      Scam Alert for Wakefield and Associates as I have recently received phone calls, voicemail messages, and a text message informing me of an attempt to collect a debt. After several hours of research and multiple phone calls to the Real Wakefield and Associates phone numbers it has become clear that there is a SCAM currently in the works for this business. I am including three screenshots with important phone numbers that after confirmation with a representative for Wakefield and Associates they Do Not belong to this business.Before giving any personal information to a business or organization do your homework and hangup then call the business at a valid phone number. Having a legitimate debt is one thing but being taken advantage of by a scammer is something totally different.Dont become a statistic or victim of a crime.

      So I am to understand the phone calls and voicemails that were denied by Wakefield representatives on the day of this post are accurate. It took some one several days to respond to a Scam Alert, and the response was made at the end of business on a Friday.

      This company is ridiculous. I don't even want to give 1 star, cause they don't even deserve that. Reported me to credit bureau but I have never heard of them. If I've never heard of them obviously I have never received anything from them. Clearly no mail, email, phone call or messages from them. Called to see how they can report me if they have never even let me know about this. The first ****** I spoke with told me that didn't even have information on me. Well obviously you do have my info if you reported me duh! Spoke with manager ******, and he said they sent me a letter 4 months ago. I said I never received it. He told me it was never returned to them so obviously I did get it (cause you know nothing ever gets lost in the mail). And since when did a collection company send just 1 piece of mail.. correct... NEVER! It is extremely ridiculous this company can do these things. Absolute terrible business with awful customer service skills. I think complaints should be used to calculate a business rating. How else do you get true reviews? If you don't let me know that you are trying to get ahold of me, then how would I know?

      This company has called about a hospital bill. I ask them if they could tell me what it was for. They told me they had sent letters I told them I had not received them. They told me they were not in the business of sending out letter. He also said I needed to be a responsible person!

      This is a scam collection. Unprofessional as said I have a debt and I 2 choices. Pay them the total amount without giving any information who supposedly owe money to or give them a credit card and then they give you the information who you supposedly have a debt. First of all, never give your account number to anyone even if they say a dollar that's a red flag and giving them your credit card numbers your going to loose money and you have fallen into the scam! My suggestion is that if you are notified from wakefield to put a freeze on your accounts through the credit report agencies if wakefield got into your personal business on false pretenses then they can obviously get into more of your accounts depending on how much detail they have on you. I simply told them I'd see them in court and I don't loose! This company is nothing more than phishing to get people to pay money. Don't fall for it!

      One of the most predatory, unprofessional, dishonest, unethical, and illegal organizations I've ever encountered. They literally don't listen to a word I said to them. All they want is payment even if it's not your debt or it was already settled and/or paid or was from YEARS ago and was already discharged (such as hospital/medical debt that has a one year expiration). They had the audacity to try and collect on my father's debt! He passed away 10 years ago! This company really needs to be shut down. They don't follow nor care about the law. If they can BULLY you into paying, it's a win for them. To educate yourself about their scam-like ways of doing "business", just look them up online and you'll observe more than enough evidence to educate yourself. Imho, don't give them a dime until you have thoroughly researched the alleged debt. Then, know the law and if the debt has already expired and/or was discharged, do NOT pay them a dime. Instead, immediately report them to the State ************************* in your state by letter.

      Wakefieldfield and associates have reported that the bill for care on 07/15/2023 at ******* advocate was not paid and they reported in nov 2023 an outstanding balance of $915 against my credit. I sent to Wakefield my EOB showing payment. **** paid for this service in Oct 2023. In Nov 2024 Wakefield closed the debit and reopened it Nov of 2024. When I called they told me the *************** ****************** did not receive payment and they, CEP, resubmitted the complaint to Wakefield Nov 2024. Unfortunately, ****************** has been permanently closed and therefore could not have submitted this claim. I requested for them to send me proof of my debit for this service. At the very least they have not done their due diligence. With this new claim on my credit report as of Nov 2024 from an entity that is permanently closed is fraudulent. I have also reported them to the IL board of Insurance.
