If I could, Id leave a negative number. This company is so unethical, money hungry, and just downright cruel. Instead of helping people, they wait until theyre so far under and then they shut their electric off, telling the customer in order to turn it back on, they need to pay over a thousand dollars. People are struggling, what is wrong with this company! Greed, greed, greed! Someone needs to be watching them and what theyre doing to people. They have no conscience whatsoever.

****** has to put on the brakes on what is SDGE's own ATM machine - customer wallets. I think it's time to call in the Feds since no one in ** is willing to help residents. SDGE is a predatory, price-gouging monopoly that is continuously raising rates while boasting record profits for their shareholders. The company influences politicians in various ways. It requires employees to sign a loyalty oath upon hiring to hide their misdeeds.SDGE makes sure that other competitors are voted down by local politicians. Not everyone can get solar. And not everyone qualifies for their assistance program. (and who would want them to have personal financial information?) San Diego has the most moderate climate, yet we pay the highest utilities rates. There have been no local politicians supervisors, councilmembers, senators, or congresspeople who have stepped up to help.Someone has to do something to help stop these constant rate hikes.

SDG&E has over charged me for Nov. ($271.47) and Dec. 2024 ($362.96). I have not changed electrical usage over the prior months. I do not use heating because my heater is broken. I dont use an air conditioner because its a through the window unit in the living room. I cook one meal a day, lunch. I dont use the stove, only the microwave and a small toaster oven, yet the bill has increased in Nov and also Dec. My average SDG&E bill had been around $150 per month over the prior 10 months. Last December, 2023, my electric bill was $154. I pay my bills monthly, none missed. Suddenly, the electric bill for November 2024 went up to. $271. then $ 362. In December 2024. I want to stress, that I dont use any different equipment, nor is there any new equipment that would drive the bill up to this amount. I do watch TV, but bundle up under 3 blankets. When I contact SDG&E, they insist that the billing is correct but wont explain why its doubled. They tell me that they read the meters at the office, they dont read meters on property. How do they know their in office meters are correctly reading only my unit? To me, this is outrageous, and poor service that they wouldnt investigate or consider the possibility that their system isnt calibrated correctly. Ive checked with neighbors with similar size units, but they say their monthly SDG&E bills are around $150. Per month. Something is very wrong

Worst utility company ever! SDGE is the worst. Years they've closed our roads around ****** to supposedly put our wires underground, replaced poles, hardened their equipment but have 0 confidence in their own work and equipment. They tuck their tails and run away by putting all of us in the dark during near freezing nights. Their power outtage site says power restored DECEMBER 13 5 PM!!! 4 DAYS! SDGE IS THE WORST!

Poor service for the paid services. There should be recompense for the customer for the amount of black out/s in the SDGE service area.

This review is about outages frequency and how SDG&E handles them. We live in the ************* area and we have had 3 overnight outages in the past 4 months. To me that is totally unacceptable in this age of dependence on electricity. Last week, while I was out of town, another outage occurred. The outage was reported as it is normally. The resolution time kept getting later and later. It was finally resolved about 11 am the next day. The problem was that it wasn't restored at my house. Now I understand the heat induced issues they are dealing with but it took me over 45 minutes on the phone to ask for a technician who came over around 6 pm. Saturday evening. He diagnosed the problem as a faulty Main breaker which had been working just fine before the outage. I had to hire an emergency electrician who went out of his way to help resolve the issue. The problem was in order to replace the main breaker, SDG&E has to send out a special technician to disconnect it from the source and once it is replaced, come back to reconnect it. So I called them asking for that service to which I was told, call back Monday morning. This is not considered an emergency. Really? no power for 2 days of 100 degrees is not an emergency ? Fortunately my electrician had some internal connections at SDG&E so he was able to get the technician out here at 1 a.m. He replaced the main breaker which took 5 hours an d cost me $1200. I was out there all night and went to bed at 7 a.m. So my complaint is 2 fold. 1) *********** we received during this crisis that cost us $1200 plus some food spoilage and massive clean up needed. 2) the fact that we have had 3 outages (2 of them were not related to hot weather) in 4 months indicates a severe infrastructure issue which was confirmed by the technicians. With the high rates that we have been paying for years, I expect and demand better service. Notice that the reviews are averaging 1 star. That is not by accident.

Power has been off at the main for three months, yet Im still being billed $11$12. The detailed report shows 0 kWh usage for the entire billing cycle, with no explanation or line item for the charge. How am I being charged without any clear explanation? If its a service fee, thats finebut why does it vary from month to month? A simple description of the charge on the bill would resolve the issue.Im not a lawyer, but it doesnt seem legal to charge someone without a clear explanation for the charges.
