I purchased a trial box of green chef and requested to cancel the rest to which they did not do, continued to charge my card even though I reached out 7 days before. Upon calling them requesting a refund they deny refund and speaking To a supervisor even though I requested one multiple times. They said a supervisor has to call me back.Business Response

When I made the initial purchase I was billed ***** and was later billed an additional *****. I called to cancel. When the order arrived I gave it back to the driver. The next morning the box was back on my front porch the driver had come back in the night and left it on my porch. I called GreenChef and explained ** made a dispute and they said the bank will make the adjustment in my favor and just keep the box. The dispute is complete and Im still being billed for the full amount. Its not my fault as a consumer there system didnt not bill me correctly at the initial transaction. I had been wanting to see if it was worth it to sign up for a home delivery meal system and decided to check out Green Chef. Unfortunately, they do not allow you to view the menu's without activating an account and putting in your credit card information, which I did. It took me less than 10 minutes to see that it was not the kind of menu that I would like so I cancelled it. Which is relatively easy and got a confirmation email. I did notice that in the email it said the last shipment would be 4/20 but thought it was a stock statement and not pertinent as there was never a FIRST shipment. In the email, there is no statement that canceling required any further action. I didn't realize until a few days later when it said my shipment had been sent that "cancelling" hadn't canceled the shipment. I had to dig through the FAQ's to find the spot that had a number to call if you wanted to cancel the shipment As it was too late to cancel that shipment, it did come. The box had leaked through on the corners and broken open at the bottom. One of the chicken pouches was warm but the rest was still very cold.Business Response

I cancelled my account on the website and then was still charged $114.91. I let this go and assumed I had made a mistake. So I emailed customer service to verify that my account was cancelled. They responded and verified that I had successfully cancelled my account on 4/15. Then on 4/18, I was charged an additional $41.52 for an order I didnt place. Thankfully this charge did not go through. I went on to verify that my account was deactivated and in doing so, found that it was not. I keep trying to deactivate my account, but it keeps saying that I have already paid for an order. I would like a refund for the amount paid and for my account to be deleted entirely from the Green Chef database as it appears that deactivating does not stop the charges.Business Response

4/12@1:35PM I registered at GreenChef. Providing payment and delivery address info prior to viewing the menu was required. Their initial welcome e-mail said I had to make changes to an order by 4/10 for a 4/17 delivery, which was impossible given the sign up date. This email did not include any confirmation of any meals or even any dietary preference. 4/12@1:40PM I viewed the menu and immediately returned to their website to cancel. I didnt like the menu and there was no way of modifying anything for allergies. I cancelled within 5 minutes of registering. I never confirmed any meals and never received any confirmation of meals. 4/14@5:55PM I saw a $91.93 charge on my CC from GC. I called GC and was told that I had to make any changes 5 days prior to the delivery date (contrary to their welcome e-mail). We agreed that date was 4/12. We agreed I had cancelled 5 minutes after registering on 4/12 and that I had in not selected any meals or a delivery date. She said she would have document my issue and ask a supervisor to make any adjustments. She put me hold to speak to her supervisor and hung up on me 4 minutes later. 4/14@6:05PM I called back and spoke with a ******. After explaining the situation again, ****** spoke with a supervisor and offered me a 50% discount since the order was already in the system. He would not let me speak with the supervisor, could not tell me the meals that were in my order and could not give me tracking information because my order had not been processed yet. I was told a supervisor would call me back in 24 hours (even over the weekend). I never received confirmation my order, my meals, or my shipment. 4/15 No call back. 4/16 No call back. 4/17 No call back, but I got a shipment confirmation and a delivery an hour later of meals that I had not selected. Due to severe allergies, two entire meals cannot be eaten or even prepared in my home. The last meal contains many ingredients that we do not like and would not choose.Business Response

I canceled within minutes of checking into the service offered. I then get text messages and emails today stating order being delivered. I have no idea what is even being delivered because I canceled. I contacted customer service and they also show I canceled, but state because its a subscription service they have no ability to refund. I have canceled then order. I am a first time customer and was excited to receive my meals to cook for my family of 4. Upon receiving the box half of the ingredients are missing. I ordered and paid for 4 meals with 4 servings. I received 4 for with 2 servings. This amount of food will not feed my family of 4. I reached out to customer service for a resolution. I asked about having the other 2 servings sent to me over night, but unfortunately that was not within the scope of their business. I then asked for a refund since I did not receive what I ordered. Well their system doesn't allow for a refund. They could only give me a partial refund because they arent able to get a refund from the local supplier they order through and recommended that I make 2 meals each night to feed 4 people. And at that I would only have 2 nights of meals for my family and extra cooking involved instead of the 4 nights I ordered. I asked to speak to a manager and unfortunately their managers do not speak to customers. I spent over an hour chatting with customer service and I am completely appalled of how this business is ran. I am a long time hello fresh customer and I am aware both companies are owned under the same umbrella corporation. This now affects my opinion of hello fresh too. I will never give this company another chance and will be deactivating my hello fresh account as well. Good riddens to the poor customer service provided especially when the error was on their end.Business Response

My sister sent us a "free" box of Green Chef meals in order to try the service. In order to receive the box the website required my credit card information. My understanding was that it required this information to choose the meals, enter the site, and pay for shipment of the box. I was charged $10.99. I never checked any boxes or did anything on the website to indicate that I would like to sign up for a subscription plan. I was not sent any information to indicate that I had signed up, either. Then on 3/30/23 my credit card was charged $145 for a box of food that we did not order, do not want, and have not received yet. I called and spoke with ******** in customer service who explained that it has already been processed and there is no way to receieve a refund. She also said that her manager, ****, would be calling me within 1-2 hours and he never called. When I asked what ****'s last name was she said, "I cannot share that information with you". This whole process strikes me as very deceptive. Why have I been chardged for something I did not order and have not receieved? I can see from the other complaints on here and on the internet that I am not alone. I will never order from them, will continue to pursue a refund, and will alert others to beware of their deceptive business model.Business Response
