It appears that I am NOT alone when I say that AMR is a scandalous company that treats people like garbage. My husband is almost 70 years old, he is legally blind, and hard of hearing. He did not want to go to the hospital, but the *** ***** ****** said that he was given custody by the police and he had to force him to go to the hospital. There is no such law in *******. In order to transport a person to the ** for any psych situation, it is the *** that an emergency petition is filed, and order signed by the court. Please refer to ARS ******. Petition for treatment. It is V**Y clear that my husband was not properly ************* with any corporation, lets follow the money. It is NOTED that my husband was alert, however on the billing page, it states that he is unable to sign for himself and therefore the Nurse at Banner Casa Grande ******* ****** signs on behalf of my husband stating that he will pay for the ambulance ride. Interesting enough, ******* ****** worked for AMR ******** for many years... MY husband had NO PROBLEM signing his traffic citation but couldn't sign for his billing. He wouldn't sign; they knew it. He was released from police custody. There is only one way that AMR can resolve this with us. They will NOT bill us, as he didn't sign for it, and a conflicting Nurse from the hospital said he couldn't sign so she did for my husband. This is absolutely disgusting. Things only got worse for my husband from there. LOOK AT THE RATINGS!! This company is garbage. AMR, shame on you!! MY HUSBAND IS A VET**AN OF THE USA, AND ALMOST 70 YEARS OLD, HE IS LEGALLY BLIND AND HEARING IMPAIRED!!! ***** ******, YOUR employee called ahead to former colleague ******* ******, and my husband was injured due to this phone call. AN ELD**LY veteran. Disgusting. AMR please reach out to me so we can discuss how this bill will be waived due to fraudulent signature by your employees. Thank you.I can be reached at ***********American Medical Response Inc

Calling this "company " and there "employees " a joke, beyond disrespectful, over priced, heartless, judgemental, discriminators, ect, ect, ect, is quite literally the understatement of the century! I had my daughter in August and unfortunately she ended up having to be in the **** for 3 weeks and had to be transferred from one hospital to a children's hospital in ******** using these t*** waffles. I'm not sure how the h*** this "company " accomplished this but not only did they misspell my daughters name, which was on her paperwork, her NICU infant bed thing, and her medical wristbands, but to bill our insurance they used her name with my date of birth along with a combination of both of our medical member ID numbers along with some random persons address to bill our insurance for her ride. How the h*** is that possible to accomplish!? Not only did they continue trying to bill my insurance using there ****** up way and never got any response back from my insurance, but these t*** waffles even got the insurance company's address completely wrong. And these dumb assessment had the nerve to be passed at me for calling them out on their ********. Seriously, did they get there licensing out of a cracker **** box and there employees out of a not so happy meal?? No joke! Ridiculous!American Medical Response Inc

1 starThis place is horrible. They are very disrespectful and should be looked into on how the treat the elderly patients. Didnt understand how they couldnt get to my mother in the afternoon to transport her home. They waited until the evening when it would be very dark. There was at least 8-10 inches of snow on the ground. Why would anyone try and transport an elderly woman late at night. Probably because African Americans are the last to be helped.Review fromMaya E

This company does not follow the state and federal No Surprises Act and should be investigated. They also refused to let me drive in the ambulance to accompany my toddler - I have a 2 year old son - who was in distress and needed a transfer from one hospital to a childrens hospital. It was one of the worst moments, worst drives of my life following that ambulance. Their policy is they allow whoever is on staff to decide if someone can accompany the person. What the actual F. Why do they do that? If its the right thing to do they should require ******* employees chose to let my 2 year old toddler who was in distress and needing oxygen and medical attention be BY HIMSELF FOR 45 minutes with strangers, away from his mother. Horrible. That and their billing practices by not billing the contracted insurance rate as required by these laws from our state and federal governments. They should be broken up.American Medical Response Inc

Our office has thoroughly researched the concerns raised. When a request is received for the patient to be transported to a specific facility, our crew must follow EMS protocols. Although the transportation was medically necessary, patient's condition was stable and under the care of skilled medical providers trained to treat had condition declined.
The WA State balance billing protection laws took effect 1/1/2025. As the consumers service occurred prior to this date, it does not qualify under the balance billing protection. Unfortunately,AMR does not have a contract with the insurance carrier in the area service was rendered. As a result, the consumer is responsible for any unpaid balance. To help our patients in these scenarios, we offer discounts where allowed by law,0% interest payment plans, and offer our ****************** Program to those most in need.

