I booked an appointment with a stylist and paid the fee. I received a text from the pro saying there would be a $45 deposit via PayPal or Cashapp and to ask what color hair I would like. I completed the transaction. I showed up at the appointment on time at the address listed. Someone else lived there so I reached out. They did not respond via text. I call only to,find out that the phone was out of service. I requested my money back via cashapp and they did not give it back. I filed a complaint with StyleSeat and they said nothing. I posted a review for others to beware. Then the pro added 50 positive reviews from absolutely no one to counter my one star review I left. Now you can no longer even see the one I posted. How does a business allow this type of practice on their app with no repercussions to the pros? I disputed the booking fee and obviously dont have the deposit back from cashapp. They need to remove that pro. They did not dispute my claim. They just blocked others from seeing what I posted as a truthful review.Business Response

10/29/2023 I scheduled a appointment with **********************. She failed to provide a business address. I asked her more than once for the address for the service. She did not provide a address. I cancelled the appointment and she charged me for cancelling the appointment I could not show up to with NO address. I communicated with her asking for a refund, I asked STYLESEAT for a refund and today via email I was told that I was not getting a refund. ********************** is a scammer and STYLESEAT is the platform she is using to STEAL my money.Business Response

I made an appointment using the app. The stylist is using a fake address for customers to arrive, see the abandoned building at the address and cancel so she can collect the cancellation money. A very simple scam. I was able to use alternative methods to contact this stylist and can confirm this is a scam. This company solicits scammers and fraudulent activity. I booked an appointment through Style seats on 8/31 and was charged a booking fee of $5.44 for an appointment on 9/29. Yesterday I changed the appointment from 9/29 to 10/5 and was charged two additional booking fees, both in the amount of $6.18 totally $12.36. I have reached out to the company and they refuse to issue a refund to me. This is a poor way of doing business. I want my money back. StyleSeat charges a booking fee to cover the operational costs of providing a smooth booking experience. This fee is refundable when a Professional cancels an appointment and is not charged when an appointment is rescheduled. When an appointment is canceled and a new appointment is booked in its place, the system will charge a booking fee. I am rejecting this response because: I have not received the refund yet. Once I receive the entire $12.36 back I will accept the response. I spoke with my stylist and was informed that i should have never been charge for changing an appointment date. ************ really needs to fix their website so that we appointment changes happen that a person is not billed fees for changing appointment. I also want my credit card removed from their website. I tried to delete my information but it will not allow me. This is not a good way to conduct business.

On 9/21/23 I started receiving emails and texts regarding an appointment that I never made in an account that I did not create. I have had this same company contact me in the summer of 2022. I informed them that the account was not made by me and I asked for all appointments to be cancelled and the account permenately closed. They have allowed a scam artist, by the name of ********************* to remake the account (with stolen credit card info) and book me for appointments that I did not make and do not want. The phone number listed for Styleseat is disconnected and I only receive an automated message via email. They refuse to respond, close the account and stop harrassing me for a fake account.Business Response

My appointment was scheduled for 10 AM Tuesday, Sep 19th. The stylist changed my appointment last minute to 10:30 AM without my permission or knowledge. Her tardiness caused me to have to miss appointments I had scheduled on the same day. Also, when I reached out, she blocked me. I have tried to communicate but her unprofessionalism is preventing this. I want a full refund of $120. I booked a sew in with her and the tracks were showing and she caked my hair up with some much product. I couldnt stand the heavy, greasy products and tension on my scalp. She was very unapologetic and blamed me for her unprofessionalism and poor work.Business Response

When I signed up for style seat as a stylist it stated I would pay the me feel monthly for scheduling and I could take payments however I would like. Unfortunately since being on the app I have been charged thousands of dollars for referring my clients to use the app. Due to style seat classifying them as new client's even when I have emailed them about specific client's. This company not only charges me but also my clients. This app is nothing but a rip claiming they are helping!Business Response

We can confirm you are on our $35 monthly plan, which does come with the flexibility of taking payments from clients via your preferred payment method. However, when a client is brought to you through our New Client Connection Program (or if the appointment is booked using our Smart Pricing feature), the appointments have to be checked out through StyleSeat. Since you're on our Premium Plan, you have the option to opt out of this feature if you'd like. Please keep in mind that by opting out of this feature we would no longer be able to promote your profile or send new clients your way. We've taken a look and see that you are currently in contact with our Support team about these concerns as well. They will be able to provide you with direct assistance for these issues.

StyleSeat has horrible customer service and when I disputed a 100% no show fee with my bank (more on that later), StyleSeat lied and told my bank that they had outreached to me regarding the issue but that was a lie. In the documentation that they provided to my bank, they never showed proof of them reaching out and contacting me. I also sent StyleSeat an email on July 8 at their email address because there is no working phone number for customer service. And of course wouldnt you know no one ever responded to my email. StyleSeat, you need to do a better job of educating your stylists on no-show fees. Not enough consumers know this and I am here to spread the word. It is illegal for a business to charge you full price for a service that is not rendered. They can charge a no-show fee, of course, and a cancellation fee, but it cannot be equal to the amount of the full service charge. When StyleSeat charges this fee or the provider does in this case, they forge your signature, as if you are authorizing the charge. They will say that its a part of their policy but just because its policy it does not make it legal. Educate yourselves on the Electronic Funds Transfer act section 20 K. Thank me later. Also, in case youre wondering yes I win my dispute and now that stylist is on the hook for owing StyleSeat the amount that she charged me for the no-show fee. I canceled the appointment because the stylist did not respond to my text messages and left me on read. StyleSeat did not protect me as a customer using their platform.Business Response

We can confirm that your Professional has a no-show policy displayed on their profile that was agreed to at the time of booking. We've attached a screenshot of this policy for your reference. We do see that you have disputed this charge with your bank and unfortunately once a dispute is filed we are unable to do anything with these funds on our end.

I went to a ****** on StyleSeat on May 4 and he suggested for the first time he had a membership program for customers where if they pay for 5 haircuts up front for a discount.On Tuesday May 9th, the ****** texted me reminding me of the membership and what the cost was. I paid him using ApplePay for 5 haircuts to be able to enter into his paid membership plan. I went through 4 haircuts with him and on the last haircut I overslept and last minute and agreed to paying the full service which the difference should have been a couple of dollars. He changed my haircut to another haircut from the paid membership service that I already had so that he could double charge me which totaled up to $133.75. I would like to be refunded the amount of 65$ since I was double charged. I contacted StyleSeat already and they said they couldnt do anything even though I had proof of everything that happened.Business Response
