I signed a contract for solar panels and battery back up in April of 2022. Installation finally commenced in December of 2023. As of this writing in April 2024, the system still is not functioning. The installation team has made more than ten visits to my home, for which I have had to stay at home all day unable to go to work, run errands, or take my kids out to do something. Half of my garage is taken up by unused materials from Sunpower. There are unpatched holes in the side of my brick house where they cored in the wrong location. Where they passed conduit through the walls of the house, they did not seal. I can see daylight through my walls around the numerous pipes. It has been this way for months. My project coordinator has been completely unhelpful. She sends an email every two weeks, likely prompted by some software, telling me she is going to let me know what is going on with my project. When I ask her any questions, she tells me she will ask someone and get back to me. Many times, she never does. Weve tried calling Sunpower to speak to someone else in hopes of getting answers. At one point, we were given the number of our project coordinators manager. We called him, he promised us things would be taken care of. They obviously have not been. A subsequent attempt to call him revealed he had blocked our number. To be clear, we have always been professional and respectful in our communication. I don't know why our number would be blocked. A subsequent attempt for answers from customer service resulted in them telling me my project coordinator would call me - even though I explained to them the project coordinator was unhelpful and I was trying to get answers anyway I could.I don't know what to do at this point. At no time has Sunpower been apologetic or made any effort to make things right. I was told my case was being prioritized, only to hear nothing for the last three weeks. We are really just at a loss on how to resolve this.SunPower Corporation

DO NOT THINK ABOUT CALLING AND SIGNING WITH THIS COMPANY STAY AWAY!! Our first project coordinator was amazing she would non stop contact me and let me know what was happening. One day I get a email that ***** will be taking over and thats when the nightmare started.. its going to be a year that we have the system on our roof and it hasnt been turned on!! One day I lost my cool and wrote a beautiful email to ***** to let me know what was happening because my power company had sent me multiple emails wanting proof and I didnt know what was going on so ofcourse ***** didnt even bother to answer until 3days after the email was expired. Every time I ask him what is happening his answer: let me contact the team and thats it goes on for weeks with nothing until I have to email him again asking to call me asap! Hes only called me once to let me know sorry your system is oversized we have to downsize. As always its the same excuse and no moving forward. today my husband called him and finally he picked up his line because he didnt have my husbands number saved. So ofcourse first thing we did was ask for a supervisor or manager and first thing he did give me a second and hung up the phone. Called back he started making excuses oh my manager this that until he gave me a fake email to his manager and few mins later he calls my number letting me know oh this line is recorded this is my managers correct email and he will contact you today until end of the day and its already 9pm Im still waiting for his managers call or email.If you have another local solar company please run or if youve signed with Sunpower and have ***** as your project manager RUN!!SunPower Corporation

I am submitting this review strictly about SunPower's customer service. My issue started in February and it was related to an equipment issue. The company that installed my electric panel on my home failed to tighten (torque) the mounting screws properly resulting in arching of electricity inside my panel which in turn caused the breakers to blow out. Because of the nature of electricity, the issue was, in my opinion, a possible dangerous situation that I thought should be addressed with urgency. So after an independent electrician and 2 SunPower inspections, the situation is still not settled. The dangerous arching was fixed but the snails pace of reimbursement for the electrician as well as the inconvenience of no solar power for 2 days has really soured my opinion of SunPower. Now there is an issue with several solar panels generating significantly less energy than the other panels. With the ******* heat right around the corner, My panels will not be generating at the full potential and I feel that the customer service of ********************** is tremendously lacking any kind of urgency. If the system works as it should, there wouldn't be any problems but the customer service I have received has begun to give me buyers remorse. SunPower needs to do better.SunPower Corporation

