We just received 2 boxes containing 8 meals and our credit card was billed $173.05. We DID NOT place this order. We would never order unprepared meals. None of the meals sent are anything we would ever eat.I waited on hold forever, and gave up after reading all the other complaints here about customer service being useless and unhelpful.I would have rejected the delivery and sent it back, but the label states that returns are not accepted.Business Response

I personally had a subscription with Green Chef for my family. I claimed the free box offer for my work where I am a cooking teacher. Green Chef continued to send boxes weekly. When I went to the website to cancel, there were ***************. There was no invoice information or account history associated with the school email and credit card number I entered. Green Chef charged my non-profit school over $836.55 for 9 boxes. 3 of the boxes were never received. I would like to request a refund for the 3 that were never received. $276. There were also 3 boxes that had spoiled food. Green Chef is guilty of deceptive practices and I need your guidance to hold them accountable.Business Response

I "deactivated" my account through Green Chef in December 2022. It was a lengthy process to even find on their website how to do this. Just today I was charged AGAIN. I contacted their support who stated they would not refund my charge of $90 though I had attempted to cancel this service. Had their instructions been more explicit, this could have been avoided.Business Response

I tried to look at the meal options for Green Chef on January 7, but the only option to do so is to put in your credit card information, which I did at 1:30PM. I chose meals and then decided I didn't want to move foward with the purchase or subscription and located the *** section to learn how to cancel my account. I followed the directions on the website which said you have now cancelled/deactivated account. I also got an email that stated my account was cancelled at 1:45PM, but did not notice that they were still going to deliver meals, which I thought I had cancelled already. On January 11 there were two charges on my account, one for the discounted promotional subscription of $55.08 and the other I was unsure of for $67.92. I called and chatted online with customer service and supervisors for over 3 hours (and was disconnected at least 5 times) and they continued to tell me it was too late to cancel the food order that has already gone out and to process a refund. The said the extra charge was for upgraded meals I had selected (which was not clear onthe website, nor was my intent or included on the original belling statement). I emailed my concerns also and did not receive a response back. Their practices seem to be purposefully confusing, shady, and misleading. Why they could not offer a refund or stop the order 6 days ahead of time seems unheard of. Or to comp the meal and offer a refund.I followed these directions then got the email, which is quite vague and does not specifically say to call in to cancel the meal delivery. I inferred that since my cancellation was successful the meals would be cancelled too since it was all within a 15 minute time frame and clearly within 7 days from the delivery date of January 17.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I followed the direction on their website to deactivate/cancel my subscription and due to their deceptive and shady practices, my account was canceled, but not subscription. I was also charged a different amount than on the receipt. I asked for the order to be cancelled via customer service and to be refunded and was refused.

I am trying to remove my credit card information as well as my account from the Green Chef system but they are just giving me the runaround. I used the Green Chef meal delivery service for 19 weeks and finally canceled after they continued to send rotten food in the boxes. I started requesting that they remove my credit card information in October of 2022. The representatives I spoke with all assured me they would remove it, and then when not removed, said they had escalated the case to a supervisor and I would receive a call, but no call came and the card is still on the account. Then I finally was able to get a supervisor to call me back - that supervisor had the same name and same sounding voice as the representative I spoke to, so who knows if it was really a supervisor and he tried to get me to reactivate my account to prove to me that the card was deleted on their end, but was just not showing in the system. I did not fall for this trick. Now they are telling me it will take another ***** days to remove my card and my account - despite the fact that I have been doing this for more than 100 days now. I don't know what else to do and have no faith that they will actually remove any of my information. They say I can rest assured it will be done and I will hear from someone within this ridiculous time frame, but then also that if I don't hear from someone to reach back out to them at a different email address. And when I don't accept this as a response, tell me that a supervisor will reach out to me, but no one ever does. I always get a different representative whenever I reach out and I don't believe that anyone at this company is actually doing what they say they are doing. I just want my information removed from their system, which should be a thing I am able to do myself without going through all of this hassle.Business Response

My order has not arrived on time for the past 2 weeks. I called today and spoke with ******. I asked for my account to be deactivated and refunded for next weeks order. He told me he could not cancel my order for next week because it was past the cutoff date. I have attached screenshots saying that my order was to arrive yesterday by 9pm CST. It did not arrive. I also attached the screenshot of their website showing that they closed yesterday at 6pm CST. This made it impossible for me to cancel my order on Saturday for next week since I had to wait until 9pm CST for my delivery that never arrived and customer service closed at 6pm CST. About two weeks ago I went onto Green Chef site to see if they would be a good fit me and my family, they werent. To look at the meal options you setup an account. Immediately canceled this. Today, I received a pre-selected menu of food that I would never eat. Called the Green ************ and was told that they automatically place a pre-selected menu for every first time account, without permission and nothing can be done about it.Business Response

I canceled my subscription in december 2022 online. The online message stated do you still want to cancel, you will be losing $20 in promotions. I clicked yes. I was notified on 1/3/2023 that they do not have a record of my cancellation and a meal is being delivered on 1/5/2023. Unfortunately, I had cleaned out my computer deleting all messages. Is there any way to recoup my money since I don't have email proof of cancellation. I never picked out my meals so the meals being delivered are not what I would have ordered and don't care for what is being sent and I'm paying $80 which is alot of wasted money.Business Response

On December 17th I signed up to receive a Discount from ID.ME as a teacher and a first-time customer. The main reason I signed up was for the discount and to give this company a try. The first box that I looked at contained meals with shrimp and I have a shellfish allergy. I applied my discount code and when I had to go in and select the meals I switched to two premium meals because I can't eat shrimp. I fully expected to pay the difference in those meals. However, when the credit card was charged (Prior to actually selecting the meals you receive BTW) the discount was taken off. I ended up paying $139 for the original cost of the box plus the two meal upgrades. Yesterday, I called to ask about the discount after noticing my credit card was charged the entire amount and was told that a discount was not applied even though it show it before I ordered. I then created a new account with a different email address and again applied a code which worked UNTIL I selected the meals again. After calling customer service and spending over 40 minutes on hold I canceled the second order. This was not the worst part. Yesterday I received my original order and one of the orders of chicken was turning green. I have pictures to verify. I cooked another packet of chicken to see if it was just the one packet and it was funny tasting as well so I did not eat it after sampling it. So basically I am out $139 on what was supposed to be a $65 dollar purchase and I am afraid to even try the food. I will upload pictures if it allows me to. I would not recommend this company to anyone trying to meal prep or eat healthier.Business Response
