Very easy to work with and constant communication. I have used them to buy every home I have purchased. If I decide to move again they will definitely get my business. Highly recommend.

This was the worse experience I had. The closing too long a month and a half. This was for a home equity loan. The issue was lack of communication. The right hand was not talking to the left hand. After the 3rd week, I was calling in every other day. I had to tell them. They had all required documents. Towards the end, they send to not to care.

Dealing with PennyMac was the worst loan experience I have ever had. After locking in the rate and the closing date was set, they tried to change the loan terms with no change in circumstances. The property address was the same, our income and credit did not change and they tried to adjust the terms of the loan and start the entire process over. We believe they gave us a deal they did not want to stick to regardless of all applicable laws. Then once we moved to another lender, they held up our appraisal because they did not cancel their appraisal order after we refused to accept the new loan terms.

PennyMac seems to run a scam where they fail to pay your property insurance and force you to buy theirs. I'm 50 years old and have had mortgages since I was 18 and PennyMac is the worst company that I have ever dealt with.
      Buyer Beware!

They were out original mortgage lender. The city, state and zip code were all correct with the original mortgage. We refinanced with them since the original mortgage was with pennymac and they were able to get our interest rate 1 point lower. As the process went on, I noticed the city and zip code on the new mortgage were wrong. I kept telling them it was not correct but I was told the physical address was what was showing on the new mortgage but the mailing address was what it was showing on the original mortgage. I thought okay, I’m young and didn’t know any better so I went with it. At closing, I noticed the documents we were signing were wrong, wrong address and zip code. I told them at that time and they told me to follow up with the mortgage company the following business day. I did, explained everything and i was told it had all been changed. Fast forward to first payment, we just had to send in, and pay for a letter that I had to sign to be over nighted to the closing company with the correct information send on it. 2 weeks later, I go to make my first payment and notice the zip is still wrong. Now pennymac is telling me I need to get a parcel number and letter from 911 stating the correct information send because they’re to incompetent to go to the original mortgage and just transfer the correct information over. I DO NOT recommend using them because it’s something simple they’ve turned into a hassle to get changed. It was a screw up on their end and they don’t want to fix it without making me jump through a million hoops. Customer service also stinks, they’re reading off scripts and will get “disconnected” by “accident”

My experience with this lender has been deeply frustrating and unprofessional, particularly during the critical final phase of my home loan process. While securing the loan was straightforward, everything fell apart as my closing date approached. My assigned loan processor did not transfer my file to anyone before taking leave and failed to inform me of her absence. I had no idea why she wasn’t responding to emails, texts, or calls until my realtor ran into the same issue and I had to contact other agents to understand what was going on. I submitted an ROV that was never processed or escalated, despite clear email traffic between me, my realtor, and the loan processor showing it was submitted. Instead, I was told repeatedly that no ROV had been submitted at all. I’ve had to speak to four different people about my loan, explaining the urgency of my timeline over and over. Even my loan officer was intermittently unavailable, and despite repeated requests, I never received a reliable phone number or email to reach someone consistently. Two incorrect closing disclosures only added to the chaos, further delaying my timeline. The final straw was learning that the lender told the VA they had not heard from me about whether I wanted to proceed with the ROV when in reality, I had told multiple people multiple times that I did not want to proceed and needed to move forward and to disregard it or I would not make my closing date. The VA even had to reach out to me directly to sort it out. In the end, I had to fix everything myself making every call, sending every email, and coordinating every step just to get my loan processed and funded. This was an exhausting and unnecessary ordeal that no homebuyer should have to face.
