May 2024 I took my car to Evans tires and service center in ******** on *************** to get my oil changed. He charged me $150.Just want to add. I am a single female needing automotive service. I assume this makes me a vulnerable customer im waiting in the lobby. He returns in about 15 minutes and says maam cant do the oil change. The oil plug is stripped. Youre gonna-need a new oil pan. I said well thats highly unlikely because my oil plug was just replaced last time I had it changed. besides that I cant afFORD it, never mind the oil change. Ill just do it myself. He said now wait a minute. Let me go see what I can do. He came back about 45 minutes later and said maam, your car is done. Just wanna make a note here that my car was the only one being worked on at the time and I heard an impact wrench beingused. I said OK great but what about the new oil pan? He said well youre gonna need a new one next time because its stripped.(well if it was stripped to begin he wouldnt be able to put it back on so its obvious now who stripped it) he said i was able to do it this time but they wont be able to do it again. I also told him I could hear an impact wrench he said yeah thats because its a tire shop.We use impact wrenches . I said on my oil pan he said No on a tire. So May 2025 i take it back and ask about the man who did previous repair, and they told me that he had passed away. I told them I was worried an impact wrench might have been used to tighten my oilplug and the posing mechanic said to me well maybe but its gonna be hard to prove it. and since hes passed away, youll have no one to blame.Business Response

This company never made a phone call to me nor did they leave a voicemail. They are submitting false information which just adds to the ******* and deceit from this company. To Whom It May Concern,I am filing a complaint against Evans Tires for unauthorized service, deceptive billing, and failure to follow consent policies. On 4/18/2025, I brought my car in for a free inspection, as advertised. I told the staff I suspected issues with the transmission fluid, axle or rotor, and that my car clicked while turning. I dropped off my keys after confirming it was just an inspection.Later, I received a call with a high quote. I clearly said not to proceed with any work, as I was considering a mobile mechanic for labor. The employee assured me no work would be done without my approval. I even confirmed, So its just the inspection? and they said yes. However, when I returned, I was charged $256.50. I was shocked and reminded them I had not approved any service. The employee smiled and said, Oh, I thought thats what you also wanted. That is not what I agreed to.I was given two conflicting receipts:1.A quote listing transmission fluid among future recommendations.2.A receipt charging me for transmission fluid service as completed. If the transmission fluid was already done and paid for, why was it included in the quote as a pending item? These documents contradict each other. I was charged for a service I never approved.I paid only because I thought I was obligated. A mechanic later informed me that I had the right to dispute it, so I am doing so now.I am requesting a full refund of $256.50 for the unauthorized charge and urge a review of this businesss practices.Sincerely,***** ********* Invoice: ********* Work Order: ****** Card Ending: 7169 Phone: ************ Email: *****************Business Response

I am a *** with *** a ***, that shares ownership of a 2002 *********** that is used for driving safety research. Back in 2023 we had a nightmare of an experience with Evans Tire located on *****************. SD, as after keeping the vehicle for several days, to ***air a steering ballpoint they acted with malicious conduct, did a bad ***air, that caused a steering malfunction and near fatal car accident! On top of this they stole the registration out of the gloove box, that we had to pay to ***lace. Then they refused to honor the warranty on this work, so we had to file a complaint with BBB (2023) to get them to finally ***air the vehicle. This all cost huge loss of work damages, and they should have just offered a refund based on the above, But this gets worst as they invited us to finance the ***air $2300 and unethically did not disclose that it was going to cut throat bank CFNA, that did not DISCLOSE, that they charge a $250 charge, and will impose $40 a month scam late payments when the customer is not late! We did not know this and paid $500 twice, $400, seven $100 payments and then numerous $40-$50 payments until the $2300 was paid in full. Meanwhile the ripoff CFNA acount ending #**** is making harassing illegal FDCPA to work place trying to steal the extra $480 money that is not owed! Enough/Stop!!! We thought we were financing with Evans not CFNA so we ask based on that switch and bait Evans scam and the bank scam, and the fact that we are paid off, we ask that EVANS STOP CFNA FROM TRYING TO STEAL ONE MORE DOLLAR IMMEDIATELYAND CONSIDER BASED ON ALL OUR DAMAGES REFUND THE WHOLE AMMOUNT!Business Response

Hello,
This complaint no longer concerns an individual Evans Tire location, but instead Evans Tire policy in regard to "financing" payments of their services as a. they did not DISCLOSE the fact that we were not actually financing with Evans but instead a corrupt ********* in S.C. that b. did not DISCLOSE that if not paid in FULL in six months they would add a $250 bogus charge while also adding every month a BOGUS $40 late charge! c. *************** do deny payments that were made! We feel confident that the actual $2300 was paid off (see audit sent) and they are HARASSING AND ATTEMPTING LARCENY THAT MUST STOP AT ONCE! This is consumer FRAUD. Add all this to the Evans defective work, that almost caused and accident! b. stealing of our REGISTRATION when repairing, and weeks of loss of work damages to get the warranty honored, that ALL WE ASK THAT EVANS CLOSE THAT ACCOUNT AS PAID IN FULL AND NOT AID AND ABET FURTHER FRAUD,

