      Complaint Against SoFi Bank Company Name: SoFi Bank Complaint Type: Unjustified Fund Hold / Poor Customer Service Incident Date: March 15, 2024 Present Desired Resolution: Immediate release of funds & corrective action On March 15, 2024, I checked into SpringHill Suites in **********, **. Due to a misunderstanding, the hotel placed a $400 incidental hold on my SoFi debit card, even though my client, Old Dominion Freight Line (ODFL), has a direct billing arrangement with the hotel. By March 18, 2024, **** had paid in full, and I checked out on March 19, 2024, expecting the hold to be *********** March 25, 2024, the hold was still there. The hotel provided an authorization release code and confirmed this was now a SoFi issue. I contacted SoFi, and after multiple transfers and hold times, a virtual agent told me the hold would remain for 30 days, even with proof of payment.When I escalated the issue, I was transferred to Account Manager ****, who:Refused to give his last name Was condescending and dismissive Ignored the hotel staffs confirmation that no charge existed Refused to release the hold, saying nothing could be done ********** travel clerk and accountant were shocked by SoFis refusal to help. They even called me later to apologize for how SoFi treated me.SoFi is holding my money hostage for 30 days for no valid reason. I have spent hours trying to resolve this, and it is ridiculous that I am being forced to fight over $400.Desired Outcome:Immediate release of my $400 Reprimand for Account Manager **** for his unprofessional conduct Policy review to prevent future customers from experiencing this I will be closing my long-standing SoFi account and moving my funds to Discover. I am also sharing my experience publicly so others know what to expect from SoFis customer service ******************************* would rather lose a customer than fix a simple issueover $400!

      I signed up with these ******** because they were offering a 300 dollar sign up bonus for opening checking account . One of the stipulations was you need to set up direct deposit . So I called and explained that to the gentleman on the phone and explained Im a realtor and I dont receive direct deposit. His exact words were we thank you for your business and as long as you do Zelles, cash check and or transfer from other banks we will honor it : well today was three months (of course no 300 in my account ) and when I called the first IDIOT was like I will credit you as a one time courtesy 1000 points . As she was speaking I looked it up and thats equivalent to ten dollars LOL. So then I asked to speak to a manager and the sign up promo is now called direct deposit promo her sisters asshole! I hope they all get typhoid. After reading other reviews , they are trash . Do NOT bank with these people ,

      When I first signed up for SoFi they forgot to actually ship my debit card. I got in contact with SoFi about 14 or so days later. They refused to overnight my card and it took around 30 days to get my debit card. Their chat support was also rude. Fast forward to March 17th, I get in contact with SoFi to despite a charge from a company that charged me without my knowledge. The chat representative specifically said that I wouldnt have to get a new card and that he took care of it. Now on March 24th I find my card doesnt work. Turns out they lied and did actually deactivate my card and again refuse to overnight a card to me even after their screwup and the chat representative was rude and condescending. Plus their Zelle implementation is garbage too, always fails when I send money and cant even use Zelles app because SoFi blocks it. Save yourself the headache and choose another service.

      After purchasing gas at the pump, my card was charged a $75 "uphold charge" additional to the amount I paid for gas. This happened twice. My money was never returned to my account. Therefore I lost $150 that SoFi bank denied stealing. Do NOT trust this bank when pumping gas at a gas station. You will get robbed. Extremely FRAUDULENT. Customer service is of no help, they will lie and say the money has been returned. I keep an eye on all of my transactions. None of my money was returned.

      They block just about every charge as fraudulent. Then when you call or chat to let them know it was not a fraudulent charge, they give you the run around and refuse to unblock your debit card. I have never heard of a bank refusing to believe a customer when the customer tells them it was not a fraudulent charge. Their customer service agents are full of misinformation, and they are more interested in being 'right' than providing any customer service or any resolution. A lot places will not even recognize my routing number for this bank. Horrible.

      Got quote from SoFi. Didnt use them so they sold my phone number and I get nonstop harassing spam calls since. 20+ daily! Do NOT get a quote or do buisness with SoFi.

      What an ugly company. Instead of helping its customers it hurts them more. I was late on a payment for a credit card but then was able to pay way more, like half of my balance back, only for this horrible company to lower my card limit! Do you not understand how that hurts your customer's credit?! What terrible business practices, when this is paid off, I'm through.

      Well, I was hoping for better. Opening the account was easy. The site looks like it was designed by a grade school student. Unprofessional look and feel and finding simple things is ridiculously difficult. You would think you'd find statements in the documents area. Nope, nowhere to be found. Dealing with customer service is a joke. They tell you to click on non existent icons and don't listen to the problems you are having as a customer. After 1 year of trying the site, I'm done. If you are serious about investing stay away from this company. Choose a real company like ****** or ********. The tools on SoFi are not designed to help you invest and the site is not designed to work properly.

      They are a HORRIBLE bank.
      Do not use them if you're serious about your finances. Their support team is rude, condescending, and not even helpful in any way at all.
      This bank deserves to fail.
      Awful. Just awful.
      Their marketing practices are HIGHLY deceptive.

      This company is ridiculous. They "responded" to my complaint about 2 months ago (after rejecting a check and holding it for months) that the funds would go back to the issuer. Meanwhile another 2 months have gone by and they are just holding the check for $3000. Terrible.
