Yahoo support has failed to help with the recovery of my email. The email in question is linked to ********* and I need access for a verification code. I had contacted yahoo support but was told I would need to pay $12.99 a month for further help and information. If I cannot gain access this this email I am worried that it being linked to ********* could put sensitive information at risk.Business Response

I am locked out of my yahoo mail account. My recovery information has been hacked:. Here is a summary of data breach:1. The Yahoo two step recovery uses a phone that i haven't used in over three years and a cell phone number that has been discontinued with the old phone (before cell # associated with sim card could be reused.)2. The account recovery email that is in the Yahoo data system is not my alternate email address. It shows up as ******************* where mine is ****************** 3. The "verify with ****** account" ********************** recovery option uses an account associated with the same wrong gmail account, *******************.I used yahoo's live agent help, who was, after 30 minutes of trial and errors, able to assure me that they now had access to my account. All I had to do was pay for their service. I refused.The only other alternative was to use Yahoo's Sign in helper, which repeatedly failed when attempted byphone and by laptop.According to yahoo site, "If you're unable to use the Sign-in Helper to get into your account because YOUR RECOVERY INFO IS WRONG OR INACCESIBLE, you won't be able to regain access to your account again. You're always welcome to sign up for a new account, but just make sure to keep your new account's recovery info up-to-date."Well obviously my recovery info has been hacked (items 1-4 above) even though the yahoo representative i talked to for 30 min informs me that the recovery info can only be modified by me. That statement is stupid and false. It is yahoo's responsibility to keep that info safe. They did not; that info was breached. I refuse to have to PAY Yahoo to open my account due to a breach in thier data involving my account info.Business Response

I have tried several times to retrieve my password. Its a very old account as you can see. I used ******* connect and ******* no longer offers internet or access to my old email. Locked out of my email account for no reason and they are telling me I have to pay to get into my account. I already have two factor authentication set up like the suggested years ago and access to both the phone and recovery email address on file, yet they are telling me I have to pay to get in. Their website even says you can reset a password for FREE to avoid paying a fee but the steps lead you right back to a paid service and the customer service representatives say I have to pay to get any support or information on WHY my account is not available. I am a victim of identity theft. I had a Yahoo email account and it was stolen from me by the identity thief. The recovery alternate email address, the password, the phone numbers, all security questions and answers were changed on me. I cannot log into my email account. I coptacted ********************** many times to fix this and return my Yahoo email address to me. The identity thief that stole my yahoo account has contacted **** and other companies opening many fraud amounts in my name and uses my email address they stole from me to commit more fraud and identity theft against me. I tell Yahoo many times and they refuse to do anything about the account that was stolen from me. If the account cannot be returned to me, please close it so no more fraud can be done using my email address they stole from me.Business Response

Hello,My name is *************************** and my yahoo email is inaccessible to me due to my inability to remember my password. My email that I cant access is ****************************************** bear with me here. I am 71 years old and have had this email for over 20 years and have accessed it without a password for that length of time. I have switched PCs and phones without any issues. I just recently switched iPhones and thats when the issue occurred. I have tried everything from entering passwords that were possible, following the instructions to reset the password where another road block occurred as my phone number has changed and the default emails that are listed I have never used. I actually chatted with someone? and actually talked to actual people about this issue and there was no help. I have important things stored in folders connected to that email. My son, ********************* has lived overseas for the past 12 years and even though we visit, its not frequent enough so we email. Those emails are important to me as are emails from my sister who has passed away. There are also correspondence from my lawyer, mortgage information,etc. Please help me resolve this. Yahoo's customer service is garbage. My email password is no longer working, and I have no way of changing my password, because every time I try I get an "Uh Oh! Please try again later" error. I've even tried calling their supposed "premium support" and it was of NO help whatsoever. I've had this email address for over a decade and there are incredibly important things tied to this email. This email is so old that unfortunately there is no backup number tied to the account. I have called support THREE times, showed them my ID, and every single time they could not help me and blamed it on some system error. I need access back into my account. I have been kicked out of my account on all my devices. My phone, my macbook, my computer, everything. Help me regain access to my account. I have held a yahoo account for several years since 2011 and I have never had a single issue with them until recently. I went to check my email one day to find that I was logged out of every device I had. I tried to login to find that yahoo locked my account out. I do not have access to the original number to which I called yahoo support to find out that I have to freaking pay for customer service now. I think it is complete total BS that we have to pay to recover a dang password. I guess customer loyalty doesn't mean **** to these people.Business Response

As of 06/07/2023 I have been denied access to my email account with **********************. They locked me out of my account and will not let me back in unless I pay them for customer service help. I find this has been a common practice lately by Yahoo.Business Response
