I have waited weeks to write this review because it was too hard to write. We were having our dream home built and went through the builders *************** and signed at 3.3% to which we were assured it was locked in at. Despite many attempts to get in contact with the *************** at the time we then was called to sign the Morgage again but at 5.5% pricing us out of our home. We had to pull out from our build just a couple months before we were due to move in and lost our deposit. This has devastated our family in so many ways. Not only did we have to tell our kids who were very excited about their new home but it has put us in a position where we cant get the house we have been working for!!! And the interest rate has made it impossible to get anything in comparison . This company screwed us , I have sobbed breaking my heart for weeks not that this company cares. We have to watch the place we had built now be sold. Do you know what devastation you have caused my family!!!!! Try telling your autistic son all his plans for his room and area was no more, he has been struggling with the stress from this. We took him to the design center to feel carpets to make sure he could tolerate the feel with his sensory issues!!! We chose out our custom features , we were excited about this home!!! We were invested in this home. I just want others to know what our family are going through. We drove by this house watching the progress with our excitement for months. You have caused unimaginable pain! And now we see our place has been purchased by another family. There is no word to even come close to how this feels!

We signed a contract to purchase our new home from Richmond American Homes of **, LLC on November 1, 2022.When my broker and I asked the sales rep from (Richmond American on site, at ************ community in ************, **) about the appliances included in our home, the rep told us at first that it came with a stove/range, over the range microwave, dishwasher, Fridge, washer, and a dryer. After the home was completed, to our surprise the fridge, washer and dryer were not there. We asked our sales rep on site, and he told us that this particular house does not come with the appliances mentioned above. When my broker and I asked him to email us information on getting these appliances throughout the month of November, he kept on avoiding in sending us this email stating we'd be getting a fridge, washer, and dryer as well. After writing an email complaint to their ******* division president, I got a call from their VP of Sales on the presidents behalf, and she was of no help. She basically said, what was in the home change order part of the contract, listed what we were getting. However, we brought this to the attention of the ************ community rep before going this far with our complaint, and hed promised to get us a fridge, washer, and dryer. None of this happened, and he basically went back on his word. Even his sales manager in ************ was totally useless and did not care about our concerns.Richmond American Homes is all about making the sale, and not having a followthrough customer service approach to the needs of their new homeowners. If they dont plan on giving potential homeowners what they said they will, just be honest and transparent. Dont play dirty with our hard-earned money to make a quick sale by enticing with such promises. We would like for Richmond American to reimburse us for the refrigerator, washer, and dryer, as we will have to purchase these before we move into our new house in the middle of January 2023.

Purchased spec home in 2021. Possibly the worst purchase decision of my adult life. Poor quality, poor workmanship, poor construction, poor/no response to existing warranty issues. On our 4th warranty agent. Master shower has been fully gutted and replaced TWICE since we moved in. Damage done to our carpets with no repair during the bathroom replacement. Windows do not shut well even after warranty was called to "repair" them. Kitchen Island counter top cracked shortly after moving in, now replacing it with two pieces because it's "cheaper for them. Island walls not level, and refuse to repair. Upstairs bathroom has a box cutter slice across the counter top - refuse to fix. Still waiting on paint on my shutters that were just installed a year later. No responsibility taken for issues and blames on homeowner.

GROUP OF CON ARTISTS. I just closed on my 1st home. It is a part of the urban collection at ***** farm in **********. Richmond did everything possible to try to keep my deposit. I was under contract from 02/22-11/22, I was approved by their lender for the incentive. When I went to do my walk through, little to none of my choices from the home store were installed (missing shower heads, wrong doorknob, paint in sink, white carpet full of mud, paint chips, grout cracked). My appliances did not work, my refrigerator did not produce water and had broken shelving, the dishwasher was a temporary small one. I noted all of these issues. On the day of closing 11/28 I showed up to the house and nothing was done, I informed them I was unable to close due to the poor condition of the home. The construction manager said, I am telling you they are going to force you to close. The sales rep for Richmond had some sense and said they will make it right. The next day I received a call from the superintendent and head of sales stating that if I did not move in by the end of November (the next day) they were keeping my deposit. Their reasoning was once they receive a certificate of occupancy from the city they expect the buyer to close. Meaning they pull items like shower heads, hand rails, appliances from other homes they are building to get this certificate. SO if you order anything besides stock items they will make you close and tell you your things are on order. They are a bunch of crooks, take your money elsewhere. There are 3 quick move in homes on my street. I called the ****************** to report this shady business practice, I reached out to the local news and I threatened them with legal action. I closed on 12/06 for an additional $2,000 because I did not close by 11/30. Drive down **** to see the homes for sale.

There is a defect in the house and I have been trying to get the builder fix it since Nov 2021. There is NO outlet to the dryer duct and thank God for HIS protection that over ************************************* our home. I have not heard anything from Richmond American Homes (RAH) on this HIGH RISK and HAZARDOUS defect by the builder. Would greatly appreciate if you can help us out in addressing this and we can sit and talk if you can come by our house and take a look because visual always gives you a clearer picture because living with a KEY DEFECT by the builder everyday causes anxiety to us the residents of the home. Thank you!

We were mislead by the sales manager in ********, *********. She showed ** 3 models and we loved the kitchen. As the house we put a deposit on ***** began to have cabinets in the kitchen and other items being done. We saw they were not soft close and a lot less cabinets as the model. ******* said they would add a set of drawers and a pull out trash. But we would lose two cabinets. We agreed but it was really bothering us more and when other things were wrong. A hole through the kitchen wall for a microwave. The microwave was ventless so why a hole. They taped it up on the outside but who knows what happened inside. We pulled out before the walkthrough and they now refuse to give us our deposit back please do not buy a house from this company Richmond American. We are now in Airbnb due to selling our house to buy the Richmond American house. ??
