I have had 3 units with red dot storage and paid on time for months. There was a break in at my location (***************). Because of that red dot storage put a lock on my unit. Next time I went to access my unit I was unable to use the code given. After calling multiple times I was told a supervisor would have to come out and change it because it was incorrect. Waited weeks and it never happened. I called multiple times and was not helped. So I decided I want to leave and go somewhere else because clearly the customer service is not good. I scheduled a move out- of course life happened and I had a death in my family and was unable to move out within the time frame- then had a vacation out of the country so I was charged for another month on all 3 units.understandably. I called and asked to atleast be compensated for the lack of access to one of the units since the break in and no one cared.once againso I told them I would pay on the unit they had the most items and move out of it. I went to move out and didnt have gate access even though this unit was FULLY PAID. I called and was told because my other two units werent paid I couldnt go in the gate. Even though I signed 3 SEPARATE LEASES.I was denied access to a PAID UNIT!! Now, I was told I had to wait over 30 days to do any sort of collections with them. Basically I paid that unit for no reason at all. It was pointless. I have no idea how you can deny access to a unit that is fully paid but it is disgusting and unprofessional and extremely unacceptable!Initial Complaint

In October I rented a 10x25 unit from Red Dot Storage. Two weeks ago we were to meet a facility manager at our unit and retrieve our belonging. The facility manager had cut off our lock and threatened to auction our items because of "fraudulent banking information". We do not have fraudulent banking information. I was able to ascertain from a rep that it was because we used accounts from 2 different banks, which are still both our accounts so it shouldn't matter. They would not fix the situation and stated we needed to move. On the day we were to meet the manager, they didn't show up. I called and was given a code to enable to lock to open. Upon opening the unit. It was clear to see someone had ransacked out unit, stolen items and broken many items. The ONLY person that had access to it besides us was the facility manager!!!! There were ZERO signs of forced entry!!! We have contacted police and filed a report. They stole a Gaming system and accessories (didn't even try to hide it....they left the box for it ripped up in pieces right in front/center of unit!). They stole some tools, holiday items etc. Thankfully I had taken pics the last time I was there but I'm never going to really know everything that was taken! Also important to note they NEVER have working cameras and it states in contract they don't have to..now I know why. Our unit was VERY organized. We built a rack spanning the height and length of unit for various totes. The other sections were stacked neatly with aisles in between. When we opened the unit that day, everything was toppled over. There were even foot prints on a table from where the manager stood to access a box of my tax returns@Initial Complaint

URGENT CASE: DUE TO SITUATION POSTED, THEY ARE REQUIRING US TO MOVE OUT OF UNIT TMRO MORNING AT 1015. We began renting from Red Dot Storage on October 19, 2023. We had many issues including gates being constantly broken, gates being left open for weeks at a time, I had made complaints about this. Afterward we did become late on payments for a couple months while I was in the hospital. I thought payment was made but hadn't transferred funds from savings to checking so they were returned. Now they are terminating the lease and saying the reason is due to "fraudulent banking information" which isn't true at all. My bank is able to verify all info. They will not even let me soeak with a supervisor. We simply want to pay the balance and continue renting but feel that due to the complaints as well as my online review I made for Red Dot which wasn't very flattering of them. We just wanted to make payment and stay in the unit but they refuse. *,*after just getting off tbe phone with Red Dot, all of which conversations have been recorded, I am told the fraudulent banking information relates to using 2 different accounts so they are making assumptions they are not valid bank accts when they indeed are actual bank accounts of ours and our banks would be willing to send notarized statements stating as much. They have also threatened to haul our belongings away on numerous occasions. This isn't I'm accordance with ******** state law and they have not followed the procedures required by state law to remove our belongings. They have inaccurately informed me they can because of what I signed in the lease and they do not understand that state law supercedes their lease documents.Initial Complaint

Rented a storage unit from red dot and was not given access to the unit (1132) for several days after. Finally after not being able to gain access to the unit red dot told us to use a different unit (121). After 2 weeks returned to the unit to find that they cut our lock off and put one of their one on in its place. They allowed people to have access to our unit and told them that our stuff was up for auction. They claim that the transfer of said unit was never complete there for that don't know what to tell us. They failed to do so and at the end of our call we were under the impression that we were to use the new unit (121) like we were told to do. Unit h 27,has a broken gutter above.The unit is wet,1/3 way into unit after melted snow or rain.We have called,and made appointments with management,but they never show.When we call they say they will fix the broken gutter.We have thrown out several items,and everything is getting moldy.My mom paid movers to put everything in the unit.It cost her ****** to pay movers.Red dot told me today they will not be fixing the gutter,and they will have us move to another unit.She is elderly,and doesn't have ****** to move her things to another unit.It would been a simple gutter repair,that could have been done months ago.We also have called to report the gate being open,and broken for the last month.The people renting these units are paying for a gated rental.We were also told a couple of months ago we would be compensated for the gate being closed,and not being able to get in for a week.The compensation never happened.Thank you in advance.Initial Complaint

