On June 9th 2024 I saw an add for simple app on ******** and decided to give it a try. I agreed to a monthly subscription of $10 that said had a 30 day money back guarantee. I clicked yes to the 10 dollar charge, saw the charges go through my bank. After that I was asked lots of questions about me by the app. To get started something showed up saying do you want the workbook for $36 dollars, and I clicked out of it, Im not sure how I did but it was gone. Right after that the same thing popped back up that I just clicked out of. I was very confused as to why it was there again and I thought perhaps I did it wrong the first way so it clicked out if it another way, it was very confusing. Then my phone pinged another charge to my bank for $36 dollars for something called the simple workbook. I did NOT agree to this willingly! I found the number connected to this company through my bank it is ***************** and called a couple of times. At first it seemed that I could actually speak to someone, but after a little while, it referred me to an email address and hung up on me. I called again with the same result. The recording even said they are experiencing a great volume of calls and to hold the line only to have it hang up on me over and over. So I emailed the address given over the phone. I sent them this The app was very confusing and misleading causing me to accidentally purchase a simple workbook that I DO NOT want. Please remove this from my account asap. I do not wish to be charged for this at all. I then received email confirmation that they got my email. By morning June 10th I received an email that my subscription was canceled. Along with another email containing the simple workbook download. I will not download because I am afraid this whole this is a scam. I contacted Apple and there is nothing they can do because I seem to have purchased it outside if apple. I didnt even know you could do that. So now I am out $46 and have ****Initial Complaint

Transaction occured around May 8th, 2024. I attempted the app as I was intrigued by it and it's statements to help improve health. However, once I tried the fasting it suggested while on the free trial, I became sick as I have multiple medical conditions that I cannot go that long without food. I attempted to cancel the trial but it stated that I did not have a subscription. I looked in Paypal as that is where I signed up, and it was not registered for me to cancel it. At this point, I assumed that it did not go through. However, a few days later (May 8th) I was charged $29.99. I emailed customer service requesting a cancellation and a refund as I was unable to cancel it. Per policy, **********************************************, I have to do as the app suggests every day for 7 days and prove that I have before I receive a refund. I cannot physically do 7 days of this. The company is now refusing the refund. I understand the policy but I physically do not have access to the account AND I have medical conditions that prohibit me continuing with program.Initial Complaint

I signed up for a trial period of Simple. I cancelled prior to the end of the trial period, and was still billed $29.99 on Jan 21st. I again contacted Simple and asked for a refund. No reply. On April 21st, I was charged $59.99 without my consent (was charged to my PayPal account). I have contacted Simple several times requesting a refund for both charges and the "Simply" refuse. This website is a scam and a fraud. They make it impossible to cancel and just keep billing.Initial Complaint

Signed up for introductory offer, and did not opt for auto-renewal. Stopped using the app within a few days. 3 months later (this morning) I saw a $59.99 charge come through on Apple Pay. I immediately cancelled the subscription and notified Simple Life via email for a refund. This all happened within 10 minutes of the transaction. Simple Life had refused to refund my money.Initial Complaint

In 2022 I did a trial membership to Simple. I had not renewed it or authorized a renewed subscription. Out of the blue on 10/14/2023 Simple charged my debit card via Apple Pay for $79.20. I have notified my bank and they are investigating the charge, but said I need to reach out to Simple for them to rectify the situation directly. When I reached out, they said they have canceled my membership, but would not refund the money. Instead they have me as an active member to their program. I stated I never authorized this membership or gave them permission to charge me for it. They are no longer replying.Initial Complaint

I chose to do a $1 free 1-week trial of the Simple intermittent fasting app. Then it offered me a substantially reduced price yearly subscription and I decided to try it, there being a further "cancel within 30 days if not satisfied guarantee." Then I was charged twice. The next day when I noticed the double charge, I emailed them and said that I did not request anything additional and please remove the second charge. A week went by before they responded, and they said that they would not refund it because it was for "workbooks". I never requested or downloaded the workbooks, and I never used the app. I emailed them back immediately saying that I wanted to cancel everything if that's how they did business. I was told they would not refund me because I hadn't met their criteria of using the app for two weeks "without seeing results." Firstly, that's ridiculous, because using the app for two weeks would be longer than the initial "trial period" of one week. Secondly, I did not see results because I wasn't interested in their app after they charged me for something I did not want. At one point they offered to refund $21 of the $92 that they got from me, but that email went to spam and I didn't see it within their response period so I received nothing back even though I reqested a full refund immediately after purchasing the app and NOT requesting the workbooks for an additional charge. I have the email exchanges to prove it. Shady company, bad practices. Looks like I'm not the only one scammed from the other complaints here.Initial Complaint

I signed up for a trial with Simple. When trying to log in to cancel my trial, the app could not find my email. I could not access my account to cancel, and now they are telling me I cannot get my $79 back. The requirements to get a refund are absurd. I could not access my account to cancel a charge, and now they are telling me I cant get a refund. This company is predatory.Initial Complaint

I asked to do a free week trial for $1 to see if I like the app and the way it works. An hour later I told them I dont like it about an hour later and to not charge my card and they already charged me for the 3 months and the extra for premium. So it was about $80. I messaged them 10 times and they wont refund me. I want my money back. It was not approved to charge me anything but the $1.
