      Moved out of both units ********** on January 22,2023. Gate code would not work, so had to call customer service. Move out date was previously scheduled online. While speaking with representative on the phone, she informed me that I would get a prorated refund for both units, provided the facility supervisors approval of units condition after move out. I received confirmation regarding approval from facility supervisor in January 23,2023 but no further information regarding the refund. I joined an iChat conversation with a ********** representative and he told me they request a five day notice for move out. I noted to him that information was not stated in the lease. He said it isnt a requirement, but since it wasnt five day notice, the refund would have to be manually entered and a check would be sent in the mail. However, I needed to make the request to ************************************* I did as he said and the response I received was they do not prorate rent and refund the rest. I would like the BBB to sell my refund, as I was told I was entitled to one and now the company is changing their mind.

      PLEASE READ THIS !!!! Would give 0 Stars if I could. Im renting a storage unit from Red Dot Storage in ***********, ********* on *************. Someone broke into my storage unit between 01/04/2023 & 01/10/2023. I dont know the exact day they did it but it was between those days & 01/04/2023 is when I got the storage room. Please Do Not get a storage unit here. I had my own lock on the unit they broke it off & they stole my TVs, washer, dryer, air fryer, they even stole my birth certificate & other stuff of mines. I had to buy another different type of lock hoping they dont break into it again. Theres no property manager/supervisor or security on site either. When I called the number from ****** & the number they have on the building of Red Dot Storage & asked them for a number to the property supervisor/manager they say they dont have a direct number to them. *** filed a police report so hopefully they can look at the cameras & see who the thief is. I called ****************************** filed a claim & after weeks of waiting to see if theyll give me some money for my stuff being stolen they said they wont because the storage unit wasnt damaged. So I have to buy all the things that were stolen from meagain. I work too hard for my things just for them to be ************ Dot wont pay me for it. Theres no telling how many other peoples storage rooms have been broken into & they just dont know it yet.

      On 22 December, we were notified via email that our camper was not in our site. Upon calling, which went directly to the call center, they provided us very little information but state that pictures were showing that our camper was not there. Once my husband got off work, he went to the unit and discovered that our camper was missing. There was not a manager on site, he tried calling the number for the manager, but was again directed to the call center which said a manager would be on site the following day and at a specified time. While looking around the site, all of the cameras for this storage center had been painted over. At this time, he filed a police report and we filed an insurance claim. My husband showed up the following day at the specified time and waited for a then entire two-hour gap, but no one showed. He called again and they stated that a manager would be there the following Monday. He again sat there the entire two-hour gap in which no one showed up. We are extremely disappointed in the lack of customer service or concern for our camper that was stolen. We just want answers. When was it noticed missing? Is there any footage? How could someone get into this "gated" facility? But again, that comes down to caring about the customer over profit which seems to not be the priority of this company that emphasizes how secure its facilities are.

      Tuesday I booked a unit though red dot and I was too to go the next day while the next day comes and they called me to tell me the unit doesnt exist anymore so I didnt care to much but then I got a call back later on Wednesday and they said they had a unit for rent and offered me a discount they then said that it would be available Friday so I didnt think anything of it and I didnt hear a word from them so I called them on Friday and they denied calling me saying they never said that. Not only did they lie to me after I heard I was getting a unit I quit looking for a different one. So now I have a trailer being delivered tomorrow and no where to put it. So they just ****** me twice. Complete ********.

      On Friday December 2nd we went to our storage unit at Red Dot Storage to get our Christmas tree. We noticed a musty smell the minute we walked in. We opened the unit and there was water damage and mold and busted up boxes all over. The rain must've leaked in through a hole in the roof. This is suppose to be Climate Controlled storage. We were told by the facilities insurance person that there is no coverage and that they are not responsible for any damage. Our personal insurance is saying that they have to have liability coverage.

