      We have an outstanding order with Harbor Freight for a different item which turned out to be on very long backorder. Naturally we needed to get on with our work and had to buy the item elsewhere. However, HF do not provide the means to cancel the back-ordered item. Their website and customer service systems have no such facility. This creates unnecessary work and expense on our end, purely from a book-keeping point of view, let alone the issue of having to receive and return an item we can no longer use because of the delay from HF. I cannot recommend ordering anything at-all from Harbor Freight online. I'd recommend any of the four or five big competitors in preference to Harbor Freight. I have never had this issue with any of Harbor Freight's competitors and I am amazed to encounter it with such a big company.

      The store at *********************** Mall is lacking to say the least. The woman I dealt with was arrogant. They tell you they have the products I've seen on line....they don't! They bait and switch. Itt is the most miserable store I've seen yet I won't be back!!!!

      By far the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. No help and in fact would not let me speak to a supervisor and hung up on me. I will never buy from Harbor Freight again.

      This store #**** in **** , ** always uses deceptive advertising.... They recently advertise a work light for sale for like $11.....and the website says IN Stock....When I get to the store I am told its ************...Yet days go by and their website says the item is still in stock...VERY deceptive advertising to get me to come to their store

      I went to purchase a drop light from their store in ****, **. store #****.. their website says they have it in stock..I even bring a printout of this to the store...I arrive 15 minutes later and when I get there, I am told the item is unavailable...So I wasted my time....NOW a week later...their website says this droplight is "in stock"...... I get to the store and same thing, I am told its ************...when I ask how come it says in stock on your store's website, I get told..they dont know.... This is deceptive advertising

      At this ***********, ** store you can now count on their NEW POLICY being customer NO-SERVICE. I have been shopping at Harbor Freight for years and have never had this problem, which also means I have never had to look so closely at their "return policy", which has recently changed (after I got home to compare to older receipts). BEWARE.... This incident I'm about to describe, also pointed out to me that when you buy from Harbor Freight they now don't have to refund your money for any reason. As I noticed in their return policy, from the back of their receipt (which, conveniently, you can only read AFTER you have purchased from them).... "The manager has the right to refuse returns of any item, at any time, for any reason, regardless of receipt". (Policy #8), so much for 90 days. In the afternoon of October 23, 2022, I attempted to return my unopened, unused items that required the "supervisor" for return authority ****** The total of the return, $34.05. I was told that my receipt (i.e. "Proof of Purchase") and government ID was not good enough to complete this return and, that I also now needed to give my phone number to identify the sale record in the computer (even though my phone number was not used at the time of sale, nor was my name, meaning my phone number will not do them any good, since it is not in their system). I was further told that this phone number required "policy" was written within the return policy on the back of the receipt. I read it, and there is NO MENTION OF A PHONE NUMBER BEING NEEDED written in their policy on the back of the receipt. I didn't have a problem with following the written policy, but this guy making things up made me very suspicious. I asked to see the store manager, since this "supervisor" can't read his own policy, and I was told to come back to the store on Wednesday, since the store manager doesn't work on Tuesdays. If you can't trust them with the little things, you can't trust them with the big things.

      I have no issue with buying in store with Harbor Freight but online ordering is horrific. I've tried ordering 2 times on Harbor freight and both times were a horrible experience for me. The first item was a generator and after about a week or so it still said processing and I noticed I could just buy one in store a hour away and not ha e to pay $90 shipping and have it sooner. Very long story short. I contacted them and they said they would cancel my order and if it wasn't shipped next day it was canceled. So the next day I went and bought my generator and on the way home my card is charged for the other generator and it shows shipped on the website. So after hours on the phone and much frustration I call the trucking company who forwards me to another company and they agree to ship it back. After a couple weeks I'm still not refunded so I put in a claim against them and lost vecause they never got it back. They did refund my money but now it's 4 months later and it still shows it is shipped.
      Then I wanted a log splitter they sold but it was a online exclusive. I called customer service to find out if it was on backorder because I needed a splitter right away and they couldn't tell me but said if I order it and it's on backorder they will contact me and refund if I want. So a day goes by and no confirmation email and I checked spam. I check on my account and it says backordered so I send a email to cancel. No response. I called and again they say they have to send a email but if it shipped already I can only refuse it or call trucking company and pay shipping $90. But said to wait for a call about cancelling. Next day no call so I call back. Of course every time it's a long wait on phone. I had to get pretty irate with *********** but she went above and beyond to get it canceled in spite of the poor business practices of this company. I commend her. But that was a lot if work to cancel a order. I promise that I'll never buy online again. Just in store with H F

      I needed an item, searched online, found one "in stock" at harbor freight in ******. I called to make sure it was there before I drive 40 miles to get the item. It is technically in stock, it is the display model which "they will not sell". When I said they need to reflect in stock as being what they will sell. The person said I need to take that up with cooperate, amazing!

      I made a one time purchase at this store about 2 months ago, and since then, I get almost daily annoying notifications of of "great deals, daily specials", all annoying! There is no unsubscribe option I've emailed customer service to stop this annoyance, and they said they would stop. And yet they persist. I'll never go there again, even if they stop this time, because I know if I do, it will all start again

      NO return on unopened item, with receipt in less than 24 hrs after purchase. NO refund (with receipt in hand) without intrusive data collection September 30th, 2022 I purchased an item for cash for under $10 at Harbor Freight Tools. Did not open or damage the package in any way. Through clear packaging, was obviously not what size would be needed. In less than 24 hrs after purchase, with receipt in hand I tried to return to the store. Even with receipt, they require name, phone number and to just one last little piece, to scan in your Drivers License. None of this is made known at time of purchase, and the front of receipt states receipt needed for returns. HOWEVER on the back of the receipt, it states that the will collect the Drivers License information and possibly share with a 3rd party of the return that you made. You are a criminal just for bringing back an obviously un-opened item with receipt in hand! Do yourself a favor and any person you know, keep away from this junk dealer, who uses such deceptive practices and refuses even a refund less than one day later with receipt for an item that was simply not the appropriate size. Will never enter their door again, will tell of this to all who will listen and hopefully cost this company ****** times the items value in lost business. Tip for consumers: Be open and honest with any review, thus the offenders will always get what is coming to them. Even with cash purchase and receipt in hand in less than 24 hrs, on an un-opened package, harbor freight would not take a return without data collection and scanning your Drivers license. Information that they DO NOT share at checkout and will not get from me. I will not use this item, as I will share the experience on as much social media as possible, along with eventual photos of the still sealed package. Spread the word to all, stay away from doing any business with Harbor Freight Tools. It's no wonder they have such poor ratings, they work hard to achieve such!!!
