Gift cards useless- I would not buy them!Sephora online and customer service do not seem to care about their consumers. Beware buying their gift cards. I had 3 gift cards which I had not used during COVID. 2 of the gift cards were at least $50 a piece. And 1 I purchased for $25. When I tried to use 1 card it way lower than I expected. The other 2 gift cards which I knew I had not used did not have the full balances. Instead both had a strange balance of $13.97. I then called their customer service and got the run around. I called their customer service 5 times and not 1 person seemed to believe me or be sympathetic. I was on the phone for hours. I was able to file a case number but never got a reply back. 1 person did send me to another company called Black Hawk who is supposed to deal with these issues. Black Hawk stated they did not have any record of my gift cards! They could not do anything. (How is it possible for me to get a balance online if there is no record?!) This was in 12/2022. I was so upset I didn't use the cards then. Now it is October 2023 and I decided I might as well use the low, low balances for Christmas presents. But when I input the same 3 gift cards I got another surprise. ZERO dollars on all 3 gift cards! When I checked on Sephora community apparently a lot of other folks are also noticing their balances lower or zero, too. I find this suspicious. It could be their security is very poor and someone is stealing the gift card numbers or Sephora itself is lowering the balances if folks are not using them immediately. I have lost all faith in Sephora. I feel cheated and frustrated. I would recommend never getting a Sephora gift card unless you plan to use it immediately and have a receipt as proof. Since my cards were all older I no longer have the receipts.Sephora

Please know, the two cards, each with a value of $13.97, are store merchandise cards. Store merchandise cards are issued when a client is due a refund via store credit. Store credit is issued if a return was made between ***** days from the date of original purchase, if a gift is returned, or if the original payment was made with a gift card or store merchandise card. These store merchandise cards were generated at two different stores, one on 11/20/19 at the *************** store, and the other on 12/9/19 at the ****************** store; neither have ever had a value of more than $13.97. Store merchandise cards can only be used for in-store purchases. We see you recently used a $50 gift card that was purchased on 12/9/19 at the ****************** store; the full $50 value was applied and is now depleted of funds. I am a solid customer of **********************. I love going to the *************** location because everyone there from the sales associates on the floor to the cashiers are extremely kind. Well, I decided to go to the Sephora that opened in the next town over which would be *******. It's a much smaller location but I wanted to see what they had to offer. Well, big mistake! No one came up to ask if I needed assistance especially that I noticed the Ouai Detox shampoo was sold out but luckily they had the combination with the leave in conditioner available. I usually don't care for assistance but today I definitely needed it. Now comes with the experience that truly caused me to write this review. There was someone in front of me being rung up. The cashier was extremely kind to them. Now it was my turn. I felt a very weird vibe from the cashier. She was very cold and passive aggressive. Not sure what the issue was but I am not the same race as the girl in front of me. I have vowed to never return to this location, Truthfully, I will stick to my regular location and have warned my friends to avoid this location since we are all folks of color.Sephora

I purchased a dryer brush from Sephora less than a year ago. After no more than 20 uses the brush stopped working. The company that makes the brush is not responding to emails to fulfill a warranty claim (seems to have happened to many people) and Sephora claims there is nothing they can do to assist me as I am outside of their 90 day window. If you look up the product on their site, there are many 1 star reviews dating back through the last year stating the same issue with the brush dying less than a year in, yet Sephora continues to sell a product that they clearly know is faulty. I would have been happy with a store credit for the purchase amount, but instead Sephora would rather continue robbing people, while standing behind a product that they know overheats and dies - hopefully no one gets hurt while the company continues to turn a blind eye.Sephora

To allow a purchase to process for in store pickup prior to confirmation of the items being in stock and then refusing to refund the customer for 14 days is pure theft. This should never happen.Sephora

Bought a product on 8/11/23 and rushed over to return for a full refund 9/11/23. Product was completely unused and store manager did not refund and instead gave me a store credit, which I do not want or need. Because August had 31 days! People are out here doing smash and grabs and Sephora cant refund my money for a completely unused product because its been 31 days?? This is why I absolutely do not like shopping at Sephora. Please save your time and stick to Nordstrom and/or Ulta.Sephora

1 starreturned products on 7/14/23. It is now 9/10/23. I am hoping this nightmare is coming to an end. I returned products and was still told I owed money even though I had no products since they were returned. They say they can not see purchases made in store when you call the Sephora line for help the 866 number. Some how they email you to ask you to review it online, but they have no record? The store manager did let me take a picture of the computer screen bc she new I was having issues with their awful company. They turned me into the credit bureau even though I received a letter saying not to pay my bill due to a pending dispute. They then turned me into the credit bureau's. My credit score dropped over a hundred points. I called ************* of Sephora. Ha, they owe me money! Oh, but my credit will be effected for 45 days because they can not remove it. It should have never been reported according to their letter telling me NOT TO PAY IT. Of course they are all so sorry. You would think they could see that as a long time customer that I ALWAYS paid my bill in full on time. ****** learned. You could not pay me to step foot in that place. My credit score is messed up bc THEY OWE ME MONEY. Horrible customer service. I spent around 2-3 hours a week for almost two months and it's still not over. I would think twice before shopping here. I also saw there are many other people this has happened to as well. I finally got the Better Business Bureau involved. I don't care if they are giving stuff away, I will not go near this scandalous place. I will hopefully get my check for the money they owe me and since they messed with my credit and my time I will let people know what can possibly happen to them. Placed an order with Sephora online, got notification that the order was ready and upon arrival the employees were in the store but the power was out. They refused to assist me with picking up the order that I already paid for. I proceeded to contact the corporate office where an employee hung up in my face. This place is sub par and their employees are true reflections. Take notes from **** *****Sephora

I purchased something via paypal and returned it in-store within 30 days and their policy for paypal purchases is to return a store credit instead of returning to the card that was used. This was not noted during checkout. I would never have paid with a method if I could not get my money back.Sephora
