Horrible, the adjuster dropped the ball on the entire job, the rental, the transmission. After a month of hearing nothing, finally after repeatedly requesting supervisors, the claim was approved, it took 5 days short of 2 months to get my truck back. With the highest level of protection with them, I still had to shell out $3500+ for the rental and another $830+ after 2 supervisors called me. They apologized for the adjuster dropping the ball, and told me that the entire claim was covered, and would only cost me $100. Now when I call requesting a supervisor from American Auto Shield, they have a Car Shield supervisor call me, when I specifically ask tell them American Auto Shield supervisor. Car shield transfers me to American auto shield, then I have to explain everything again. I get told give me one moment sir then silence, then the call hangs up. Then Im forced to call back and explain myself again and again. I was told by 2 supervisors it would only be $100 at the mechanic shop on recorded lines, but now magically there is no way to pull that up. Meanwhile there are computer programs that are in place for such a thing. So as veteran, right after my birthday and right before the 4th of July, I had to pay out $4000+ when it should have been $100. Now I get the run around and no one to talk to that will be straight up and do what they are supposed to do. They are probably doing this because they want me to cancel my policy with them. Multiple local car shops used to use them, but now will not accept their business. I wonder if they are a failing businessAmerican Auto Shield, LLC

They MISREPRESENTED themselves, lied and didn't repair my vehicle..Their FRAUDS and not transparent with the guidelines and policy information..I believe they add rules and decisions that suits them whenever they need to deny a claim. I'VE NEVER seen anything mentioned of PREEXISTING ISSUES!! This is crap!! DONOT USE THESE PEOPLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!American Auto Shield, LLC

Awful. Avoid at all costs or it will cost you. Was completely misled by sales guy when I originally purchased my extended warranty with 70K on my truck. He told me 100K or 60 months FROM THE **** OF PURCHASE...whichever came first. Even said "yes, 170K or 60 months." Then, my truck hit 100K and they told me my policy lapsed. A total bait and switch tactic that stole $2,500 of my hard working money. These guys are thieves. If I could give them a zero I would. First of all, if you wanna know the truth about American Auto Shield (Car Shield), here is all their gimmicks with the warranty coverage.I first purchased American Auto Shield In the year of 2014. Since 2018 American Auto Shield has ruined their reputation with dealerships and repair shops by being: A. ****************************** they found the part on the Internet at a cheaper price, Causing the repair to take longer and the customer to be without a vehicle C. Telling dealership or repair shop that they will have the part found internet shipped in, Causing the repair to take longer and the customer to be without a vehicle D. Telling the dealership or repair shop that the customer will have to pay the additional cost of the repair if the customer refuses to accept a part found on the Internet that was a cheaper price E. Argumentative about the Cost of the labor rate F. Refusing to pay for part of the repair that was caused by the Malfunctioning item (i.e. American Auto Shield will try to get customers to pay for gaskets, seals, and additional labor that is covered by warranty due to malfunctioning repair parts) G. Claims Examiner refuses to communicate openly with the dealership, repair shop, and contract holder when customer supplies the vehicle service records as requested by Examiner to pay for any major repair.H. Hotel reimbursement is only approved If your breakdown occurred 100 miles or more away from your home. Hotel reimbursement is $50 a day for upto 3 days.I. Rental car reimbursement is only approved if the repair of your vehicle takes 4 hours or more of labor. Rental car reimbursement is $40 a day for upto 5 days.American Auto Shield was argumentative, Refused to cover an approved claim in a timely manner, and held up the claim for weeks that costed the customer $2300 in rental car charges due to the examiner refusing to communicate with the dealership and customer.American Auto Shield, LLC

Terrible absolutely atrocious service. This is one of the most terrible companies Ive ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They do not mind collecting your premium every month for two years, four years six years or or however, long but if the repair bill is high, they will fight you and nail on, trying to get out of providing the service that they guarantee you. My vehicle has been sitting in the shop for more than a month while American auto shield continues to try and find a way out of pain for the damages that were covered under the warranty that Ive been purchasing for two years, didnt have any problem. Collecting my premium I followed all of the rules and guidelines, as well as the shop sent it to their choosing and a mechanic of their choosing because they said that if I send it to one of their shops that whatever he recommended they would cover. However, this is not the case because I have an extremely large Repair bill. As a combat veteran, one thing that I pride, myself on is honor and integrity, ************ has none. I would advise anyone and everyone do not send your business their way if I could give them a zero star rating I would they were the biggest mistake I ever made. I was directed by Carshield to contact your company to discuss my complaint and claim. I have called numerous times and left voice-mails, but my calls and messages go unanswered. Every time I call I am sent straight to the same voice-mail. Could someone please reach out to me concerning this matter? The shop that has my vehicle has also tried to contact you all to discuss the cause of my vehicle's breakdown, but they weren't given any information either, only the same number for me to call. Just a scam This outfit hires indian scammers who violate federal law by calling numbers on no-call list.They claim that even maintenance items are covered which an outright lie. How I know? I spent nearly 20 years in the field as a Mechanical Breakdown Inspector so I know fraud when I see it.American Auto Shield, LLC

American Auto Shield (formerly CarShield, apparently) is a horrible, horrible service. Avoid them at all costs! I have paid almost $7000 over four years to them, and I have had only one claim (before today) that paid approximately $600. Now I need a new air compressor, and my dealer won't take American Auto Shield anymore because American Auto Shield insists on shipping in outside parts, which they cannot use, so I called American Auto Shield on Thursday to find out who takes them in *******. American Auto Shield recommended the shop where I took my car Thursday evening, and now American Auto Shield only wants to pay $671 of a $1700 covered claim! American Auto Shield says they won't pay more than this because the shop doesn't take outside parts. American Auto Shield absolutely KNEW THIS before they recommended the shop because this shop does regular business with them. They should NOT have recommended this shop to me since they know they don't take outside parts! If I now take my car somewhere else, then I will have to pay the labor costs for the diagnosis work at the shop where my car is now. This is a deceptive business practice and it is infuriating to have paid this much money and not be covered as promised. I will be leaving multiple bad reviews everywhere possible. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS! Also, when I got a representative on the phone, I was cut off and had to start all over again with waiting to get th rough. They should have called me right back. They have my phone number. You are much better off to save the money that you would pay them in premiums and pay yourself every month. 1 starThe worst experience ever. No accountability. The agent by name ***** try to double charge me., after making my payment. He waited almost a month to say my payment was not make. I check my bank account statement , the payment was made.. I copied that part of the statement and sent to him. He refused to acknowledge it. He requested for a full month detail statement , which I sent. He viewed the statement and notice he was caught up with his lies but still refused to acknowledge. He went ahead to demand for another month of statements that had nothing to do with the payment I was talking about. I still sent it to him. When he did not have anymore lies to give. He blamed it on insurance people. Meanwhile I request to speak with someone else apart from him. He refused. Which made me believe this company is a one man show business. Do waste your money. with this company, trust me. ***** cut off my insurance because I had a previous policy which I sold the car a month before my new car came in. I told ***** and he refused to take the car off my policy. He kept charging me for two cars. When I told him I cant keep paying insurance for a vehicle that was sold a month ago. He cancel my insurance for the new car. I think this is a scam company trying so hard to scam people of their hard earned money. Car Shield does not cover worn out items, or preventive maintenance. Only things that break down. And you have to call them to find a place that WILL ACCEPT their warranty. WE took our car to our ***** dealer. They did the work and then told us they don't accept Car Shield, because either Don't pay what they ask or they are very late in payment.
