      I have two complaints. The first being, I tore my wrist at work 2 years ago. I called to let them know, because I wanted to go get my wrist x-rayed that same day. It took them 3-4 weeks to give me a claim number, urgent care wouldn’t help me at all in the meantime without it. My wrist sustained further damage going without care in the following weeks, and what may have been able to be fully healed had it been treated immediately, is now a life long disability. THANKS HARTFORD.
      The second complaint, is two years later. My last year of running my business, it was not as successful. I reported in my audit that I made a significantly smaller income for the year of 2023, and they’ve decided that I should pay MORE for the workers comp coverage for that year, on top of what I already paid, and despite the fact I didn’t even use my workers compensation at all that year.
      This company is just one big scam and I couldn’t be more unsatisfied with them. I used them for 5 years, and I say good riddance. I don’t recommend anyone going to them for their insurance needs

      Been with Hartford for 15 years. No tickets, no accidents, 20 yr old toyato and my new premium was raise by 50%!!!! With an outlandish reason of auto costs have gone up!!! Screw them dropped them and went with **** And am informing **** of this as well who promotes Hartford!!!

      I had surgery and have been out of work for 17 weeks, my company paid short disability was great (not Hartford). when it came time for long term(Hartford). I filled out all the required paperwork and supplied them with all the doctors phone numbers as required. 4 weeks into waiting to get my first check (they claim it takes this long to process). I went online to check my status. I could not login to my account, I contacted my work and they contacted Hartford. They closed my case without telling anyone or asking for any information. When I contacted them they said I did not respond in a timely manner. WTH!! so I asked them what they needed they said they never received anything from my doctor, so I call the doctor and they said they had faxed the forms to them. So I call Hartford they say they don't have it, I told them the exact date it was sent. Wow they found it, they proceed to do this with every doctor I seen. Now they want medical notes from every doctor. I send them that information. I have had to personally contact every doctor and drive to doctors offices. This is the worst company I have ever felt with, I still have not received any payments.

      I got injured on the job and it took them over a week to send me an email back to let my employer know that I needed to go and get physical therapy during that week I was stoved up in a hotel room in another state Tennessee so when my time came to go home I still hadn't heard from them so I went ahead and took my trip back to ***** after I got back to ***** I was informed that I would not receive any help at all unless I drove back to ********* then I was given a survey to let them know how I felt about the person handling my case little did I know that the person handling my case was the one who sent me the survey so I was very surprised after telling them how I really felt about the person that was lollygagging on my case that she was worthless only to find out the person I was telling that to was the same person that sent me the survey so it fell on deaf ears and after that I was swept under the carpet I was made to look like I was just trying to get money from somebody and she even tried to tell the doctors what to say on their forms to send them back to her so that I would not receive any benefits here I am 3 years later finding out that this company is a joke and wishing I would have pursued it long story short don't trust the heart for their dirty from the gate right to the top

      This company did not provide clear communication. It took several attempts via email and calling to obtain a review of their decision on a roof claim in *****. They went from approving the repair some missing shingles to a full slope replacement based upon my independent adjusters report because their original adjuster did not do a thorough inspection. Then they brought an out of state engineer who was not familiar with ***** building codes. After that review they added "2 additional shingles" to be replaced on another slope. I would not recommend them for home insurance in *****.

      DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. NOTHING BUT INCOMPETENT AGENTS AND MISINFORMATION TO DELAY PAYMENT!!!!! THEY WILL TELL YOU DONT HAVE COVERAGE WHEN YOU DO! THEY WILL GIVE REPEATED EXCUSES!

      This company is definitely inept at providing diligent claims administration. My STD claim has been submitted since 9/15 and through a series of errors in their end and continuous delays, my short term disability claim is still pending after an initial denial. This has been a true nightmare trying to get someone competent at The Hartford to exercise any consideration, care, compassion. They make claims administration a maze and its intentional. They sent forms in Spanish, they've made duplicate requests of information all in an effort to delay the process. I have made numerous complaints to my employer.

      Absolutely horrible insurance company to deal with after an accident. Never filed a claim in my life and the delay excuses were ridiculous. I have never experienced anything like this before. They would send me to one department after another just to delay payment It was so obvious what they were doing.

      Horrible company-they definitely promote insurance fraud. The most after working with 4 individuals is to increase premiums - No integrity- no honesty. Am working with the Attorney General to put the thief away and every federal fraud insurance company to deal with The Hartford.

      If I could give them a zero I would. I paid the full amount on my auto and homeowners insurance up front. After a year, they jacked up my rate almost double for no reason. I switched over to ******** and got a great rate on both policies. Apparently The Hartford (AKA: ******) didn't like that and decided to cancel for non-payment, which was okay with me since I switched insurance companies. Then two months later they sent me a bill because "I didn't have the courtesy to let them know I canceled/let it lapse for non-payment." They told me they did ME the courtesy of extending my policy, even though they canceled it. The courtesy? Are you kidding me? I told them I wasn't going to pay them. A month later they sent me another bill with a $10.00 late fee. After contacting my ******** agent, and 51 minutes later on the phone, their "supervisor" canceled the invoice (bill), but only after my agent threatened to notify the Ohio Department of Insurance for their unethical business practice. The law says you can't have two insurance policies on the same auto/home. Now, four months later, they sent me another bill for$71.95 for "Cancelled for non-payment" on my Homeowners Policy. What the hell is going on with this company? If I could sue them for emotional distress I would. I wish I had read these reviews before going with this rip off company.
