Ive had the Oportun credit card for about 2 1/2 months. My first online payment went fine. This months is causing me anxiety. My due date was Saturday and apparently that is a bad thing to pay on a Saturday if thats your due date. I received an email confirmation that the payment was successful, yet as of today (Monday), when I log in it shows no payment was made. Its no longer pending and its also not posted. I called this morning and spoke to someone who assured me that if would likely post by tomorrow (Tuesday) but if it didnt, I should call back and they will take care of me and I wont incur any fees. Which is fine, I can wait and see what happens. Fast forward to this afternoon and I get a voicemail from Oportun regarding me not making my payment. Otherwise known as an important business matter. I call in again to the number they gave me. Im assuming it was a legit number even though it was different than what I called this morning and what was listed on the website. I explain again to the person who answered that I made my payment on Saturday and it seems to have just disappeared. She again explains that I made my payment on Saturday so it wont show up until tomorrow. If this is a known occurrence, shouldnt there be a process in place to keep customers from being harassed about payments they made on time but happened to be over a weekend? And shouldnt there be a way to see the payment reflected online even if it didnt post yet? I am still not convinced my payment hasnt just disappeared into thin air. It hasnt posted to my bank account yet either, Hopefully my on time payment will post tomorrow the way everyone says it should. But the fact that I am receiving collection phone calls shakes my confidence. And this is certainly not something I want to worry about every month.

Most likely one of the WORST organizations to deal with. For OVER four years my elderly parents have gotten terrible customer service and duped by sneaky tactics to payoff an accounts i personally settled in full for them. Just recently discovered they continue to attempt and collect more money after so many years. Our mistake was NOT asking for a "payoff" letter or "settled in FULL" letter from them. I WAS SUGGEST RUNNNING AWAY FROM PREDATORY LENDERS such as OPORTUN.... seems they almost always targeting lowering income, disadvantaged populations. DO NOT recommend giving this company business because their dishonest practices. they will ruin your credit.Oportun, Inc.

After dealing with false information on my credit reports, I became sad and suicidal. This is harmful to my health and a defamation of my character. Late payments are unlawful and shouldn't show up on a consumer's credit report. In accordance with the requirements of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, I request that you delete the inaccurate late payment(s) from my credit report. Because of the way your companies operate, I have been stigmatized and denied opportunities that might have benefited my life immensely. I'm taking this to federal court until you immediately change this to reflect payment in accordance with our agreement.Oportun, Inc.

I have making arrangements to this company and everytime different assistants have different answers like they work with different system or idk but they want me to pay more when I make an arrangement with them and they don't respect that and like I said all time they have different answers they don't care about customers any more like before company getting worst every dayOportun, Inc.

This company gave a loan to a my husband in my name with any verification of who was electronically signing for the loan. Now he has not paid the 30% interest rate loan and my credit is trashed. This company owners should be in jail for allowing this to happen. They have no caring about who's name is on the loan as long as they get their money. Run away as fast as you can!!Should be 0 stars.Oportun, Inc.

I have had a really awesome experience with this company. They have been very flexible and have allowed me to postpone payments when needed. And I'm not paying a lot in interest. The staff has never not been friendly. I recommend them to everybody. I will use them again if I ever need to.Oportun, Inc.
