      I've been with Aetna for 2 weeks and already tearing my hair out. They keep giving me primary doctors that are 50 miles away despite me telling them which doctors I want. You will NEVER be able to get in contact with these guys. Live chat is useless, sending messages they will lie to you about which doctor they assigned you, calling on the phone always leads to a robot which hangs up on you.
      These business practices should be illegal!! Unreal!

      Absolute trash customer service. I was charged $225 for some claim because "This entity or provider is not recognized for coverage or cannot be located." This is a very true statement because in trying to locate ******* ******* ***** I could not find them either. I am currently on the phone with customer for the 2nd time after the first lady placed me on hold and hung up. This call has now lasted 45min and the lady will not provide me with any information on my claim as to diagnosis codes, treatment codes, or location of services so I can try and figure out what is going on. She just keeps saying that I will be updated on or before 10/8/2022. I have asked to speak to a supervisor or anyone who is available to look over the claim again to no avail.

      Aetna has owed me a refund check for over 3 months… they say the checks in the mail, and yet I don’t have it.
      9 phone calls, and we’ll over 8 hours on the phone with them and no resolution.
      DO NOT GET AETNA INSURANCE… REVIEWS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES.

      If you need to file out of network claims, be prepared for Aetna to consistently enter the WRONG information in their system.
      It does not matter that you sent in a receipt, that the receipt is legible, has all required info… they have repeatedly made up provider names for my claims. I am then forced to call multiple times to address these issues so that they will process my claim. One example “issue” is that they don’t know the provider name, what school they went to, etc.
      IF THEY LOOKED AT THE RECEIPT THEY WOULD SEE ALL THE INFO IS THERE!!
      I’d love to say that once the first claim is paid, they wont do it again but the same issue has happened twice after my first claim was paid.
      There are also now issues with claims from other providers - these claims have in the past been processed without any problems.
      This is all a scam. When I call, the customer service rep says they can see all the info in my receipt. They then have to talk to someone else to see what they can do. The solution is always to reprocess - read wait a few more weeks!

      I joined Aetna on August 1 through my employer. Paying good money ever since. 17 days later, I still cannot access coverage because they don't have my member ID - not even a digital one. Currently on the phone (45 minutes and counting) trying to get through to a supervisor to (hopefully) get me the member ID.

      as others I would give zero if possible, Absolutely no customer service, the call center is full of background noise, and even simple question like providing a copy of summary of benefits and coverage they can't do!

      They denied my wife’s MRI thats been scheduled for over a month just 4 days before it was to take place because they don’t want it to be through the UW. The only place in our area that can do it. They promised over the phone we would receive details on alternative yesterday. We have received nothing. They are actively contributing to my wife’s suffering. They do not follow through and their customer service actively lies.

      Been fighting a claim for Covid testing from 12/2020 till now. It’s been nearly nearly two years and they just barely made things right. NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING UPFRONT!! Aetna will fight tooth and nail to try and not pay you back for it, even though you call and check that it’s covered before you set up the appointment. I had to place a formal complaint through BBB in order for Aetna to even START looking at my claim 1.5 years later. Absolutely ridiculous. They’ll also have you cash a check, then months later cancel that check so that you have to pay your bank a fee for cashing a stopped check. I’m now fighting for them to reimburse me for that fee when I clearly did nothing wrong. If only my work isn’t contracted with Aetna….

      No providers. We have an Aetna EPO, so no out of network coverage. When employer switched us from ****** to Aetna, we lost our pediatrician, my GP, and all specialists for myself and husband. Our kids have not seen a pediatrician in 16 months because we can’t find one in network and accepting new patients - and we are in NYC, not rural Alaska! We just see a doc in the box for urgent needs. We have no idea what to do for a massively overdue well child visit. I now have an NP (who is 70 min away) as my GP because I could not find an in-network MD. I have not been able to get care for a chronic condition since we had Aetna.
      They are the worst. We are trying to switch jobs just to get away from them. Hours spent on the phone chasing down providers who are listed as in network but actually are not, or are listed as wrong specialty, or who are not accepting new patients. Plan costs more than the ****** plan with worse coverage and NO DOCTORS!
