On Aug. 19, 2022, while in a dentist's chair at Western Dental *****, and numbed with novacaine, I was presented with a bill on an iPad for future services that included a crown. This was my first visit to the clinic, and none of the charges were broken down or explained. I was told that if I paid for all of it at that point there would be a discount. I gave the receptionist a credit card. The charges were $3283 for deep cleaning, periodontitis medication and a crown. At home later I reviewed the billing breakdown and found added charges of $312 that I was told a few days later were a mistake. I told the receptionist I did not want the crown because the clinic could not use resin, only the insurance-uncovered porcelain. The amount that should have been reversed immediately on the credit card amounted to $2098. After calling billing, I was told it would be up to 50 business days before the process could be completed and the amount refunded. I attempted to speak with a supervisor and expedite the charge reversal, with no success. I merely want the amount credited to my card account. Thank you for anything you ay be able to do in this regard. Sincerely, **************************************Initial Complaint

It is very frustrating that they just brush you off and tell you , you just have to wait we dont know whats going on ? Like how can you guys treat a customer that way it is unacceptable and very frustrating at this point I want to switch dentist but it is too late as I am done paying off my braces but still my teeth are not how I would like them !Initial Complaint

I had a root canal done at western dental at ************************************************************. The root canal was done wrong and caused some type of knot or cyst high above the treated area in my gums. I went back to western dental 3xs asking them to fix the problem that they created and they told me they dont do retreatments (even though they accepted fault and acknowledged the problem) I have been suffering in excruciating pain every since. They have prescribed me pain killers multiple times but they refuse to touch it. Im asking that they please rectify the situation. No other dentist is willing to treat someone elses prior mistake. Please help!Initial Complaint

About a year ago in July I had made an appointment for a follow up with Western Dental which I hadn't had a follow up done in about a year or so. I had xrays completed on my teeth and I was also talked to about braces which I ended up agreeing to. That same day they put on the braces before any deep cleaning/ any other important dental work was done. I thought nothing of it because I never had braces before. I believe I was told I needed multiple fillings, 2 root canals, and wisdom teeth removed. It wasn't until a family member of mine who also works in the dental field was shocked to hear that braces were placed on me before a deep cleaning was done or any other services that I needed were provided. I was also told after my braces were already placed on my teeth that because of something about the way my teeth looked in the xray, they could end up loose/wiggly which if I was told that beforehand I would've weighed other options before deciding to go with braces. All that aside, I made an appointment on 08/02/2022 for a cleaning. I ended up getting xrayed again and was told I needed multiple fillings, 2 root canals, and my wisdom teeth removed. I was then going to set up an appointment for a cleaning and for my fillings but was told that I was "flagged" and I am now being charged $1400-$1700 and until that payment is received I am basically getting refused service. which by the way my insurance covers my cleaning and fillings. I wasn't even given a full set of braces. I currently only have braces on my front teeth. This is negligence on the part of Western Dental.Initial Complaint

I went in for two teeth to be removed. While sitting in the treatment chair in pain due to infection with instruments in my mouth someone (they wore a mask) asked me to sign a contract for the work which included teeth removal ,putting in posts and ceramic (or some such material) replacement teeth. I asked how much this would cost and she clearly said $1100. which would be paid in monthly installment. I thought that was affordable and was happy my insurance would the balance. On that visit they removed one of the two teeth and put in the post. They could not remove the other tooth due to infection. Latter on the next visit they did the same procedure on the other tooth. It was about that time I received a bill from ************** for around $35.00. About a week later I received a bill from Western Dental $5000. I was shocked and called them and went in to their office to tell them I was not expecting the $5000. bill. They said that I signed a contract. All subsequent visits were to check on the healing. I asked them to stop all new procedures until I knew what I was going to do. Why would I stop the work with two post remaining uncovered ? Would not I have them finish the work and then not pay? Please see the Yelp reviews on this office!Initial Complaint

I took my dad to the dentist to get some implant treatment, the initial price was that it was a one time payment of $8,000, however I would later be informed that if I paid off it would be a little over $6,000. When it was time for his his next appointment, I was told told that I owed another $7,000, I was completely surprised. I was never told about a second payment of any kind nonetheless after much discussion I agreed to pay an additional $5,000 for treatment. I had to pay at least $200 before I left because I did not have that kind of money to spend and was not expecting to pay any more money. A week had gone by On Monday August 15th, I received a phone call from the corporate office collection department telling telling me that I owed them a payment of $700 plus dollars because I was behind in my payment. I informed the gentleman who said that I was on a recorded line That I would make a payment the next time I go in with my dad to make sure there are no more issues like the 1st time. The gentleman on the phone told me that if I was to make a one time payment of $4,070 the dollars, my debt will be paid full and no more payment would be required. I agreed to the payment offer and provided my debit card information. After the payment was processed and I received a notification from my bank. I requested a RECEIPT. He said my account would show paid in full that I would be able to get a receipt during my next visit. Imagine how surprised i was to receive a phone call from their collections department on the 18th requesting me to pay $700 plus dollars for an outstanding debt. This matter was paid in full and debited from my bank account on August 15th., I spoke to the representative sounded like same person who made the deal with me on the 15th. I requested to speak to a Supervisor and that never happened. I was told a Supervisor would call me back within an hour, that never happened. Unacceptable treatment I want this matter done with and staff training.
