  Great trip ******* *** ******** with NAWAS with great people, tour guide and Father Jim our host ! None stop touring to historic and holy places and also doing things on our own. Is my 3rd time touring with NAWAS??

  I echo the sentiments of the other dissatisfied travelers regarding the Holy Land 2023 trip. I have previously traveled with this company to ****** ******* ****** *** *** **** **** and the value of the trip was not in the company NAWAS but rather the priests who led the trips. Unfortunately, when issues prohibiting travel have arisen, NAWAS has once again dropped the ball exercised corporate greed in the same manner they did with the Passion Play in ******* in 2020 due to COVID. My wife, 74 year old mother and my self were scheduled for the Holy Land in November 2023. Due to the outbreak of war, the trip was reluctantly cancelled by NAWAS and their solution for reimbursement was for CREDITS (not figuring in inflation) that must be used within ONE CALENDAR YEAR of the Holy Land trip cancellation. For travelers such as my mother who has a significant chronic health condition and who was planning to make this her last trip, no alternative for reimbursement was offered. Further, the insurance for the trip that is promoted by NAWAS in its trip packets refused to pay out any of the trip cost despite full and timely premiums paid.
  The most disturbing aspect of the whole ordeal is the rudeness displayed by the company to us as customers in regards to our inquiries about the matter. We have attempted to limit our inquiries so as not to be bothersome but have been met with coarse rudeness and a take it or leave it approach by a company hiding behind the fine print in their travel contract.
  This company deserves less than one star for its stance in this and previous similar situations and I welcome any response from the company and its representatives for my correct recitation of the situation.

  NAWAS has not returned my deposit for a trip to Israel scheduled for Oct 2023. I canceled in writing well before the balance was due. I was told it was being kept as a processing fee. I was not comfortable in proceeding due to the attack on the Gellen camp and other countries raising their travel warnings. The trip was eventually cancelled. Still no return of deposit.

  Tour: Highlights of ******* * ********* October 2023. 48 people.
  1). The bus was the smallest bus I have ever seen for a tour. Nawas should have sent a substitute bus as soon as the tour guide realized how uncomfortable it was and how long it took to pack our suitcases every time, like a puzzle. My knees met the back of the seat in front of me enough to cause pain. I am 5’ 7” tall. Just imagine how the people who were over 6 feet felt.
  2). The itinerary was very poorly planned. Our group flew overnight from ********** **** and arrived at ******** at 5:30 AM. We then proceeded to drive hours and tour ********* cathedral and *********** and finally made it to our hotel at 7 PM for dinner. We are a group of mostly senior citizens. Some with canes one with a walker. Can you imagine how exhausted we were? We then proceeded to leave the next morning for tours driving several hours and again, arriving at a new hotel just in time for dinner.This happened three mornings in a row. This made the first four days of our tour very hard to enjoy.
  3). Our visit to ********* Castle started out very poorly. It was pouring rain and we had to stand outside in the rain and wind (umbrellas, turning inside out) while the tour guide, went to get the tickets. She should have told us to stay on the bus until she secured the tickets. We would have gotten wet but we wouldn’t have had to stand in the wind and rain for 20 minutes. By the time we were able to begin our tour, we were already wet and cold. This was an extremely disappointing experience.

  We took an ************ trip in October 2022 with NAWAS.
  Tour guide was from ******* and had minimal knowledge of the area and sometimes gave inaccurate info so most travelers just tuned her out.
  Seemed like we spent more time in truck stops than anywhere else.
  We have traveled with 3 other travel companies and NAWAS was by far the worst and the most expensive.
  On a positive note, we met some wonderful people on the trip.

  NAWAS booked a trip to ****** *or January 2024. It’s canceled due to the war. I am trying to get the $500 deposit back and they aren’t showing me where the 500 deposit is right now and how I can get it back. They claim war is a reason to keep a deposit and it’s not and it’s not legal. They are just giving us the run around. I will continue to pursue this until I get back the deposit.

  Nawas is a ripoff and was reported in USA Today as a company that is using monies today to pay for the past. We booked a group tour to ****** which as we all know is at war. While ****** *** and others have refunded payments, Nawas has chosen to refer people to their web page for terms and conditions NOT printed on their agreement. Their agreement has small type at the bottom (Less than 10 Point) refering you to a web page which is illegal in most states as the agreement MUST have written terms and conditions included on the paperwork you sign.
  This company has refered complaints for refunds to their attorneys to scare people, unfortunately for them I do not scare! DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. In my opinion they will rip you off by finding the cheapest airline and cheapest hotels to make the most money, or if theres a problem they will keep your money.

  Don’t use this tour company, too many problems. Hardly call this a pilgrimage. No replacement for tour leader who became ill. Group members left behind at scheduled sites. NO support from main office when called while on pilgrimage to *************. At most 2 hours to visit ********* and the same at ******* . Waste of $$$

  the tour guide was very good. At the end of the trip however, the return flight from ********* ****** was cancelled by the airline ********** We were left at the mercy of the agents. Expense was created for which I am waiting on ******* ******** to refund me as that is who I finally travelled with to get home. I purchased travel insurance prior to travelling too.
  The group was too large and some of the members were there for other reasons such as shopping, it would appear. The food at most of the hotels was not so good but I ate because I had no choice.

  Thank you for your comments. We have heard from many tour members of this departure who gave it fabulous reviews. High accolades were given to the tour guide Jose C****** the driver and all of the tour components. We are sorry your return flight was cancelled by the airlines, which was out of Nawas's control. The size of the group was determined by the priest who led the tour and not by Nawas Travel.

  Unsatisfactory. Arrived at ******** airport at 4.30am to find out flight to Us cancelled. No notification from Nawas.
  Had to remain another night in bc ******.
  Interruption of events in US
  Incurred additional taxi and phone charges.

We have heard this from your fellow tour members. We are sorry that you felt that some of your fellow tour members were not cordial. We apologize, but no tour company can control the interrelationships between tour passengers. Nawas also has no control of, nor is notified ahead of time by the airline about flight cancellations due to mechanical issues. We hope that you will consider Nawas for your future travels.
