I have spent 200 dollars a month on a unit the past 3 years. 4/5 times their gate doesn't let me into the facility. I run a business, and store my job stuff there. They have cost me ****s in delays while they hold my belongings hostage. On top of that, there's no body to talk to to fix the gate because their automated phone lines just hang up on you when you call them unless your trying to buy a new unit. This company needs a class action law suit. They steal your ******************'t let you in, no one to talk to and they raises their rates 10 dollars every fewer months on top of the terrible service. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

They rip customers off first of all, with their late charges, ect. If I would have known what the laws, ect were; I wouldn't have lost all of my belongings!

The worst place! We were moving from out of state and rented a 10x20 unit from Red Dot in ***********. We had a local family member place a lock on the unit, per Red Dots request. After paying 2 months of rent, and the week before our move, we received an email that said We successfully moved out. We did NOT request this and it has caused such a problem for our move. When we spoke to customer service, they were exceptionally rude and fixed absolutely nothing. Please do not use them!

Theft is a problem here. Tonight we were informed by text message and email from automated RedDot message that our unit "may" have been broken into. When we arrived, someone had replaced our broken lock with a Red Dot lock, along with seven other vandalized units, but no Red Dot representative was on the premises. Based off of various items such as pictures and papers poking out underneath several unit doors, it looks like things the thieves discarded were just shoved back into random units by an employee in the aftermath, then a Red Dot lock placed on it. The managment never called us, the neighboring unit's owner we met, or the police. After speaking with law enforcement (who responded right away when we called and were at the site within minutes) we found out this has happened before. The authorities at that time urged Red Dot to have interior cameras installed- which they did not. Red Dot's exterior gate has been broken and open for several days now. The thieves not only stole belongings, but trashed items as well. They were apparently able to take their sweet time loading up 8 units. Again, NO phone call from management to the police or to us, and cannot reach a human on the phone with Red Dot. If your things are worth storing, steer clear of this facility.

In 2021, my father died. I rented a unit with Red Dot that was temperature controlled. I have a full disability and so everything including mobility is hard. The temperature controlled place has been broken into multiple times due to lack of security. Also, there is water damage within the building due to a faulty roof. So most of my items and items are damaged. Unacceptable for $135/month. Now I have to make an insurance claim. Red Dot is a terrible place to trust and you never talk to an American with good English. I am sad I trusted Red Dot located in Granite City. To be honest, it is a poorly managed and unkept place located in a trashy arena. They charge you a lot of money for your unkept space. The whole building smells like mildew and you pay extra for no security. The company has demonstrated a lack of safety and does not care about their customers. So be careful and insure when renting space and insure! Unacceptable Business!

Everything is done by phone or online, no live employees. When I called I was told the 5' x 5' unit was 8 feet tall. There was a $1 first month special on all sized units. I was told to fill out the contract and pay for the unit at the facility where there would be a kiosk for this purpose. I would then be given a gate code. When I arrived, the kiosk wasn't working so I called the automated system, paid them $30 and they said they would email me the contract. Finally was able to open the email, signed contract, opened account, got gate code. Unit was 5' by 5' but only 3' tall. When I called back, they said they could only refund my $1. $20 was nonrefundable and $9 insurance fee was non refundable. , so I agreed to transfer to the next size, 5x15. I was charged $51 total because she said the special was only for the 5 by 5 size. When I got home I checked the computer and the $1 special is for all sizes. When I called back I was told the special was for new customers only and I was a transfer. I spoke to numerous csr's and 2 supervisors who actually snickered at me. Lying and bait and switch are their strong points. I would give them a negative star if I could.