To whom it may concern,
Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the concerns raised. We would like to clarify several important points regarding this matter:
First, in order to process a CFNA credit application, the customer is required to personally review and accept the terms and conditions. **** will not extend credit or approve any financing unless the applicant explicitly agrees to these terms. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure they understand and accept those terms prior to completing the application.
Additionally, we cannot assume liability for any missed or late payments. Once credit is approved and the account is established, it is the customers obligation to maintain the account in good standing. We are not involved in the administration or enforcement of ***** billing and payment policies.
With regard to the claim of a "bad repair," the customer did contact the *************************** (BAR), which conducted an investigation. The outcome of that investigation determined that our service center was not responsible for the damages or issues alleged by the customer.
Nonetheless, in the interest of maintaining customer satisfaction, we proceeded with a no-cost repair as a goodwill gesturedespite the fact that no fault was found on our part.
We believe we have gone above and beyond to address this situation fairly and professionally. At this time, no further action will be taken.Thank you,

The Evans response is entirely false and dishonesta cover-up of their malpractice. Unless Evans is ready to confess to their fraud, they need to address the real issues and stop deceiving the public:
No Disclosure: The customer was never verbally or in writing informed of a hidden $250 fee if not paid in full in six months. No honest company would use this tactic. The Evans *** simply asked if financing was wanted, handed the bill, and said sign here. No terms were disclosed.
Negligent Work: Evans performed faulty work on the vehicles ball joints, nearly causing an accident. They hid the fact that the ***air was under warranty and refused to honor it until a BBB complaint was filed. Their negligence caused lost work and use of the vehicle. A full refund is warranted.
Missing Registration: Evans shop maliciously kept the vehicles registration. They should reimburse the cost to ***lace it.
Repaired Elsewhere: The steering work had to be redone at another shop. This proves Evans work was faulty, despite their claims about the CA Board.
Finance Scam: Evans deceived the customer into thinking they were financing directlynot through a third-party predatory bank. The customer received no notice of the banks involvement or terms at signing. The bank added bogus charges, including the shady $250 six-month fee. Evans enabled this fraud.
Payment History: Customer has paid two $500 payments, one $400, seven $100s, and four or more $50stotaling or exceeding the $2300 due. If Evans disagrees, we demand a full account audit and ***ort to the BBB. We also reserve the right to file IRS Form 3949-A for fraud and falsified records.
FINAL OFFER: **** this account PAID IN FULL and stop the harassmentor we will proceed with further complaints and legal action.Initial Complaint

I visited Evans Tires on 11/29/24 for an oil change. The coupon offer included a tire rotation. When I picked up my car, the mechanic stated he noticed a s**** in my tire. In order to "help" me, he screwed the s**** in further. Presumably so the head of the s**** might provide a better seal for any tire leakage. This action had a negative effect. As you can see from the Evans Tire receipt and the ****** receipt I replaced the tire within 6 miles. The tire actually blew out after 3 miles so I was driving on rims to get to ******. Given the tire blew out 3 miles after the mechanic screwed in the screw, I think it's obvious his action is what caused the blow out.I am requesting a refund of the cost of the ****** tire, the oil change ($289), and completion of the offer to rotate my tires. Given the risk of driving on rims and the inconvenience of multiple phone calls, I would like vouchers for future oil changes.Business Response

To Whom It May Concern,
The customer came into our shop with a s**** already in his tire. Upon leaving our location his tire blew up. He is claiming one of our technicians did something to his tire to make it blow even though he had a s**** imbedded into his tire before coming into our location. He brought his vehicle in for an oil change, at that time we noticed a s**** in his tire and recommended a patch or a new tire. He declined (Documented on the invoice). Due to this matter, he has requesting free lifetime oil changes, and he wants us to buy him a new tire. We will not be taking responsibility for this matter due to the fact that he already had a s**** in his tire before coming into our location.

95% of what the business says is true but maybe a little misleading. The 5% that is not true is that the mechanic said he screwed in the s**** even deeper. Obviously I don't have evidence. I'm not in the habit of recording conversations. I believe the s**** was in my tire for weeks/months because there was a a low pressure indicator. I assumed it's like any tire that does get low pressure due to natural leakage through the tire valve.
The facts are:
1. The mechanic told me he screwed in the s**** deeper in order to provide a better seal. He told me the reason was that the head of the s**** would provide some protection of the air leak. 3 miles later, the tire blew out. The receipts prove that that the mileage of the oil change and the tire installation are 6 miles apart. The tire blew out on my way to ****** so it was about 3 miles.. My assumption is that the mechanic's action punctured one of the barriers in the tire (the steel belt?). Given my tire blew out 3 miles after the mechanic's action, it is reasonable to conclude that the mechanic's action caused the blow out.
2. I did decide to take my car to ****** to get the tire repaired because Evans Tires charges $50 (maybe $40) for a tire repair while ****** charges $10. My tire had operated for months so I did not expect an issue that the mechanic caused.
The manager at Evans Tires did offer to reimburse me for the price of the tire. Given my nuisance and danger of driving on rims (after the tire blew out), I would like to be reimbursed for the oil change (about $50) and a number of free oil changes in the future.
The mechanic destroyed my tire and put me in an unsafe place. I believe my request is reasonable.