They billed my secondary insurance as primary back in may of **************************************************** more (each time on the phone everything was corrected), a new bill would come out and the **** ***** isnt correct. Not showing any insurance applied when they have even talked on a three way call with a *** from my insurance company twice to explain things with me. I dont understand why it has to be spelled out for them. Its not that hard to figure out. They were even trying to tell me that both mine and my wifes totally different plans had the same Id numbers and group numbers. Very very poor billing departmentAmerican Medical Response Inc

1 starIf I could give them negative stats I would. I have ************* and when I had to be transported from one emergency room to another - this is the company that provided my transport. The transport itself was fine - no issues - their billing department is a bunch of crooks. My insurance paid the bill and sent me two letters as well as an EOB (explanation of benefits) stating that I owe no money to AMR - yet this company keeps reaching out asking for money I dont owe. I have called them several times - to say they are rude and not helpful is an understatement- their last *** hung the phone up in my ear when I explained that they needed to look again bc my insurance has already paid them - I was told that didnt matter that I STILL OWE FOR A BILL THATS ALREADY BEEN PAID! How is there no recourse for these really under business practices? Its insane!!! They really should be investigated for shady business practices.Review fromJeremy J

This company is nothing but a scam and a bully. For veterans the VA covers the cost of ambulance services. When AMR missed the deadline to file a claim with the VA they came after me (VA informed me of this). Sending me a bill over $1300 for a non-emergency ride. They then proceeded since 2019 to 2024 sending me bills Im not responsible for and sending collection agencies numerous times to try collecting which they never succeeded because they had no ground to stand on. Also I had the VA to back me. Then today I receive a pretentious letter claiming they are forgiving my imaginary debt and that this is being done for veterans and their families. Virtue signaling to the extreme. This company had the nerve to bully and harass me for 5 years wasting my time, causing me distress and now here they are pretending to be all charitable and supportive of veterans. H*** no! This company and the guilty individuals within deserve to be prosecuted and imprisoned.American Medical Response Inc

AMR has thoroughly reviewed the concerns raised. A claim was submitted to VA;however, we received a denial stating no authorization number was provided. It is the responsibility of the case manger at the sending facility to obtain authorization numbers accordingly prior to arranging transport. In 2019, the consumer was spoken to and advised of this.
As we did not receive a response from the consumer regarding establishing a formal payment plan, the billing cycle continued, and the unpaid balance ultimately defaulted to collections in 2020.
It is suggested for the consumer to contact Phoenix Financial Services at ************** to voice his concerns as AMR no longer owns this account.

This company is not at all honest. I never called this place. The Hillsborough County Fire and Rescue called for service to the hospital for a ride due to low potassium. This ambulance showed up. They said get in and we will give you a ride. Like an idiot I did. They didn't even as much as take my blood pressure. They tried to **** Cigna and Cigna caught the trick right away. They billed $1118.36. Cigna gave them $20.39 and closed it out and told me to not deal with them. Here it is 20 months later and a bill for $1097.96. This is nonsense. This company is predatory and should be investigated. An **** would have been $10.00. I have lung cancer and am going through treatment. I do not need this harrassment. I tried to call and got someone in the *********** who said the acount was going to collections. This place needs to be investigated by the proper government authorities. By looking at these reviews I hope the State and Federal governments will act accordingly to repremand this company. Fighting Cancer is bad enough than for someone to do this to you while you are fighting for your life. They should be ashamed.American Medical Response Inc

Many patients come in contact with Emergency Medical Services because of friends, family, bystanders, law enforcement officials, or medical staff. AMR was dispatched to transport the consumer, based on his condition. Please be assured that our crews are trained to follow all local Emergency Medical Services procedures and protocols.
The consumer's insurance carrier processed and applied a portion of the balance towards the deductible and coinsurance amount. AMR is not contracted with the insurance carrier, as a result, the amount not paid by insurance becomes patient responsibility.
To help our patients in these scenarios, we offer discounts where allowed by law, 0% interest payment plans, and offer our ****************** Program (CCP) to those most in need. Copy of our CCP application can be retrieved by logging into the consumers account at ****************************.
