I was billed for a large amount that my insurance refused to pay because it was outrageous. I called several times and also sent a copy of the NO SURPRISES ACT ...stating that I wasn't responsible for the overage. .a fellow with an India accent stated that may be the law but it's not our policy....wth.....worst company I have ever dealt with.......evidently everything is handled through *****......TERRIBLE

Horrible customer **********************, these people refuse to bill my insurance. Made the mistake of paying these crooks in full, now it's been months, and they still haven't filed a claim with my insurance. You will talk to multiple ***** and they all say different things, so someone is lying. Quick to take payment, but slow to bill the insurance.

Called them today on 12/11/2024 about my refund, because my insurance paid them in full on 11/26/2024. They said my refund status left review stage on 12/6/2024 and refund is processing as of that day. Im still currently waiting on payment as of 12/11/2024.

I am reaching out to address an ongoing billing issue with AMR that has been a source of frustration for me. In 2022, I took my child to an in-network hospital for a broken wrist. Unfortunately, the hospital did not have a specialized physician available to treat my child, so they arranged for AMR to transport my kid to another in-network hospital. AMR billed us $1634.21 for this trip ( ~ 30 minutes drive). After numerous follow-ups with both my insurance provider-Cigna, and AMR, my insurance paid $1549.47 to AMR. However, the remaining balance of $86.74 was denied by my insurance provider, as they considered AMR to be double-dipping for disposable supplies, IV administration, and IV extension supplies. According to my insurance, these charges should have been covered as part of the primary service payment already made. I have had numerous calls with AMR, explaining that they cannot bill twice for the same service. Each time, they assure me that they will check and get back to me, but after a few weeks, I receive another bill for $86.74. I have escalated the issue to AMR supervisors and even had calls with my insurance provider, but the bills continue to arrive. I have an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from my insurance stating that I am not responsible for this $86.74. It is not the patient's responsibility to pay for AMR's double-dipping practices. I find their business practices, including not being in-network for most insurances and charging higher prices, to be unethical and harassing to customers. I kindly request your assistance in resolving this matter once and for all. I appreciate your time and attention to this issue.

AMR does not have a contract with the consumer's insurance carrier.  As a result, the patient is responsible for any amount unpaid.  AMR requires all service procedures billed to be reimbursed separately. We suggest the consumer to file an appeal with their insurance carrier if patient feels a larger portion should be covered. At this time, the balance remains due.

We understand that emergency medical care is an unexpected expense. Please contact our customer ********************** department at **************, should you have further questions, would like to discuss payment options, or inquire about our financial assistance program.

It appears you havent understood the problem, this issue is not related to AMR being out of network. AMR has already received payment for Disposable supplies, IV administration, and IV extension supplies as part of the primary service payment. However, there has been an additional request for payment for these same services separately, which seems to constitute double dipping. This practice can be perceived as unethical . Kindly request a thorough review of the charges and payments to ensure accuracy and fairness. Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to your prompt response.

This is by far the worst (non) customer ********************** I have ever experienced with any company. I've now contacted AMR seven times regarding the same billing issue. They coded an emergency trip incorrectly so it was denied by ******** (for my 94 year old father). He had four similar trips last year and two this year - only one was coded incorrectly, but I have been unable to get it resolved. I called 7/15/24, 8/2/24, 8/16/24, 9/20/24, 10/23/24 (twice), and now 11/4/24. Each time they said they would correct the code and resubmit it to the insurance company, and to wait ***** days to follow-up. Some times it was never resubmitted, the other times the coding was not changed. On the call today, I finally made it to a manager, then the "deny department" - none of which could help. They now said it was coded correctly and couldn't change (even though it was coded differently than any other trip). I will now try to contact their CEO and *** to let them know how frustrating the experience has been. No wonder they are not accredited by the BBB and have a 1.06/5 rating.

