      Damaged in box and wouldnt let us return and refund or exchange. I have never had to deal with such terrible company. This company sold furniture that came damaged in the box. We provided pictures upon opening it while the item was still in the box. And they refused to allow us to return for a refund. They claimed it was impossible for it to be damaged in the box, So basically the company is insinuating that we are lying about how it was damaged.

      Worst customer service and waste of time! Placed an online order and given confirmation to pick up the order in person at Englewood location after an hour .. drove 30 minutes to be told they did not have my items in stock and I could “wait a few days or so” for the items to be sent to the englewood location or go pick them up from another store. Service agent said they “don’t work in customer service,” so she couldn’t help me with anymore information than she gave me. She directed me to the showroom to “find someone to talk to,” if I wanted. A salesperson looked up my order and reiterated that I could wait for delivery to their location or go to another store to pick up my order, but I’d have to pay more because the other stores have different sales tax. I asked for a refund and told I’d “have to call customer service for a refund..” I asked for a manager and told to wait while they found someone for me. A third associate asked if I needed help, to which I replied I was waiting for a manager.. I explained my situation and she told me they could not transfer my items to their store because they are made of wood and to fragile for shipping.. but that my payment “should transfer to another location,” if I’d like to drive another hour to get my order. I asked again about a refund and she said she could help with that.. after the last sales person said I could only get a refund if I called customer service.. the same sales person who went to find a manager and still had not returned. I expressed my disappointment to the 3rd employee who helped with my refund, and shared the long time business I have done with AFW, and all she could say was, “yeah, I get it, I’m so sorry..” I was told to go online and leave a review when I asked for a customer service number to call to give my complaint. I’ve never been so disappointment for the incompetence and horrible customer satisfaction as I received today. Is AFW so successful that every customer doesn’t matter?

      Very disappointed. We bought new sofas a year ago, and they are not holding up. One of them is falling apart. The cushions are collapsing as well. I understand normal wear and tear, but this is unacceptable after only a year. We have gone back to the Glendale location to ask for advice, but the only words the employees have is "you need to call customer service". We have done that, but nothing has happened. We will not be going back. I guess the saying you get what you pay for is true.

      We purchased **** cocktail table (product# ****C) on July 1st 2023 and picked it from store on July 4th. After few months of usage, the table is having bubbles all over it (both on the top wood board and the bottom wood board). We filed a warranty claim as it is clear a manufacturing defect due to the quality of wood and it is all over the table not just at a particular place.We got the response from the warranty team stating it is because how we used it. However, it is not because of the way we used it but it is due to the quality of wood. The warranty claim should be honored and either the refund or a replace should be provided.

      Terrible service from ************** and the whole American warehouse furniture staff. I had to up my sales representative. They ran my check for $1300 instead of what it was written for which was a $1000. Said they would call me if there was any issues. I had balance due without any knowledge because my sales rep ************** didnt follow up. I didnt receive my furniture on the original due date, So finally after 2 hours of waiting on hold getting thrown around everywhere everything got fixed Saturday with the acct manager ******* and general manager. Got $40 off delivery. Today Monday 09/25/23 once again my furniture was left out of the delivery when I was promised it would be done right this time. Once again Ive been on the phone two hours for them to say they didnt know what happened and would call me back. Its been over an hour with no call back. At this point they do not care about the customer or the inconvenience this has caused.0 out of 10

      Purchased a dresser 9/9/23 later that evening I noticed the same exact dresser was $50 cheaper at Ashley ********************** so I wrote an email to customer service to see if they could refund the difference, they finally responded 9/15 and asked for proof and theyd look into it, so I provided proof 9/16. Still nothing back from them, I sent a follow up email on the 20th and the 22nd, still no reply. Terrible customer service. Would not recommend.

      We bought a house full of furniture and the coffee table had a defect in it. They came out and said yep they will get another one sent out, and didnt hear from them again. I called again and told them to just leave the new top by ******* to door and they agreed. They never did that and no one ever showed up. I called customer service and asked to speak to a manager and she said she was so I asked to speak to a manager that maybe wanted to help me resolve the issue, she transferred me and come to find out they are all managers there. They gave me attitude and when I asked for her name she told me and asked for her employee id number and she told me *****. They should not be in customer service. I just want a new table top like promised and they have notes in the system they said but all I got was attitude. I will never buy from them again.