I used this location two years ago for a much small outside unit for a year. It never had any issues. The lights inside my unit always came in when I turned them on&I never had a problem with gate access. This year I got another unit the largest they have available 10X25 the first thing I notice was there is no light inside this large unity by my much much smaller unit directly across from this did so I called customer service only to be told that it had recently changed ownership to red dot and the they immediately removed all in unit lighting/electricity to "prevent squatters from living in the units and attracting bugs&rodents." I immediately asked them if they had any infestations oh either bugs or rodents as I would not be willing to compromise the quality of my belongings for a temporary location for them. I was told "absolutely not ma'am, in fact we do biweekly routine preventive maintenance to assure or property is free if all pests. Ok fine. I still need somewhere to put EVERYTHING from my five bedroom home in until I relocated so I moved everything in. I then get an email saying my unit appears to have been broken into WHILE I was currently out of state in ICU after one of my son's surgeries so I called the customer service number just minutes after receiving the email& ask them if they can indeed confirm this or have their manager check on it for me and they told me that they wouldn't have anyone there for four days & that I should call a friend or family member to go check my unit to see if the door was open or not. But that wasn't an option for me as I haven't lived in the area in over 22 yrs& my family were in different states as well. So they told me to call the police and make a report&I do ********** tell me to give them an itemized list of what was missing&I tell them I'm not sure I'm out of state and they tell me to wait then until I can assess the situation and make an itemized list of the missing. We were in ICU 12 more DAYS cont on next thread

I first started renting in March 2020. My rental cost has gone up $40 over the past 8 months (they said due to local property taxes). Then on 11/18/22 I received a new lease agreement with all kinds of fun extras such as: absolving Red dot from any and all damages to the property and not making it a requirement for them to maintain their security measures, (and my favorite) Stating I couldn't have any property with "emotional ties such as heirlooms" in my unit. There was even an area at the end of the lease asking me what I was storing and if I had ***** on any property in my unit. Then I was charged an additional $20 processing fee for the new lease. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

THEY WILL STEAL YOU MONEY AND YOU CAN'T CANCEL.I had a unit, the wrong one was ordered and we ended up not needing it. Multiple hours on the phone holding and never getting connected to an agent (if you have to get ahold of them use the chat they don't have anyone who answers phones, cause they can have better retention not speaking to people but typing like robots.) longest time trying to get a hold of someone was 2 hours. Day of we show up and there is no one there and the office is temporarily closed due to something ( I think it was remodeling). We were unable to get into the unit as our code was not working, after almost an hour we got a hold of someone to get the code and got in and only to find it was not the size that was needed. We called multiple times within the "5" days cancel grace ****** and despite sending in pictures to the customer rep they told me the number I called was not them so they couldn't do anything about it. This company actually uses dummy phone numbers to have plausible deniability and doesn't answer phones and provides a chat service all so when you go to cancel you cannot and then any proof you would show that you had intent to cancel they can say they are not liable and cannot help you as you did not call them at the right number. In the end of talking to their supervisor chat rep (doubt they were a supervisor.) I made sure that our original reason for reaching out today was to make sure that it was cancelled and they could not answer me that question and just told me that an email went out and that would have the information about what we talked about.Needless you say they stole a whopping 58$ from me and I am sure I have cost their company more just trying to get it back so there's an example of how they run their business.

One star is not low enough for these pathetic a**holes.I have been at this facility for many years long before Red Dot took it over..Since they took over the facility; service and customer help and attention has went down the toilet. They eliminated an on site manager to help the customers. It's extremely hard to get any kind of service from them.Security lights were out for ***** to a year before they were fixed. They closed and locked the customer rest room. Now there is nowhere to go to the rest oom. They took away the dumpster that the customers could use. There is a bad rat problem in the units to which they've done nothing about. I've trapped over ********************************************** my unit. The gates and doors are frequently broken allowing anyone or anything in or out. They've frequently raised prices to the units. They just sent me a message that they're raising the rate $64 a month starting in October. To me at this time is price gauging.I tried to pay my August bill today to at least catch up. They would accept the payment unless I paid in full today for both months. To me, this is wrong to not accept what I can pay. I will be moving out as soon as I can possibly work things out.Red Dot Storage is a very bad storage place to deal wirh.I don't recommend anyone renting a unit from these people.
