As like many complaints, I have received a bill from this company with no detail about what services were provided for my daughter. It looks like a complete scam letter. I have left messages during their business hours, and have not heard back, and have now received a second bill with a late fee of $25 dollars added. I do not intend to pay this bill until someone can tell me what service was provided, and when.Business Response

I received an invoice from Pacific Medical **** File 1616, with a statement date of 5-2-2024. I cannot reach a customer service rep and I am not sure what this invoice is for. There is not a date of service, description of item or service, or if insurance was billed. I am assuming it is for a walking boot that was prescribed by *********** for my daughter back on 2-25-2024. The Explanation of Benefits from my insurance lists a service date of 2-25-24 and the provider is listed is Pacific Medical for with a claims total of $405.00. $405.00 for a walking boot that under $100.00 on-line. There is a statement on the invoice that says, "Due to system issues, this is a temporary statement until further notice." I did attempt to pay this online and the payment system told me there would be an $11.52 fee to process the payment. I did not process/confirm the payment. All of these are red flags to me.Business Response

In March 2023 my doctor recommended inserts from Pacific Medical. I received a billing from them in August for $55.00 which I immediately paid. In October of 2023 I requested a 2nd pair from my doctor and then received a billing for $110 at end of November 2023 which I paid on December 1st. In May of this year I received a billing for $55 that they said was overdue from March of 2023. No mention was made of this amount owing when they sent me the bill for $110. in November. This just seems to be really bad business with their bookkeeping. I have excellent credit . I offered to send them $30 to settle but was denied. I wish I had thought about contacting BBB before I corresponded with them.Business Response

I received a medical bill from Pacific Medical *** and I am not sure what this is for since there are no details. I want to make sure I pay if I do owe because it seems like they will put me in collections, but I have never dealt this company before and their phone number leads to a dead end. I have been calling and leaving messages as the voicemail instructs, but I am not able to reach anyone for more information and the bill seems fraudulent since there is no information about what the amount is owed to them for. I've been looking online and the company seems legitimate, but from the lack of response or person to speak with and lack of any detail on the bill, they seem like a scam. I do see other people that filed a complaint on BBB and their problems were resolved or at least got a call back. My account number shown on the bill is ******** File 1616.Business Response

My daughter was in a hospital emergency room when she was provided with a knee brace from Pacific *********** To our dismay, they charged a whopping $674.00 to my insurance. Even after claiming to have reduced the cost by $174.00, they are now billing me an additional $500.04. This is a clear case of overcharging, especially when the same standard brace is available for less than $100.00 on Amazon. Such practices are not only unjust but also take advantage of people in their time of need.On Yelp, Pacific ********** has 60 one-star reviews: ****************************************************************************** Many of these complaints label this company as a scam, which is a cause for concern.Business Response

I received a vague bill with no description of service charges along with threat to charge late fees and send to collections if payment was not received. This makes no sense since I have NEVER heard of this company nor seeked their services. That being said I do not know how they received my contact details to send a threading bills collection letter. I am healthy and havent seen a provider in over 8 months. I have not received any medical services outside of my primary care and my insurance sends me an EOB outlining all charges. I followed up with my insurance and they confirm of no pending patient responsibility charges.Business Response

Pacific Medical sent me a bill for $25 for a sling. I sent my payment in on 05/17/2024 and my card was charged for the sling on 05/29/2024 for the $25. I received a statement from them in the mail on 06/04/2024 in the amount of $50 for the same account even though I have already paid this bill. I have called them four times during business hours and no one answered on the other end. I then left an voicemail and did not hear back. I then filled out their Contact Us tab on their website and have not heard back from a representative of Pacific Medical.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. They called and emailed me today on 06/06/2024 and explained that the charge was actually for two different items and not the same item. Thank you pacific medical for explaining this to me. In the future, if the statements could say what each charge is for and the date the product was provided it would be easier for the patient to understand. Also, if the website could inform the patient of the balance remaining for the services that would be helpful to know. I forgot about the second sling from the company. Thank you for getting back to me and sorry for the confusion.Initial Complaint

On 6/3/24 I received a very vague, nondescript bill in the mail from Pacific Medical *** (no description of what charges were for, no reason why it was not covered by insurance, only the supposed amount and threat of late fee charge if not paid). In viewing other complaints, it appears to be standard operating procedure, and must go through BBB to receive any response. I attempted to call the number provided and the only option was to leave a voicemail. No answers, just left to believe this is a scam.Business Response
