      If I could give them zero stars I would. I have set up three separate appointments to do a rollover out of the Empower retirement account and have not been called all three times. I have spent at least an hour on hold and get bounced around to various representatives, most of whom seem to be not based in *****************. This is a horrible company, and I would not recommend any employer to do any work with them.

      Why do companies do business with this particular company? **************** is awful. They switch you from one person to another, and no one can explain why or what they are doing. It has two kinds of accounts - "premium" and "broker." If anyone can explain the difference between the two they are a genius. What happens is each time you want to do something, an advisor will tell you you can only do that with the other account. The place is a mess. I'm ready to take my money out and park it with someone who knows what they are doing.

      I was trying to rollover a 403 B that was closing into my 401k. After 8 calls ,the team at Empower was not able to make that happen. The money ended up leaving my account without my knowledge and being transferred to a default company. I had to call Empower to find out where $25,000 went. Empower will no longer have my business. Something that should have been simple was not.

      I called them regarding Roll Over. They connected to different reps ********* then there was a an American guy who was rude, he was trying to mimic my english accent.

      I requested a hardship withdrawal due to hurricane *** on October 7th its now October 27th, past the turn around time. It just says still in review, I called several times and spent 50 minutes on hold and transferred 3xs just to be told we are waiting for a response from your employer. Why isnt the app showing progress on whats needed? Why does it seem like nobody knows whats going on? When I called on Oct 24th they couldve just said that and I couldve contacted my employer, to advise them some mystery approval is now needed although they just sent empower a letter! Why cant you send an email to let your customers know where they stand past the turnaround time. The worst empathic statement that they keep saying I Understand , you dont understand because you didnt lose your source of income and youre not doing a great job advocating for your clientele. When I called on Oct 21st, I requested for someone to call me which is a 48 hr turnaround time , no has yet called me.

      LOUSY company! Extremely difficult to get your money out of these people. One excuse after another so they can delay the withdrawal. To add insult to injury, they got me for $115 "Administrative Fee" to send me my own money (when they finally did) on top of all the management fees they collected along the way. If you're the boss and thinking of using this company for your employees money, please do a little more research and find ANYONE else.

      They want to access my credit score. I dont know these b**** being a service holder to my money what is the relevance of my credit score. They already have all the information including my ssn dob address and my employers as well.

      Called to have my account registered and was told was told that the address did not match what they had on file. Mind you I am reading the address off the piece of mail that they sent to me from the address that they had on file to my house and and was proceeding to tell me that was the wrong address . Then after Confirming my identity and SSN They refused to look my account up with the account number that they mailed to me to the address they had on file. If it wasn't for the company match I would stop all contributions I will be advocating at work to have our accounts moved somewhere else. And to top it all off all off they wouldn't even let me hire an adviser through them to help maximize the benefits of benefits of my retirement account. What a freaking joke a freaking joke messing with people's futures like that Period

      Was forced to use Empower through my previous company. This company is a mess, their customer service is terrible and the app and the website dont work 75% of the time. Their customer service representatives misguided me and provided incorrect information several times. When I was finally able to get a hold of someone, she spent 10 minutes asking me about my last name, ethnicity, hair and eye color- completely unprofessional and obviously not what I was calling for. They held my money for a week without notifying me I needed to make a change to my account with them. Use fidelity, dont waste your time with Empower. Would rate 0 stars if I could.