On May 4th, 2024, I took my ***** Accord to Evans Tire and Service Center in *********, for a routine oil change. The employee told me that my car has an internal and that need to be fixed before doing the oil change, so I agreed to the service, and the total bill came to $2034.23 When I drove my car on Monday, the engine light was on, the engine idle was above 1200 (should be 750); and when I would release the gas pedal my car would shake. I returned to Evans, and they fixed the engine light, which came back the next day. Then I realized my car was losing gas. I went back like 8 times and the last time the manager told me that my car needed a new throttle and that would be around $500. At the point I realized I needed go to a new mechanic. I went to ******* Wrench and they found the throttle body dirty even though Evans had performed a fuel injection service. They told me that my car was under warranty for a new throtle (Evans wanted to charge me $500). They advised me to go to the ***** dealer. At the ***** dealer, they found the A/C compressor wire connector broken/damaged; and they replace the after market valve that Evans had put, and that was one of the problems. ThenI realized that Evans had charged me twice $513 for the same service. On 1st, 24, I went to Evans to talk to the manager and told him that I had to take my car to the ***** dealer to fix the problems that they had caused; also mentioned to him the double charge. He said he would call me later. He called me that evening and reimbursed me the $513. He then said that he would call me later that week to discuss the repairs from the ***** dealer, as of today, he hasn't call me. I want to be reimburse for what I spent at the ***** dealer.Business Response

On 11/2/20, I bought 4 (****** mile warranty) tires w/ the tire protection policy from the ****************************** for my 81-yr-old moms Edge (invoice #*****). I have used Evans tire and service center for more than five years for all of my tires and any car maintenance or car repairs for my vehicle. I trusted Bubba a reliable mechanic at that shop, I took my car in three weeks ago because it overheated They said it was just a hose and fix that and sent me on my way. The next time I drove my car it overheated again. I took it directly into the shop again at that time they told me it was a water pump and timing belt and would cost me $1500. I said OK have them do the work . I got the car back and the next day drove it and within 30 minutes it was overheating just as before I took it back to the shop and ****** who is the assistant manager had different mechanics and the manager Rich troubleshoot my car again this is now the third time for the same problem. ****** then went on to explain that ***** was not a skilled mechanic, even though he is a licensed mechanic and employed by Evans tires he said a different mechanic did the water pump repair because Bubba was not skilled to do that. He then informed me that hes not sure of the diagnostic work that ***** did, and it may have been incorrect. the water pump was not the problem. Neither was the timing belt which is why the car is still over heating. I was charged $1500 for work that did not need to be done and did not resolve the problem. I was then told by ****** that they gave it their best guess that that was the problem. He compared it to going to a doctors office and having the doctors Not sure what is wrong. He requested to do more work and charge me more fees. I asked to take my car so I can go to a different shop. I trusted this mechanic shop and I trusted ***** and the other mechanics, I am 73 years old and live alone and these people took advantage of that and charged me $1500 for work that was not necessary and did not fix the problem.Business Response

ASF a 35 year old NPO has been donated the use of a **** Thunderbird for safety driving research. This vehicle required front end suspension work, including ball joint, and control arms, that two other mechanics failed to fix correctly (though charging $500 not $2000 like the Evans charge). The vehicle front suspension makes a loud crunching noise, and this eventually interferes with safe steering operation, ******* the vehicle and causing a tow. Evans agreed to repair the vehicle, and agreed to remove all front-end noises. Though ASF apprised them that other mechanics had work on the ball joint, Evans were told to diagnose.the problems and make sure all front-end noises are removed and proper operation returned. They also agreed to lube the telescopic steering, that they did not do. There reps were bullying, and rude, and one of them hid the **** black book with the vehicle's registration kept locked in the glovebox, behind the passenger seat, so when the vehicle was returned, we could not find the registration or book and had to pay and order a new one! It was not long before the crunching noise returned, along with a new front wheel clicking noise, generated from the Evans bad/faulty repair. This was an indication of Evans malicious conduct, that now continues as they have refused for going on two weeks to answer emails about the 2 year work warranty refusing to honor the warranty on their bad work causing a safety hazard! .Worse yet, we finally talked to their headquarters that argued about everything, and continued to show an animosity toward the 35 year ASF auto safety effort, that they have caused interruption, huge loss of work damages, and continue maliciously to do so, as we have asked them to arrange the closest dealer to *****, and that they should pay to have the vehicle towed in since they caused the tow not us, but they refuse so we agree to pay for tow but Evans needs to set up the repair appointment, since their shops will not respond to email!Business Response
