Losing/lost $12,200 ******* because of poor quality, poor communication, horrible atmosphere when buying $726,000 home. **Roof leaked after months of addressing missing/exposed felt paper**. Plumbing not tied to studs at main hose bib/ trusses. We had purchased a framed, lathed, plumbed home which was supposed to be the model. The home had been built and put on hold due to selling out the neighborhood before completion. Tile was stacked on roof with felt paper exposed to the elements for months before contract was put on home. Questions were raised from 1st day of contract for condition of felt paper, plumbing, twisted framing that had been sitting etc. We felt as if we were always just getting a car salesman promises/answer with no true solutions for making us feel at ease with corrections to be made. I don't ever write reviews for items, but this has been such a horrible experience I feel like I need to put it out there. I have had new homes built by other builders( ************, Courtland, Adair) through the years. There are always speedbumps while building, but this was more of just giant sinkhole with no way out. Never would I imagine having such a terrible experience with the highest priced home I would have ever bought in my life and end up losing $12,000 + in the deal. If you don't like a $20 item from a store, you return it and get your money back, but have a terrible experience with every level of Richmond American and you will not get your money back and end up paying for poor quality along with a feeling of pure disappointment. I have friends who have had multiple problems with their poorly built Richmond homes as well. Lessoned learned, would never recommend this home builder.

I would steer clear of this company. Horrible horrible company. We way overpaid for our house in Sky ranch neighborhood. So many broken promises because we bought a model. The employees are also the most unprofessional I have ever seen. I would NEVER again buy a Richmond home. Go with Oakwood or Lenar homes. Richmond will literally blow smoke up your **** & never communicate, they just ignore you and hope you go away. This neighborhood also has horrible drainage issues.

I purchased a beautiful home to be built and ready within 10 months, at Seasons in ***********. I purchased the home October of 2021. It is now October of 2022, The windows are in. I called **** my sales person every week and every week promises were made and broken Week after week. I canceled my agreement as the continual lies would never stop. I continued to witness the doors open. Supposedly giving more lies knowing the truth that behind the scenes a nightmare was brewing for innocent buyers.I woke up daily nuts. Richmond American refused to return my money. Please Beware

Does it make any difference after we write review? Anyone hearing us? The quality of product and workmanship is very bad. Richmond only promise and dont deliver. Some of the issues to list:The quality of goods used is very inferior. We spent a lot of money on home gallery options however the bad quality products are provided.Example: Backsplash -tiles are broken and grout is not completely filled, large gaps between tiles, surface is not smooth.Cabinets are broken, incorrect types of screws were installed. The cabinet doors are all damages, edges are in bad condition. In all washrooms the grout is not filled properly, the silicon is not applied properly, we had water leak issues We have all windows of different patterns installed There are broken windows frames The windows and doors are tilted Door k**** are not working properly, some shaking The tap in bathtub and shower does not provide slow water flow The walls are not straight Splinters coming out of the covered deck is puncturing hands and feets of my wife and kids.Doors are not locking properly Damages were there and scratched on countertop.Paint and drywall is not replaced still pending.Door frames are not straight Different patterns of door k**** are installed.Tap have loose fixtures Grout not properly filled under sink Mirrors are still pending Carpet have stains Stair case rail have cracks Broken and also old wood on Deck Concrete below deck pillar is not proper, Deck is hanging. Who knows how county approved it. Look like they bribed or something Floor LVT makes squeaking noises Feel like banging our heads against wall after buying home from Richmond. My wife is in depression, her migraine issue is worsening, we don't get sleep thinking of all open issues in house. Richmond have no shame, they just want our hard earned money and no care for us. They will find place in h*** also. They don't care about customer satisfaction, they dont want us to be happy after we spending tons of money on purchase

Over build, under supplied, very poor build management to availability of supplies. Poor workmanship from contractors. Beer cans all over build site during build with police cameras present. Staff unprofessional takes 30 days for cancellation to actually go threw and get letter from them. Never use Richmond again. Found way better builder, to many to choose from other then Richmond. Recommend using ******************************** to get anywhere with them in **.

Worst Company ever to do business with. Back in March we became interested in a home with Richmond, specifically in one lot. We were told when the lot became open, we will be notified. The day the Lot became available we received a call and told the sale rep to move forward with sending the contract and we were able to make the down payment right now. He stated he will call us back once he preps the contract. 2 seconds after hanging up the line, we received a call back the lot was sold from under us. We again decided to move on with them with 2 different interests in 2 additional lots. But was told it was not opening up yet but will be notified. We also stated we would stay in contact. We received a call that the Lot we originally wanted would be available again. So, we immediately decided to proceed since it was the original lot, we were interested in. We had a very big lack of communication with the inside lender who continued to keep running credit multiple times on my husband which a month before closing she ran it continuously which she should have not since we were already initially approved. After the inside lender ran it the last time not even a month before closing which to remind you, she ran it 3 weeks previously so no need to do it again. She verbally stated it was denied and still a month later received no letter of denial. We spoke with the sale rep who ensured us we could receive an extension on the contract so we can work on getting an outside lender. Without us being notified or a communication of extension I received an email on termination of contract. I have tried reaching out to the sales manager as well as the supervisor for the loan officer with no assistance provided or communication. We moved forward with our outside lender and received the initial disclosure for approval. I again reached out to keep them informed and was told the contract was terminated and they sold the house 2 weeks before closing. They also kept our deposit on top of it.

Hello,Here is my story. Just like the others. We closed April 2022. We are still waiting of kitchen cabinet door replacement and moldings to be installed amongst a laundry list of other items. One window has a different latch than the others. I guess they thought we would not notice. The furnace would not stay on. The **** guy came to look at it but did not know the cause of the problem. My husband took a look and realize the furnace was connected to the light switch. Similar with the garbage disposal. It would not turn on. We looked under the cabinet and it was not plugged in. Guess what? Once we plugged it in, it still did not turn on. We pointed it out to the superintendent. He could not figure it out. My husband looked and found that the disposal was connected wrong. The door frame has come away from the house. Someone came and took pictures. That was a month ago. No status at all. Most all plants and trees have died. Reported this three months ago. Still no plants/trees.A few items were mentioned to the superintendent prior to reaching 30 days from move-in. Nothing got done, then after 30 days, we were told to send to warranty. The roll over guy quit. The warranty guy quit. So far, no new person has been in touch. The Superintendent changed four times prior to closing. The design center is a joke. They are located in ********. I had to take off work because Saturday and Sunday was full. Two months after selecting options, they called to say we needed to pick a different fireplace surround. But, they would not accommodate a weekend. I had to take off of work again and work with someone other than my first person.***Add me to the class action lawsuit, please.***These are serious issues with Richmond Homes.Don't get me started on how they took away the 3% incentive through no fault of mine two weeks before closing. Grrrr. I am still hot on that topic. Nostrils are flared.I am not proud to say that I have a Richmond Home. They are bad news.Hiawatha *