This company needs to have their business practices investigated: I just received a notification via text that my bill for AMR was being sent to collections from a car accident that occurred 4 years ago. I had never once heard of this bill. In calling customer **********************, I found out that THEY had written my address down wrong, and therefore couldn't send me a bill (despite having my name, date of birth, and phone number, and therefor access to public information with my actual address). Apparently they left voice messages simply stating that "AMR" was calling with a request for me to call back (no reference to what "AMR" was, no reference to my accident or the services provided). Because I didn't respond to these vague outreaches, they sent my bill to collections. Based on a mistake that THEY made in the process. This company is predatory: they did below the minimum to actually contact me about this bill. This is a truly abhorrent company that preys on people in the midst of medical emergencies.

I had an ambulance ride on 6/26/24. No problem with the ride. They billed and were paid by my primary insurance. Ive been receiving multiple texts saying my payment is due yet they havent filed my secondary insurance. Ive spoken to 8 reps so far. Given them my secondary insurance multiple times and they say they will submit it for payment yet never do. They also tell me they dont have my insurance information! Ive provided it multiple times and also provided it on their website!***** ****** Athens Tn.

The concerns raised have been thoroughly investigated by our office. The consumer's supplemental insurance is not currently in our billing system; however, we're been in contact with the insurance carrier and are in the process of adding it to our system for billing. At this time, the account has been placed on hold pending for the above mentioned to complete.

Nice EMT's. Insurance fraud in billing! My husband was transferred by these folks. They sent the bill to our insurance and only said the bill was a little over $600.00. Our insurance paid it. AMR said on that invoice no patient responsibility. Then AMR sent texts and emails saying we owed over$4600.00. Pay by such and such date or we would be turned into collections. Three phone calls later to my insurance and AMR with threat telling them I was going to the Better Business filing insurance fraud, then magically they said we didn't owe anything. I requested a letter saying that we owed nothing. AMR said they would send us a letter stating we owed nothing, but it never came. Beware of this company and insurance fraud!

This is the worst company I've ever dealt with. They have failed to send me a bill, failed to allow me access to my patient portal to see my bill, failed to file an insurance claim with my health insurance company that will cover the visit 100%. I've contacted them a dozen times by email and phone and every single person I've interacted with has been unprofessional and unhelpful. I was told I have a bill of ~$3000 and it's been over 2 months of going back and forth. All of the other providers that assisted with my emergency followed the proper protocol to get paid. But this company has done nothing but cause me undue stress and frustration, when I'm trying to heal from my emergency surgery. Shameful business practices. Don't ever use them if at all possible.

I accepted a ride from AMR without asking what the charges might be. That was a big mistake on my part. A 6 mile ride, 44 minutes total service time with minimal services, no sirens, no rush at all, was $4296.88! I have no issue with the service provided, but nearly $100/minute? When I called to talk to them (AMR), their first response was "don't you have ******************** That sounds to me like they are trying to take advantage of the insurance companies. I have a co-worker that lived nearby and was faced with roughly the same situation, except he asked how much the ride would be, and he was told approximately $1000. AMR could offer no relief to me except zero interest payments.

AMRs rates are competitive for the communities we serve and meet all applicable local, state and federal limitations.  Ambulance provider fees typically include a base charge for the transport, a mileage fee and any applicable ancillary charges.  It has been confirmed that appropriate care and transportation was provided based on the patients condition and all charges invoiced are valid. The consumer's insurance carrier processed and applied the balance towards the deductible amount.

As an ambulance provider, our services are essential to the communities we serve; we service caring for everyone regardless of their ability to pay or insurance status. Should you have further questions or would like to inquire about our financial assistance program, please contact our customer ********************** department at **************.

Services were fine, billing department *****, couldn't see bill online for over a month , called 4 times to see what the bill was , they offered a small discount to pay the bill in full or make a payment plan, then they took that away after I paid partially.. called several more times to resolve that.. it's ridiculous the way they wanna change the billing process!
