      Empower is the worst!!! They have messed up my withdrawal requests, taking taxes out of my **** account at a rate of 30%!!! When I call to complain I get nothing but promises that they will escalate the issue, look into the problem, yadda.... I wish my retirement account had never been transferred to this company because, until and unless they fix this issue, I can't make any withdrawals. What am I supposed to live on?

      I use the deferred compensation plan, and the loan process is a nightmare. I started attempting to speak to them about a loan, only to find out that they had defaulted me on a loan from 5 years ago. A loan that was supposed to be auto drafted from my payroll. They sent the notices to my old residence that this loan was defaulted, but never sent them to my new address. My grandmother had passed, and I had to assist my mother in finishing up her burial expenses. I had a son on August 16th of 2021, and starting inquiring about this before my son was a year old (I only wanted a loan, not withdrawal). After finding out that I could take a withdrawal for the birth of my son, he had eclipsed one year old by one week. They wouldn't allow it, and they wouldn't allow me to take a loan, since I had "defaulted" on my previous one. After several hours of phone conversations, I have decided to just stop contributing to this fund. I am also going to speak with my employer about how bad my experience was with them, and hope that we move to a better company.

      Im beyond upset! I have made more than 4 calls regarding my withdrawal on the money I need and have been given the run around. Which is ridiculous. I need my money!

      They have no care or concern about the customers they are no help when call I have sent money according to there instructions 10 days ago they can't find it really

      I requested a disbursement on 08/02/22 & I was told I would receive the check within 10 business days. I never received it. So after 12 business days I requested a replacement check. On 08/31/22 I received a check dated 08/02/22 that was mailed on 08/25/22 to only find out it was the ORIGINAL check mailed AFTER I requested the replacement. As of today, 09/08/22 I have not received the replacement check.

      EMPOWER RETIREMENT IS THE WORST!!!! I have been trying to make a withdrawal with this company for weeks. First, it was an address issue. My employer updated my address, it never shows on their account portal. Update it manually with a form I have to print out and mail in AFTER I have it notarized. Then, if I want it to be direct deposited, they have to hold it for 15 days. For security purposes they said. In the meantime, I am losing money. They offered to move the money so I don't lose so much. But once they do, what they don't tell you is that it will take even LONGER to get your money because you have to wait some more. I feel like they are taking this money, under the guise of a 401K, using it to pay off their own ventures and when you want to take it out they make it as difficult as possible, because it decreases their value. IMO, you are better off taking money out of your own check and stuffing it into your mattress. At least this way, you will know its all there when you come back for it. I have lost just over 400$ this year with this company managing my 401K. I get the market is somewhat hostile right now, but it is their responsibility to manage their assets appropriately to mitigate loses. I dont see that being a concern for them.

      Im a policyholder with empower who brought out ********** and like most of the reviews posted Im extremely disappointed about the service I received Im at the point where ** ready withdraw all my money out of this business. Ive been waiting for an in service withdrawal for about three weeks now with no end as of to date. Ive talked to numerous customer service reps and supervisors and have been given different dates each time to when I can expect my money and as previously stated its been three weeks and counting and considering the time were in its been very stressful and aggravating l would never recommend this business for retirement plans or anything else especially if you have a choice which I didnt

      This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Attempting to accept an offer for a one-time payout on my late husband's pension. I've called three times, never received any of the promised return calls, was on hold today for over thirty minutes and was HUNG UP ON. I am at a loss. The account was to have been put in my name years ago and wasn't. It was bad enough dealing with *********** but these people at Empower are far worse. I will file a complaint here and see what my lawyer suggests.

      Horrible Company. I am forced to used them through my government employer. I have many other investments and all of them are making pretty good gains. My empower retirement has lost money over the past years. How? When all other of my long term investments are making money. I then read all the reviews. NOT ONE POSITIVE REVIEW.

      Over the last few years I have had great difficulty accessing my account online.My password seems to change every time I try to access my account. After navigating their phone prompter and finally get through to a real person I am told the same thing. I'm given a pin number that lasts for one time. When I ask for a manager I'm told that they can't give me management names but one will call me tomorrow. This has gone on long enough. I'm taking my retirement money out These problems continue no matter how many times I complain.
