I contacted this company to see if I could obtain some military service dates for my deceased father-in-law. I selected this company due to it supposedly being able to obtain this information for free. The only thing free was them compiling the reports. In order to actually view the report, I would be required to pay. I was able to obtain the information I needed from a different source that was truly free. I've contacted this company a few times via e-mail to take me off their e-mail list as I'm no longer interested in their services. To date, I'm still getting requests from them to pay for these reports I no longer need. Please have them cease and desist contacting me.Business Response

On 12/15/2023 I ordered and paid for report to obtain informationm on one of my tenants. The link to the report was sent to my email. When I tried to download the report ************ asked for an extra charge of $3.99 to let me download the pdf of the report onto my computer: I declined. I then proceeded to view the report through their website: the report was inaccurate (the address provided was wrong, the tenant resides on my property for quite a long time now) and failed to provide the tenants existent court records (which I obtained through public records). I consider this a TruthFinder scam as the report is mostly empty/useless and the company is clearly false advertising (not revealing extra charges to download the report).Business Response

So I got on ************ to see if I had any public records. Upon signing up and searching my name they have a thing in big red writing that says its probable Im on a govt watch list. I was a bit concerned then after a few mins later it says its probable Ive got explicit images with 2 blurred out photos theyve recovered so I spent the money to sign up so I could check this govt watch list and explicit photos. Of course I wasnt on a watch list or didnt have and explicit images theyve recovered. Id like a refund but even more I want my name taken off their list because I own a business. What happens when a potential client searches my name and it says ** on a government watch list and Ive got explicit images in theyve recovered and it costs me a $200,000 job because they didnt buy access. They seen that and was enough for them. Its wrong and damaging to mislead people so they can profit from it.Business Response

Under normal circumstances, when a user activates an account with **********************, they must provide an electronic signature authorizing Intelius to charge their payment method, including for the automatic renewal of their membership. Our Billing Terms are conspicuously explained on our registration page and in our Terms of Use. Customers are sent a confirmation email upon signup. If a user completes their initial search inquiry but does NOT enter their payment information, they will not be charged and no membership will be created.
In the event of proclaimed fraud, TruthFinder requests the billed recipient contact us first to ensure the account in question is thoroughly investigated. When this claim can be justifiably substantiated, the account in question is disabled from further use, all memberships to be cancelled, and all charges to be returned to the payment option holder (up to 12 months due to system limitations).

No other data broker demands email verification. Nov15th2023 I purchased a month membership in hope to find my daughter. The information they told me about my daughter was not only inaccurate- they had my other daughters spouse attached to my daughter Therefore I would never find my daughter as the addresses were also attached to my other daughters info. How can they call themselves TRUTHFINDER when all their info was falsely inaccurate but never did they say Everytime you do a search you must then pay an additional ****for each Other reports.Not only is that false advertising but it's also unlawful and after spending close to $30- their reports were full of such inaccuracies - they also lied about their promotion but never once mentioned you would be paying further monies for every report or search from then on. Not to also mention - I couldn't even log in for a second time to utilize what I had paid for. They need to be out out of Business for false advertising but from a mother whom is searching for her child -to mix up the info for both of my daughters is uncalled for and they should be stopped from taking money from the public and not living up to their end of the so called bargain! My opinion and they best not double or triple bill me as my friends have said was done to them. I at the minimum want my money back and don't want them to scam any others any further.
