  I want to give zero star. Comparing to Fidelity, empower is totally horrible. Nothing is transparent in their accounting. When you call them, they could not explain to you when your return is so low. Why it charged you so much fee. Only thing they told us to talk your employer. Totally disaster customer service

  If I could give zero stars I would. This is the worse retirement/ 401k platform I've ever dealt with and I've been working for 35 years. **************** is bad. Most speak English but does not understand or comprehend English. There is no communication amongst themselves. My money had been sitting in limbo for over a week and no one reaches out to you to let you know what the problem is. When I called after being on hold for over an hour, they said the problem is my address. It didn't have an apartment number *** I must go to HR to have them add apartment number even though they have been confirming and verifying my address everytime I've called for a week. No one ever said the apartment number was holding me back for a week and I'm in the middle of a hardship. Why is it so hard to get my money? Beware

  Employer just moved us to Empower and it has been a disaster. Accounts were unavailable for over two weeks, and we still can't access the self-directed brokerage accounts. I called and they said it was an IT issue, that was days ago and the problem persists. Online chat is useless as is sending them an email. And on the phone you are transferred several times before you can talk to someone that knows what's going on. And even then they can't resolve the issue.

  Being a retired sworn law enforcement officer ******************** consolidated my accounts. This has caused me to lose tax benefits. I have had to file a complaint with the ************** attorney general's office. We are now waiting for a reply from ********************. The ************** attorney general's office has recognized their error and is working with me to correct this. Great caution should be used when working with empower retirement. Not a company I would recommend.

  The worst company to deal with. They are using returned piece of mail as an excuse to hold my pension. After completing, notarizing and mailing by certified mail address change form, I am still not getting my pension for second month in a raw. Despite their acknowledgement that form is received and everything is fine.Another issue: I asked for **** form to be emailed to me (there is no access to this form on their website) - the response was: "We will let you know in 5 days"... No comments...

  I dont like that they play with the stock market with their clients money and they dont show detailed information they are obviously stealing from the customers and have been for a long time plus charging interest for borrowing your own money thats kinda stupid

  I have used multiple other retirement companies in my career and this is by far the worst.?The worst group of people to handle YOUR FUNDS! Hardship request is the hardest thing to get with this company.?Worse customer service. I have a terminal illness and have been fighting with these people for MY OWN money.?They also charged a ton of fees on my withdrawal. Avoid at all costs!

  This is arguably the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. I am doing a withdraw to go back and get my masters degree and they have kept me on hold on hours and when i do in contact with someone they transfer me out again. I've been transferred 4 times in one call and the 4th representative has hung up on me. They don't call back when you schedule a call back and they tell me i need more paperwork and every time I submit more paperwork they come back and say they need more information. Absolutely terrible customer service and their "supervisors" are just as bad. You guys are causing a lot of people who need their money even more hardships and stress.