Do NOT buy your panels from this company! Their system constantly has bugs with the app not showing information properly. Anytime there is a technical issue the customer rep straight up tells you there's nothing they can do about it. One time my solar panel stopped working and there was no way for me to have known unless I checked my app manually??? Zero notification that something was wrong and who knows how long I could've gone without knowing. It took 3 WEEKS just to set up an appointment and then over a month later for someone to come in-person to see what's wrong. All meanwhile, 2 different customer rep said some sort of compensation can be discussed after the situation was resolved. Of course when I called after the fix, the different rep said they can't do that with 0 effort to make up for the inconvenience. I don't expect perfection but it's just a constant pattern of never being able to do anything for you and not improving anything on their end. The fact that I have to call them every other month regarding a new issue is very telling about the quality and performance of their solar panels and software.SunPower Corporation

SunPower is worthless. I'm trying to refinance my HELOC loan, and need a subordination form, which is a temporary removal of the lien against my house by sunpower. They do not have a form for that, instead they insist I fill out their refinancing my home document, and note that it's for a HELOC loan. I've contacted them five times and said I'm not refinancing my home. And every time they tell me you're not feeling the form out correctly. You have to get a signature from the escrow company. Which doesn't exist. Thanks to them, I've not been able to secure a three-point drop in my HELOC loan. And I'm so angry I can't even see straight.SunPower Corporation

Sunpower is over billing and cannot justify or provide the reason for billing (potential fraud). The last Sunpower rep I spoke to for almost 2 hours said she has no idea about the bill and to allow 2 days (my initial Sunpower follow up was in writing sent weeks ago and finally I had to call) for them to investigate. In addition, I received an enormous ********************* last year and slated to get another large ********************* this year despite the fact I live in a new house with energy efficient appliances, do not have an EV, pool, etc. Also asked how do I know the solars work and Sunpower's rep referred me to the app, which still is unsettling considering my life style would not warrant such inflationary costs passed on to me and perhaps other customers.At any rate, Sunpower seems to be having financial problems and I hope their objective is not to visit those fiscal problems to its consumers.SunPower Corporation

i have had a very poor experience with sunpower. I had solar panels put on my roof and they have not been working for months. The squirrels ate through my wires and when I asked for service it took them months to even come down. Every time you call they say that someone will call you back which they never do. The squirrels did so much damage to the roof that we eventually had a flood. We paid out of pocket and asked them to fix the panels which thry did not. They have awful customer service and I would never recommend them to anyone. I plan to terminate my lease with them.SunPower Corporation

WORST COMPANY Since I first had this system installed November 2022 they stated all the delays would be at the fault of the utility company and the city inspectional services.This was so far from the truth. The panels were installed finally in like February 2023 because they ran out of panels which they also stated would never happen because they actually make their own unlike other companies. So around June I started getting notices from the bank about being charged for the panels. I told them I'm not paying for them as they are not even hooked up yet. They stated they were going to start withdrawing anyway not their problem. I continued to contact the ***************** they began telling me it was the inspectional services fault from the city. City states they applied for the permit but never paid for them and ********* never followed up nor did they send anyone out. Not until I threatened to pull the plug on the entire project. Finally got the panels wired to my panel and the city inspection only took couple days so did the power company process. February 2024 Panel stops functioning. I contact ********* after a long discussion they tell me a third party repair company will come and inspect the panel not working. I should hear from them in 5 business days. Month later Im still calling and filing open cases. After looking at the app online I see they keep closing the cases sayin they have been resolved. They even state to contact ************** who is their subsidiary company for some reason. I have all the screen shots and emails BTW. ********* states they just sold the system, ************** installed it so its their problem. I contacted ************** and they state its a sun power problem. Every day is costing me money as I am paying for panels that are not producing power. BTW the App has a function that you click the panel that is not working it shows contact info you hit contact...send the email and comes back with an error message non monitored mailboxSunPower Corporation

My elderly father has solar panels sitting in his driveway for a year and a half because sunpower installed knowing he had a 30 year old roof and assured him that installing them before replacing the roof was not a problem. There was not supposed to be a cost associated with taking down the panels and reinstalling after the roof was replaced. It has been 3 years since we agreed to a price for sunpower to remove the panels because our roof was falling apart. They then quoted a price $10000higher to be paid for them to put our panels back on.SunPower Corporation
