On March 8, 2025, I bought a phone and paid $506.73 for shipping, tax, etc. The order is promised to ship within two days; shipping was $17.99 for 3-4 business days. I received an email a few days later than that. March 11; We have encountered a delay in shipping your item(s). We apologize for the delay and will continue to work on shipping your order as quickly as possible. An e-mail notification will be sent to you once your order has shipped."I contacted them to inquire about the order; I was notified that it was not available to ship yet. Upon further discussion, they said they had no such phone in stock and hoped to receive that model soon. The reason for the delay should be clearly outlined: "We don't have that phone available." If the product isn't available, this should be stated when purchasing. There was no notification or disclaimer that they would not hold/collect funds if this occurred, but they charged my card ********** a consumer this is crappy practice. This complaint will be investigated confirmed and nothing else will occur. Kind of a shame this BBB exists only to hear feedback when the vendors aren't even investigated or held liable. Kind of just a community of complaints.EcoATM LLC

Hello ****,
Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent order. You contacted our team on March 11th regarding a delay in your order placed on March 8th. After reviewing your order, we found that the device did not pass our inspection and was subsequently placed on backorder. While the device was initially available for purchase, we adhere to strict quality standards and could not ship a product that did not meet our expectations. We provided you with the option to continue searching for a replacement or cancel the order, and you confirmed that you preferred to cancel. Your order was successfully canceled, and a confirmation email was sent to you. Regarding your refund, please note that processing times may vary depending on your credit card provider. Refunds typically take 7 to 10 business days, but we recommend reaching out to your credit card company to confirm their specific refund policies. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to contact our customer care team.Review fromSamuel S

Brought my iPhone 13 Pro Max to EcoATM in *****, ** Wal-Mart 6 days ago. Other companies offered $450 for the phone but I needed the money ASAP so I took the loss and used EcoATM where I was offered $251. Once they took the phone their machine malfunctioned and I only received $130. Contacted the company where they gave me a claim number. Have contacted their customer service several times. They take forever to respond. Their response is waiting on supervisor to respond. Then it takes an additional 7-10 business days after the claim is approved to receive a paper check, This is an error on their behalf and they should be resolving the issue in a timely manner rather than just say they are waiting on supervisor. I want my payment or my phone back. I already took a loss using the company to begin with. This is very frustrating.EcoATM LLC

Hello ******,
Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your recent transaction. We understand that this may be a frustrating situation. The pricing of each device on our website and app is based on the make, model, capacity, and condition of the device. You contacted our team on 2/17 to report that you did not receive your payment and requested the funds to be sent to you. We advised that your claim would be reviewed. On 2/22, you requested to speak with a supervisor, and we advised that someone would follow up with you. We sincerely apologize for the delay in getting back to you. We attempted to contact you by phone on 3/7 and requested that you return our call. Unfortunately, we were unable to reach you via email, as our messages were marked as undeliverable. After further investigation, we confirmed that you were paid in full, and no technical errors occurred during your transaction. Additionally, we reviewed two subsequent transactions, and both customers received their full payments. As a result, your claim for additional payment has been denied. Please note that all sales are final, and we are unable to return your device. If you have any further questions, please dont hesitate to contact our customer care team.Review fromStephen B

I sold my iPhone 11 and the kiosk worked great. Never had any trouble like other people are saying. My guess is people are trying to sell items that have balances still owed or the items are just junk and they expect top dollar for junk. I give it 5 stars all the way.EcoATM LLC

Hello ****, thank you for reaching out regarding your recent transaction at our kiosk. We understand that this situation has been frustrating, and we appreciate your patience as we work to resolve your claim. You contacted our team on 1/29 regarding your Apple iPhone 14, stating that the kiosk had binned your device without your permission. We requested the **** of the device, which you provided on 1/30,and we flagged the device same day. You reached out on multiple occasions requesting payment, and we advised that once the device was located, we would review your claim for payment. Your claim was escalated for further review on 2/11 as your **** provided was not showing received at our warehouse, and a representative contacted you regarding the matter. You informed us that law enforcement was at the kiosk, but our agent was unable to access it, as it was offline. Upon reviewing the **** and serial number you provided, records indicated that the device was an iPhone 7, not an iPhone 14. We requested the correct **** for the Apple iPhone 14, but you were unable to provide it. As a goodwill gesture, we offered $20 to resolve your claim since the transaction record did not specify the device type or quote amount, however you declined the offer. At this time, we have flagged the possible barcode sticker placed on the device to confirm if the device is received as we do not have the **** for the device initially stated was binned. If the device is received at our warehouse we will gladly review for payment of the device. We appreciate your patience and understanding throughout this process. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our customer care team.Review fromKadajah G

I had returned a iPhone 11 Pro Max 64GB (Unlocked) through the mail with ***** I've returned it the beginning of December, and its already the new year and i still haven't received a refund from them. Its been delivered at their warehouse for far too long already where they'd be able to process the return and refund me. But every time i try and contact them they come but with a shady response to make me wait even longer. This is totally unacceptable customer service from them. I cant tell if they are butthurt that i went with **** to buy a phone at a much cheaper price and returned the phone i bought from them, but something like that shouldn't matter to them. They should always do what right. I excepted better from them.EcoATM LLC

Hello ********,
Thank you for contacting our team regarding your transaction at our kiosk. On 9/7, you visited our kiosk and sold two devices. You contacted us to advise that a third device had been stuck in the kiosk. Upon reviewing the transactions and logs at the kiosk, our team was unable to identify a transaction with a technical error. You advised you heard the phone drop in our machine. We requested the **** for the device that you advised was stuck. You requested to speak with a supervisor and were transferred accordingly but disconnected the call before speaking with a supervisor. We did not receive the **** or receive replies to the emails sent to you. On 12/10, we offered a payment for the device in question. This payment was approved you on 12/11. This check was processed and shipped to you on 12/17. Please reach out to our customer support team if you have any further questions or concerns.

