As of yesterday 4/11/25 I am not able to get into my email account. I need to change my phone number attached to it. I have contacted yahoo several times and they wont do anything to edit the account without charging a credit card $12.99 per month for customer service. I have had this email account over 35 years and never needed customer service before this issue. Why in the world would I pay for it? I did have one rep offer to help me this one time for a one time fee of $9.99. I tersting to say the least.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:I received a voicemail from a ************ number.
I called this number, which turns out to be a robot asking for a voice message. I was finally able to leave a voice message after a few glitches on the robots part. Have not received a response, nor have I been able to connect with a human.
Looking forward to having my issue resolved.
Sincerely,

I've had a yahoo email account for at least over 15 years. I know my password and do not have access to my alternate email address since its also a yahoo email account that is locked out. Yahoo is saying the only way to reach a customer support agent is to purchase a $13 subscription to a service called Yahoo Premium Support. Many people including myself are running into this issue and we all think this is outrageous. After so many years of having this email account I should be able to make a simple change to my settings without having to pay money. As previously stated: I know my password and should not have to pay to get customer service being a member for over a decade. This type of service is free with any other free email client.Business Response

I have Yahoo email and they started having AI generated synopses at the top of the email. I tried the direction I found on Yahoo's website to stop the synopses from being generated and the instructions do not work. Yahoo has customer service but one has to pay a premium to use it. I am not paying for a service to fix a problem caused by Yahoo.Business Response

I have been blocked out from my account, despite having the correct password, recovery email, the phone number associated with the email. There is an Authenticator and a pass key added which I do not remember. Called 5 times the support and failed the verification process, however I have my valid US drivers license and all the info that is required. The customer representatives after spending 7 days and more than 5 hours are unable to help me recover my account. Its unacceptable that we cannot get proper customer support and recovery option.Business Response

Tron ****** ***** 8th 2025 Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to file a complaint against AOL regarding a concerning incident that recently occurred involving my email account. I have been a loyal customer of ********************** for over 25 years, using their email services for both personal and professional communication.Recently, I found myself denied access to my AOL email account without any prior warning or explanation. After attempting to access my account, I contacted ********************** customer support for assistance. To my disappointment, I was informed that I would only be able to regain access to my account after verification. After verification I was told I would only be able to gain access if I agreed to a subscription.I was shocked and frustrated by this demand, as I have never encountered such a policy in all my years as an AOL customer. It is unethical and unfair for ********************** to deny me access to my account and demand payment for something that should be a basic service. I believe this practice goes against the principles of good business ethics and customer service. I am not looking for compensation, but I do urge AOL to reconsider their policies and provide better support for customers who may encounter access issues.I would appreciate your assistance in investigating this matter and helping to facilitate a change in policy with AOL, if possible. Thank you for your attention to this issue.Sincerely,Tron ******Business Response

Thank you for providing your feedback. Account security is the account owners responsibility, if up to date verification elements are not provided and our phone support is needed, there is a cost that comes with that service.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: As a customer I do take security of my account seriously and have for over two decades. I did not lose my password or fell victim to some phishing scheme. I was locked out of my account by your company and was not given access until you was paid, in other words extortion. Coercion for profit is a horrible business model.
Sincerely,
Tron ******Business Response

I cannot log into my email account through any means. I have had my email account for more than 10 years. A lot of my other accounts are linked to this email address so I need it to access documents and important mail. However, there is a 2 step verification that I cannot pass. I select one option that is the correct phone number, but after I enter the code, it prompts me to do another verification with an old phone number I don't have access to. There's no way I can log in. And it's ridiculous that I can't get access to this account without PAYING for customer support. This should be a free service to help users out of their locked account.Business Response

Yahoo email stoped working, tried to reach password online. Even though I had all the backup verification it would not let me reset password. It forces you to a paid customer service we have to pay $13 to reset your password. There is so many ways this company could use this tactic with Malicious intent. They could on purpose, change passwords, expire or lock accounts to force used to the paid customer service department. I simply want my password reset and account unlocked.Business Response

About 1 week ago, I lost access to my email account. It proceeded to ask for a password, which I dont use, but it was not allowing me to recover my account in any other way. Then it proceeds to tell you that you have to pay the fee of $12.99 to speak to customer service. I am currently an unemployed mother of 3 so I cant pay that. I also use that email to find employment. That has been my email for more than 5 years and Ive lost everything in that email because Im not able to access it.Business Response