      In early September I purchased an adjustable lift for my bed at the insistence of my Dr. I was told this may not work with my existing bed and after a few days I realized it in deed did not. A technician came out. Stated that it was quite obvious that the delivery people knew the frame wasnt going to wor! I called AFW in ******************* and spoke with **** explaining the situation and he assured me that a sleigh bed I purchased would work. The bed was delivered, set up and immediately upon making the bed the side rails came off! I immediately contacted the store spoke with *** who and asked that everything thing be picked up. I was done dealing with these shenanigans. *** informed me that he would not be picking up anything. Regardless of how I continued to impress upon him the situation he was not hearing me, not helpful and told me Its sounds like you are sick and needed to go to a medical supply store! I am not sick.By the way I am disabled. *** just wasnt hearing that the issue was the frame I purchased and not the lift. I was due to leave for a extended trip and *** said he would send a tech out to look at the frame when I returned. Sadly, my trip ended as the maker seemingly had other plans. I contacted AFW upon my return and was informed that AFW had no intention of making good on their promises to rectify the problem. Last week they picked up the frame. I was mortified to discover that I was charged a restocking fee of $107.02 and a delivery fee so that AFW could pick up their poor quality furniture. I live on SSDI. I reported the problem immediately and I feel as though this is predatory. Why should a customer be charged to pickup ******************** that falls apart constantly? As an aside because I was away a majority of the time the frame was in my home I slept with that frame around my bed a total of 4 times. Im seeking resolution by recouping at the very least the delivery charge for picking up sub par product. My opinion of AFW has been forever changed.

      WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I ordered an ***************** from them by the end of July. It was a special order, and they told me it should arrive within a month. This way is a lie. I called by mid-August to ask for updates; they had nothing and told me to wait till the end of the month and that it might be delivered by the first week of September.I called on September 1st, and they are still waiting for updates. I visit the store myself and ask politely to have them take a look at the order and do something about it. They told me they would call me a few days after checking what was happening.I got a call the week after telling me they received the sofa and were willing to deliver it the next day. I asked them if they could provide it the following weekend, and they said they would. I have the delivery scheduled today (Saturday). I received a call 40 minutes before the scheduled time, letting me know they should arrive between 9 and 10 a.m. I waited, and no one arrived by 10 a.m. I called the number that called this morning only to be told that my delivery was canceled because they found out that the sofa was damaged in transit to their warehouse. That same warehouse where they allegedly received it last week. It has been a week, and they did not inspect the item, or at least that's what they want me to believe.Now, I am asked to wait 4 to 8 weeks again for them to ask the manufacturer to make a new one; there is nothing they can do about it. They need help to expedite the process. Add to that the customer service behavior. First, they don't notify me about the cancelation, have me wake up early on weekends, and only tell me when I call. They act like this was not their fault and that this is on the manufacturer. YOU HAD IT FOR ONE WEEK IN THE WAREHOUSE, AND NO ONE BOTHERED TO MAKE SURE THE **** WAS IN GOOD SHAPE?!Because of them, I missed the summer sale prices at ******, where I could have ordered directly for the same price. Now, I am forced to settle for less.

      Our apologies that the special ordered sofa was found to have been damaged when we pulled it from the warehouse location to have it prepped for delivery. The approximate new delivery date to our warehouse from the manufacture is 10/18/23. We also apologize that we are unable to expedite the production of the special order or the shipment to our warehouse from the manufacture. If the customer would like to cancel the order for a full refund we completely understand and we will do that, if the customer requests for us to. Thank you, AFW

      Less than a year ago my house designer chose to furnish my entire house with American Furniture Warehouse product. I thought she would consider quality over price as far as furniture durability. Less than a year I've had ***** their store manager tell me customer usage, not poor quality, is the reason my dining chair is unraveling. Although their office chair which has a broken arm isn't a manufacturer defect nor can it be determined if I'ved placed my weight on the arm or applied excessive force. In both cases I'm inconvenienced to pay pickup fee, restocking fee or parts fee. I told *****, if his product hadn't broken there would be no need for a restocking fee for a product durability in question. And that I would be willing as a customer to pay more if I can afford having to experience his humiliating suggestions of my liability. Somehow they attribute wear to my dining chair but to their broken office chair they don't. I asked if both are exposed to wear and are their product designed to be more durable? He wouldn't answer me. Lasting less than a year is never expected ever from common use. I don't understand their warranty's significance or benefits for their customers because in both instances they are requesting money from me in order to honor my product warranty. Even if their product breaks they charge a restocking fee and put back on the floor to be sold again with the same level of quality. ***** the manager showed me examples of product they placed back on the floor for customers to buy.