I submitted three near perfect condition items, and there were so evaluated so grossly inaccurate that it can only be pure incompetence or ********** of the phones an iPhone XS, was identified incorrectly as a iPhone 13 mini. It was also identified as having an existing balance, which would be illegal for them to buy my phone per their own rules.I made a phone call support request identifying and requesting my items to be returned. Unfortunately no action was taken. I had to myself go into the system to specifically request the items to be returned. On an initial validation offer of about $450, they falsely evaluated it at around $70 total.I have the original apple boxes for each including the serial numbers of my specific devices I sent. If the specific devices are not returned to me according to policy that is blatant theft. This company started as a good one years ago, and has since turned into a complete scam company that should have a class action lawsuit against it at this stage.EcoATM LLC

Hello *******,
Thank you for contacting us regarding your transaction. We try our hardest to offer the most accurate prices to our customers. Our warehouse received and inspected your devices on 11/18. Our team found that one device had an unpaid balance and two devices could not hold a charge. You reached out to our care team because the inspections did not align when your expectations. The team found that the devices within your transaction were swapped with one another, further complicating your inspections. Our team offered a re-inspection of your devices and escalated your request to our processing team. The re-inspection was completed on 11/20.
Our reinspection results were emailed to you. We found the following:
For transaction SR00318077445, the original device was an Apple iPhone XS 256GB (Unlocked) and switched to an Apple iPhone 13 Mini 256GB (AT&T). During the evaluation, our team found that your device still carried an obligation to the carrier. Due to these issues, your offer was lowered from $101 to $10. For transaction SR66736771587,the original device was an Apple iPhone 13 Mini 256GB (Unlocked) and switched to an Apple iPhone XS 256GB (Unlocked). We found that your device could not consistently hold a charge. Due to this issues, your offer was lowered from $227 to $63. For transaction SR41298519574, we found that your Apple iPad 5th generation 9.7" 128GB WiFi + 4G LTE Unlocked could not consistently hold a charge which lowered the offer from $26 to $0.
You declined all three revised offered on 11/21, and we returned all devices on 11/22.
If you have any further questions, please contact our support team.Review fromJames L

My phone was stolen in ***********, LA - just after a Saints game as i was walking back to the parking garage a few blocks away from the superdome. I've been tracking it. It was shipped via *** Ex - and ended up here .Called *********** responded by sending an affidavit. But after well over a week since I submitted the affidavit, they have stopped responding...I believe that was just a tactic to keep me thinking they were going to help or send the phone back long enough for them to determine if they could use the phone or if they were going to sell it to ******Ultimately - my phone ended up in *****, just North of *********. Now I am getting texts from ***** telling me to remove it from my Apple account - because they cant use it unless I do. THAT AINT HAPPNIN... lol Looks like a ***** Stolen Phone Fencing Operation to me - the local police or *** should shut these guys down. I suppose we don't pay enough tax dollars for all that? :(EcoATM LLC

Skeezy business practices and useless customer service.I reached out and spoke to **** at least 5 times and got 0 help and they lowballed my offer despite my phone being in perfect condition. I have no doubts that if they do eventually send me photos (after a month of promising and not delivering), it'll be of a different phone. The bigger problem is that they have consistently lied and done nothing that they promised. So disappointed and disgusted with this experience. Not to mention I bought a phone through them just before and it has a 1in scratch on the bottom of the screen! Standards? I'm sure.1. I sold my phone to gazelle and they lowballed my offer by 25%2. I ***lied to the offer email, but the response email address doesn't work.3. I spoke to customer service about sending photos because my phone was in perfect condition when I sent it and they promised to send photos and reassess.4. Another email with the lowball offer, no photos or explanation.5. I reached out view the response button and they say 3-5 business days for a response...no response.6. Another email with same lowball offer, no photos or explanation.7. I sent another message '3-5 business days, we'll get back to you.' no getting back to me.8. I call in, get a *** and they tell me he'll make sure it gets taken care of and that I should wait for a response and I don't have to worry about accepting/declining the offer because I'll get an extension.9. No extension and they auto-accept the offer and send me the lowball offer.Still no response. There are plenty of other companies to use to trade in your phone - this is not the one.EcoATM LLC

Hello ****
Thank you for reaching out to provide feedback about your recent transaction. We apologize for any frustration faced during the trade-in process. We try our hardest to offer the most accurate prices to our customers.Often, we end up finding small scratches on the device from the case, around the camera, and/or sun damage to the back of the device. On 11/12, we informed you of the trade-in results and advised you of the lower amount that was offered.
We reviewed your claim and transaction information and found that a clerical error led to a delay in providing you the pictures requested before your device was auto-accepted at the lowered offer. Because of this issue, our care team approved the full origional trade-in value for the device. For your records, the picture was emailed to you on 11/12. Our finance team has confirmed that your payment will be issued 11/14, and should be seen in your ****** account within 48 hours. Thank you again for allowing us to make this right for you. Please reach out to our customer care team if you have any further questions or concerns.
