2024. They have you contact a voicemail overflow company which collects your information and forwards it along. They said someone will call me back in two hours. I received a call from ************ the lady didnt want to cancel my service and when I asked to please cancel it, she hung up on me. I called the number back and left a voicemail message. The called the original overflow service number and placed another request to have someone call me back in two hours this is very horrible service and disappointing. I feel like this is a direct reflection on how they handle home warranty services. If its this difficult to cancel service, can you imagine how difficult it would be to request service?Business Response

In Aug of 2023 my father bought a home warranty service from Home Warranty services. We canceled the purchase in the ***************** Aug of 2023. Well they took out 3 mons. SEP,OCT, AND NOV. WE are still waiting for the ****** refund from the company, and they keep telling us we mailed out the check. Well it's now 7 mons. And calling to no avail. The billing department saw that we canceled in Aug and stopped the company from taking out anymore money. Billing department said to us they have to formally receive a cancelation notice in order to send out a check. Nevertheless, billing never received any cancelation from them, so their hands are tied. Contract # is HAS10526408, Name on contract is ***********************. Thank you in advance ******************** Ps, we never received any paperwork from them. I received a final notice stating that my home warranty secured through ************** was expiring or about to expire. Thinking I had a warranty already, I called and spoke to a Miss *********************** whom stated that I needed to extend my warranty. She then proceeded to explain what was covered under the warranty as well as the price for a 12 month and a 18 month plan. After choosing the 18 month plan which required a $295.00 deposit. My card was charged immediately. After further review I found out that there was no home warranty secured through ************** on my behalf. I immediately called the number several times and tried emailing to cancel the transaction but through no avail. I even called my bank to stop payment but nothing they could do right then. A guy finally called me back the next day saying that someone would be by my residence soon to deliver a package. I then proceeded to tell him that I didnt want this service and I wanted to cancel and to give me my deposit back. He then asked me why and I told him that I didnt need it; he still asked why and I told him I didnt want it. He then got very rude and proceeded to tell me that they were out to make money. He tried to intimidate me into getting this service that I stated that I didnt need or want. He got very angry and told me to let him talk. After stating that if he didnt cancel and give me my deposit, he would be talking to my lawyer. He then said my service was canceled and that I would get my deposit in 48 to 72 business hours. I asked why so long and he said thats how long it takes. Why so long when it only took a few seconds for them to draw from my account. I didnt get this guys name and he got me so upset that I didnt ask. Very unprofessional and argumentative. Im still waiting for my refund to be deposited into my account. This company uses unfair tactics to try to get you to retain their services. Very disappointing.Business Response

My mother who has a large brain tumor that makes her mentally incapable signed up for a home warranty with this company. They keep calling her and telling her she owes them $280.00 and she is adamant she did not sign up for a home warranty. I called them and gave them my power of attorney paperwork as they asked and told them to cancel her account, explained her brain tumor, and that she doesnt even own the property where she lives. I was told they cannot cancel the account until we pay the $280.00. Because my elderly mother does not remember signing up for this service, she will not pay. I believe her contract should be terminated and the money she owes them needs not be an issue.Business Response

I received a phone call from a lady that gave me details on why I should get this insurance to help cover appliaince repair or replace ot them. She oulined a contract that I agreed to, but when the information came in the mail, it was more than doubled the amount I agreed to. I have made mutiple phone calls and have been told someone else will call me back in 1-2 hours to cancel this service wiith-in the 30 day period. According to my credit card statement, it shows that they withdrew $295 out of my account ******* *******. I feel this company is fraudulant in their sales presentation, as well as their unwillingness to contact me! I am an 88 year old senior who feels that this company is taking advantage of me. My elderly mother, who has Alzheimer's was sold a home warranty. I have called multiple times since July 2023 to attempt to cancel this service. I have emailed the power of attorney documentation to the company twice now, and I can still get no resolution. Each time I call I am told someone will call me back, and I leave my information. I have had one person call me back and she told me to send the *** which I have done and never heard back from them. She has been charged $224.62 cents for over a year for services she did not need or understand. She was preyed upon by this company. They have the service set up to autopay so she is still being billed. I just called the company again and was told someone would return my call. I need help getting this cancelled so we can use the money to help pay for her care. I am a senior citizen with a home repair loan through SBA and this company called and led me to believe they were with SBA and needing to walk me through an insurance policy for my home. When my bank flagged the 2nd and 3rd charge attempt they made, I started researching and realized that this company misrepresented itself intentionally to scam me. I called asking for a full refund and they routed me to some call answering service and never called me back. I will dispute charge with my bank.Business Response