I called Red Dot Storage on November 20th 2023 and told them I was moving my contents out of the storage unit # **** in **********,** on December 10th 2023.Red Dot told me that I wouldn't owe any monthly payment of $144.00 if I move out prior to December 16,2023.I called Red Dot Storage on December 9th and told them we moved out 1 day earlier than I thought would be.Red Dot Storage told me they would inspect the unit and they would send me a email confirming the unit was empty.I never got an email from them confirming the unit was emptied.I however got a email from Red Dot Storage 2 weeks later said that my December 16, was past due.I then got another email stating I had additional late fee added and I owed $169.00 total for December.I called Red Dot Storage 2 times and they told me that ther was a glitch in their system to disregard the email.I don't want my credit report to look bad because of a glitch in their system.Initial Complaint

I have informed Red Dot Storage (my unit is located in **************) four times in the last two months that the front gate is wide open does not close or ask anyone for a code, leaving all units unsecured to anyone not paying for a unit. Someone can easily go in there with a bolt cutter and steal the contents within all the units. The customer service reps each time tell me they will let people know to take care of it but nothing happens. It is still wide open. When I ask to speak to a supervisor ******* says they will have one call me. They have yet to call me. Suddenly after six months of paying a monthly charge of $211, I learn today that there was an increase and it is now $249. I asked why and they said it is for operation costs. They are not caring for the security of everyone there; if anything we should be paying less due to this fact.Customer Answer

I purchased an auction with the Red Dot Storage. As I won the auction, I received an email stating about the payment that was needed. I called the Red Dot Storage to pay the amount and make sure with time of hours that it would be opened as I was coming from over an hour away. I talked with the one in charge (*****). She stated that once when I pay online they would send a code and unit number of the storage unit. I paid the amount that was due. I received an email with the unit number and code to get in. The email and text message both stated that this is a 24/7 setup. I could come at any time to get the items in the storage. So there were two of us that went to the Red Dot Storage faculty. it was around 7:00 pm at night. I entered the code that was given. nothing happened, it read "access denied". I tried the second code that they gave, the same thing "access denied". There was a number to text if there was a problem with getting entrance in the gate. I text the number. Nothing took place. I never received anything from this sign to text the number. I tried to call the Red Dot Storage, no one answered. Instead a recording came on. I followed the directions for receiving a gate code. It was the same one I tried, nothing happened. I stayed at the faculty trying to access the gate for about 35 minutes. I finally left a message on the answering machine. I did not hear from anyone until around 9:00 am in the morning of the next day. This cost me 2 people for 3 1/2 hours of work and the fuel to get there and back. As I talked with the representative about this, they made no effort of trying to help with what took place. instead they stated I could just forfeit the storage unit. This is was a waste of time and fuel amounting around $ ******. It was not my fault. The Red Dot Storage unit was at fault resulting in my $****** loss. They have no intentions of doing anything concerning this. Something should be done when a company does not hold up to what they say. And I said, I paid but I could not get my storage unit at the time when they stated that I could.Initial Complaint

The storage building for the climate controlled units has a door that the lock is broken and is wide open and another door that the code doesn't work. This has been reported numerous times. Additionally the access road for the building has extensive and deep pot holes that hold **** inches of water at all times. It is impossible to drive a vehicle to the building without sinking into these potholes and wading through water. All these problems and they have raised their prices 68% in one year and 9 months. When reviewing the lease there is no provision for rate increase caps and/or limitations so the customer is basically at the whim of whatever they want to charge without recourse.Initial Complaint

I rented a storage unit at Red Dot storage. Location ********************** ********* I rented the unit 10/27/23.I made my payment of ******. My unit was broke into and my entire car was stolen. Its a classic. **** cutlass salon. There has been people able to get into the secured facility and break in to many units! This has been a on going thing and customers are being ripped off and the facility isnt doing anything about the break ins and the facility is misleading all the customers. Its not safe and security has to be improved dramatically.. Now they the facility is saying they can only compensate for up to only $2000. My vehicle is worth over $7000 or including the items in the car. How is this ok? The stuff I had in my car is worth over $7000. They are not professional and this place needs to s*** down