      The entrance security gate has been open for months. The doors that require codes to enter are unlocked. There is trash, broken glass, furniture, boxes and many other items littered throughout the property. SEE PHOTOS I've called and complained multiple times. They never addressed the issues. They advertise safe and secure "A keypad to open the gate at the entryway of Red Dot Storage in Granite City CONTROLLED GATE ACCESS". A Granite City Detective contacted me stating that they found 2 people in my unit. They arrested them. I had many items stolen. I pressed charges. I contacted Red Dot Storage they were not concerned and did not help me at all. The Detective told me that they have been monitoring Red Dot Storage in Granite City. They have seen a lot of activity. Red Dot storage appears to be unconcerned. I have witnessed people sleeping in their vehicles on the property. I have heard people inside closed units for long periods of time while I spent many hours cleaning and organizing my unit. I have witnessed a prostitute walking around the grounds also. I have seen vagrant people walking the grounds on multiple occasions. I have not felt safe there. I will not go there alone because I know there is no one closely monitoring the facility.

      This storage location has had a string of numerous thefts in the past few months. My spouse and I have a storage shed that is supposed to be protected by a security gate outside and by locking doors that both require a security pin to access. For months the keypads for security codes have been disabled, the doors are unlocked, and the security gate has been stuck open. This has invited people to freely come into the storage shed and steal whatever they can. Multiple sheds have been burglarized and it continues to happen, and much more frequently lately. There are cameras all over this property, but I'm assuming they are disabled just like the rest of the security measures because this continues to happen. It has also been said that some homeless people have taken residence in a few of the storage sheds. We've complained many times, as well as a lot of other people, and nothing is being done about it.They continue to raise prices on their rentals and have no problem coming out to put a lock on people's sheds who are late on payments, but they do nothing to fix or improve the security! This has put a lot of stress on us, and every day we have to check or shed to make sure we weren't robbed.

      I moved out of a storage unit that I rented from red dot storage on September 28th 2022 . I gave them a plenty of advance notice that I was moving out . Since they have sent me about 6 invoices for October threatening to ad late fees and collections. I responded to their invoice reminding them I had moved out but they are continuing with their harassment. I would like you to make them stop the invoicing.Thank you !

      On July 15, 2022, I started leasing unit 257 with the Red Dot Storage 77 located in ************* ****. Upon paying the necessary upfront charges, along with the Level 2 protection plan, they provided me with gate access codes. Those gate codes worked fine the first time I used them when moving my personal belongings into my unit and each time thereafter have failed to work. I have called numerous times regarding the code NOT working and they would then provide me with another code, which of whom did not work as well. Fast forward several months, and the gate codes STILL do NOT work. Why can I not access my things 24/7? The current issue at hand is that I am paid up on my bill, and have a ZERO balance, yet to my surprise when I visited my unit last Tuesday, October 4, 2022, there was a big red lock on my unit. Confused as to why it was there, i proceeded to contact the Site Manager and was unable to get ahold of anyone. I then contacted Corporate in ******** to try and get ahold of someone that could help me with this problem and was told that there shouldnt be ANY lock on my unit becasuse there was an agreement in place that I fullfild on my end, yet Red Dot did NOT honor their agreement regarding my account. I have made NUMEROUS attempts to get ahold of ANYONE at this company that can help and have hiot dead ends all around. Over the weekend, I paid several people to help me move the items out of the unit to be done with this problem, paid for their gas as well as rented trailers, and for 3 days starting on Thursday October6, 2022 through Sunday October 9, 2022 i have STILL not been able to make contact with anyone. I still have a big red lock on my unit and when i call the phone number to this location someone picks up the phone and waits a few seconds then hangs up on me. This has happened everyday since Monday October 10, 2022. I have called from different numbers, i have had different people call and then someone picks up the phone.

      This business Red Dot is on my credit report as collections??? First off Ive never heard of themThey fraudulently said that I owe them money? I will be contacting a lawyer! I will also be contacting the credit report agency as well.
