One of the worst insurance companies. After being on a medication for over 2 years that's finally working without side affects they've decided to deny the renewal. They're forcing my husband to change the medication to what THEY want/recommended him to take NOT THE DOCTOR and now expect to go through the prior approval process for their recommended medication. The doctor doesn't want to change the medication AETNA wants to because they no longer feel like paying for it. Insurance companies should not be allowed to play with people livelihood and Lives! The medical in this country is a joke thanks to insurances like Aetna. Only class action law suits will fix this bureaucratic mess

Very dishonest company, which ends up costing innocent people hundreds and thousands of dollars.

Well, for starters. I had to pay out of pocket for 1 of my medication. 89.95, that was on March 1st. Of this year. I even got an approval letter saying. I would be reimbursed. Hum. Never happened. Then, I called Friday. The lady kept transferring and saying HUM!. this terrible. What a great plan I have. Hum.
Then, I asked where she was, she said, oh the Philippines. There was so much noise in background.
I live in the great USA. And. They get contracts with other countries. And. Take our jobs away. This is very sad. ***** ******

Signed up for advantage value plan in March. Insurance directories not updated. Doctors on directories not accepting patients. Took two months to find a doctor. Then ordered OTC benefit online on May 27. Never received after 10 days.. Called customer service and told to wait 4 more days. Called and told to wait until June 13 Called June 13 and told to called USPS to track. I refused. Not my mistake. Had ordered another set of products on June 9th. Received email that I would get email when shipped. Called on June 13 and yd that product was to arrive today by 7 pm. Asked why I never received email that
when shipped. Customer service could not explain. Hoping it arrives today. Customer service agents barely speak English and can't communicate effectively. Also had trouble in CVS stores. Target CVS in Columbus , Ohio refused to honor my OTC benefit. CVS on 5th ave in Columbus cashier tried to tell me that benefit not good because price higher in store. Had to show her OTC app that said it was. She took personal information than charged me more than products purchased. She finally got it straightened out. Many issues
      with this horrible insurance.

Horrible experiences with Aetna Ins. I have spent 2 1/2 hours being tossed from one nice representative to another but none of them could actually solve my problem. I needed a copy of my benefits sent to an out-of-network provider. Not difficult. They spent most of their time trying to steer me to an in network provider that I do not want to use. I have a legal right to my copy of benefits and when I reminded them of this, they offered to mail it to me via USPS. Really? In an age of fax, texts and emails the only way to send it is via USPS with an anticipated delivery date that they gave to me of 2 to 3 weeks out. Aetna uses Eyemed to provide for eye care. They were not helpful at all. FINALLY, I was put through to an Aetna Eyecare area and the representative solved the issue in less than 2 minutes. My only comment to Aetna is that you have great employees, empower them with tools to satisfy the customer… not make them angry. You can only guess what I will do when open enrollment comes along.

They lied to me about coverage of all the meds I take. They told me that all of my prescriptions would be covered with the extra help that I had and they told me all of them would be covered and fact I would pay zero for brand or generic. But guess what they denied my one pre-authorization. And they did not cover my other medication that cost me personally $1,200.

I pay $1200 dollars a month on ACA for Bronze tier 4 to keep my doctor. because I am 62 years old and not eligible for medicare and have no alternative, Aetna just came in to ********. very high deductible. I don't need much from doctors yet and **** was $1500 for ppo to keep my doc. Thank you ***** *****
I went in Jan for my wellness, 100% covered per policy. They denied much of it. 5 months and many phone calls later, saying on May 10th, Ticket number *** *** *** that is was in fact all covered. Today, 7 June, they did not cover and claim my pap was not covered, my pee in a cup was not covered, my blood work not covered. I am on the phone with them again, denied again.
We need a civil suit against Aetna. Immediately. Any ideas

I have Aetna HMO special needs with zero co-pay zero out-of-pocket and they keep telling me I owe $2060.00 I’ve spent 4 1/2 hours on the phone getting transferred to different people on 6/7/2024 and a three-way call that lasted about an hour and a half with Aetna manager caseworker and Accounts Department As one of them was looking up my account they did say I had zero co-pay and zero out-of-pocket, I had to call my Medicare Agent for them to deal with it. I feel like Aetna Insurance company is discriminating against me. And not want to honor the Insurance contract I have with them, so therefore, I will probably change my insurance coming up in just a few months at the enrollment time. I’ve never had this much problems with insurance company that I’m having with Aetna right now.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE--AVOID AETNA IF AT ALL POSSIBLE!! Having worked with multiple other insurance companies at previous jobs, I unfortunately tried Aetna in January 2024. It has been one thing after another with no resolution to my calls/requests/etc. Not only are there cheaper prescriptions that I've had to use (they clearly are all about the $$), but their disabled dependent process is insulting! There is a reason why several of my former doctor's offices will no longer work with Aetna & I will never work with them again if at all possible.
