      Soooooo upset hartford didn't report that I have insurance and now I have a lapse and have been driving around not knowing and wasn't able to renew my tags because it shows I have no insurance when I do. After this month I'm leaving this company, they are horrible!!!

      If I could give a zero I would. I ultimately had to leave Hartford due to them doubling my annual insurance rate. My insurance went from $2,000 plus a year to $4,000 per year. I called the Hartford and was dismissed and made to feel unimportant. I asked if there was anything for veterans that could assist in getting my premium lower and was told, they do not cater to veterans. I felt like they did not care about me as a customer and were not willing to give me an answer as to why my rate doubled. I had never so much as had an accident nor made a claim. They are absolutely not for the elderly l, or my community of veterans.

      It’s been 3 weeks and I haven’t seen a penny from them for short-term disability. Calling them. Emailing them. It’s like speaking to them for the first time all over again when we make contact. I’m going to be contacting a STD lawyer though because I am done dealing with them. They can handle the big guys now.

      Don't get the hartford as a std or Ltd insurance from them. When you send a letter stating that you will be paid your payment on a specific day ( on or before aug31) and it not your account. We have a problem. Then when you call and the representative tells you that they didn't process your payment till the day it is suppose to be in your acct and it going to be another 48 business hrs before it is available. My health insurance was cancelled and have no food to eat in the house. You now make me have to go 4 days without eating. **** *** hartford I don't trust your company to even give a care in the world about people you just want their hard earned money and no cares about how you are screwing people over. Unfortunately I have to at least give u a 1 star. If option to give negative stars is possible you would have a negative 100 stars from me. So be thankful that consumers can't give ya negative.

      I've been out of work (home depot) for a little over a month now. My back condition is getting worse to where i cant even walk. Probably about to need a second back surgery. Been dealing with the hartford for the past few weeks. Customer service has been horrible. I've sent in all requested documents multiple times and my doctors have filled out and faxed all necessary documents. Still seems like nothing is happening. All phone representatives aren't being helpful at all

      The Hartford is a scam. I have carried a policy with them through my company for over 20 years. Well… now I need to use my STD to deal with mental health issues that require extensive trauma therapy. I can not be in the workplace while doing this therapy. It’s very stressful and triggering according to my therapist who won’t start it until she knows I am on STD. The Hartford has asked for the same paperwork repeatedly. My therapist has been so accommodating. They have had my case in claim pending status for 2 weeks. This has been going on over a month. I have asked repeatedly for my adjuster to call me… haven’t heard a word. When I call I get some generic answer read from a script. Why is this company in business? I have read so many horrible reviews and only now after 20 plus years of giving them my money am I actually researching how horrible they are. I’m going to be reaching out to my HR team and questioning why we have a company representing us that has zero integrity as the company I work for the # 1 core value is… integrity. Hey Hartford…. You work for us. Not the other way around. I promise you … people like me who expose how horrible you are … will be your eventual downfall. You can’t even be endorsed by the BBB!! Hopefully AARP will stop taking your hush money and stop endorsing you as well as our senior communities don’t deserve this treatment either. Useless employees. Money down the drain. Politicians or The Hartford? I’ll take more of a chance on the politicians. At least they know they need you. ***** you Hartford.

      Yet again The Hartford didn't process the August payment that was set up for autopay and the policy would have been cancelled again if I didn't catch this. I am confused at their lack of ownership of this matter. I've asked this before, who runs their billing department? It's as if they want policies to be dropped just so they don't have to pay. If I wasn't my mother's POA and advocate, her policy would be dropped and she would be out of home owner's insurance with no help from THE HARTFORD.

      I would give them less than one if I could because I've got nothing but to run around for the past 3 weeks one person to tell me they're waiting on my employer to confirm I have coverage then another one would tell me they're waiting on the doctor to send paperwork then another one will tell me they're waiting on both nothing's being done this company is the worst company in the world so if you're workplace offers Hartford long term or short-term disability or any insurance to do with the Hartford tell them thanks but no thanks bypass this company they are the worst customer service people I ever seen in my life oh and by the way my short-term disability claim was for having part of my foot amputated but they never made an attempt to even try to collect whatever information they needed to get my claim through all they did is wait until the claim ran out to deny it. Stay away from this company they're just like any other big insurance company you will pay in for years and years and years and then when you actually need it they deny your claim and you're out so put your money in a jar and dig a hole in the backyard and Mark it well at least that way you'll know where your money's at and can get it anytime!

      I 'm so disappointed after being with this insurance company for years and when I need them they are not keeping their promise. Their comprehensive insurance plan says I am covered and they agreed. They claim to have 1600 "Auto Repair Shops" so I put in my location as they asked five come back as Collison & Glass or Collision Body, and or Crash, None come back as auto repair but you figure if a car has been in an accident it needs and auto repair mechanic especially it it's a Collision or Crash shop.
      So I called the ******** * ***** **** and asked if they do auto repair for The Hartford they said yes. I then asked and towing they said yes. I called and confirmed all this with The Hartford, who my comprehensive insurance is with, and they agreed and confirmed with their confirmation I called the ********* * ***** **** back and they came and towed my car to their shop. It all changed when I arrived and didn't agree to sign the paperwork they were rushing me to fill out. I refused I hadn't read them. So they now say they don't do auto repair and my adjuster still hasn't found one in their list. It is now August 19, 2024 she refuses to call or answer my emails think its been since July 16, 2024.
      Finally, all the money I've invested over the years, so I can spend time with my family. I filed my claim on July 1, 2024 I would've filed earlier but I had let go of my full coverage which I got because of my children, my grandchildren and great grandchildren, relatives, and great-grandchildren especially this last year, these last few months is a waste, and jeopardizing my health. I'm to old for this lets talk and since you won't talk to me maybe you will talk to BBB. Be Blessed and Safe to All involved.

      This insurance company is a complete hoax for seniors. I purchased car insurance from this AARP company back in 2020. At that time they had granted me a good rate for liability and comprehensive insurance. Each year that was a slight increase. This year they sent me an advertisement stating that I could save with an additional discount if I bundled car and home. So I purchased the home insurance also. Surprisingly when I received the statement they increase my car insurance by at least 30% and my home insurance increased a whopping 40%. I called to see what happened. I had never made a claim with this company. The agent only offered a small reduction on my car insurance if I just selected liability and dropped comprehensive insurance. He decreased it by $10 and said that was all I needed because my car was old. Thankfully I was able to find an insurance company that decreased my home insurance by $1000 with the same coverage and gave me liability and comprehensive for a price less than The Hartford was giving me for liability only. I can’t help but think this company is practicing discrimination against elderly and people of color. I am leaving AARP. They don’t care about seniors at all!
