I've had travelers insurance for 3 years, we had us wind storm in 2020 in my area shortly after that storm we noticed leaking in the back room of our home that went down to the basement. I contacted travelers they seem so nice in the beginning, when the rep came out he bragged about people hate seeing him because how tough he was on claims. He looked at the damage to our home took pictures and said he would send all this through and help us with the issues at hand. We received a check for small damages to our home for the amount of $1,300, I tried reaching out to the rep to find out what was this amount for because it didn't cover the problem with the roof band damaged, he replied back by email is to replace the damage drywall inside the home but not cover the roof because it was a flashing issue, then close the case. Shortly after we go into the winter season we didn't notice any leaks, by early spring of 2021 the problem started again we had multiple roofers come out to indicate it was hail damaged and high wind damage and the roof needs to be replaced. I turn this in to travelers who sent another rep out and said the exact same thing it was flashing issues and will not be covered. This year we received a letter in the mail that travelers is no longer going to renew our insurance, by doing so we're being denied by every insurance company and we had to come out of our own pocket to get our roof repair that wasn't a flashing issue it was hell and storm damage. I think travelers is biased against certain people and certain areas and the underwriters do not care about us or anyone else they take your money they strain you alone and then they cancel you, I would never recommend travelers insurance for anyone of certain races and the demographics of their living locations..

When our basement flooded due to three days of rain I called our agent. No reply! I called the toll free number and they gave me the number for ******, one of the people they use in these situations. No call back from them either. I later found out that a flooded basement isn’t covered as it is “an act of God”. Of course Travelers never told me flooding was not covered although it is in the 59 page policy document one must sign. Very disappointed and disgusted with this firm.

Horrible. Bf was hit by a driver insured by Travellers. 100% her fault. Video of accident shows. This was beginning of March 2023, today is May 11,2023… still have yet to receive a check from travelers. They don’t answer the phone. Have excuses… totaled the vehicle out yet vehicle sets at a garage that is piling up storage fees… took two weeks for them to get us a rental. This company sucks. Lazy employees, the adjuster only works in our area 2 days a week, that’s their excuse for not getting back to us, yet when we call his cell phone you can tell he hits ignore. This has been financially crippling as the vehicle is what my bf uses for his work. Missed work bc of this… I’ve had it with this company. If they could get 0 stars they would. Piss poor customer service… don’t like to pay. Do not buy insurance thru this company, they are absolutely horrible!

Had filed an injury claim with Travelers 10 days back. Claim handler is unprofessional and does not return calls or emails even after reaching out multiple times. Not sure how to proceed due to such lack of availability.

I have been a loyal Traveler's customer for 20 years. Recently, I received a letter from Geico, my insurance agent, saying that my homeowner's policy through Traveler's was being non-renewed because I no longer qualified for insurance coverage.
A year ago I filed the only claim I have ever made because the feet fell off the back of a clawfoot tub in a bathroom and it catapulted the front end of the tub up in the air. Although there was no water damage, the PVC drain pipe to the tub snapped in half and had to be replaced. The total of the claim was only about $2300.
The letter from ***** indicated that the claim had been listed as a "non-weather-related water event", so I called ***** to say there had been a mistake as there was no water damage. ***** agreed and assumed that was the reason for the cancellation and contacted the underwriters at Travelers. Traveler's admitted that there had been no "water event" but refused to give a reason for the non-renewal. ***** said they couldn't get the policy reinstated and offered me a more expensive policy.
I made a complaint about ***** to The Better Business Bureau, and ***** called back today and said that the reason for the non-renewal was that there had been a second claim on the policy within a three year period. I told them there had been no second claim. What they are calling a claim was a phone call I made to Travelers to ask what my deductible was. A window had cracked and I wanted to see if I should file a claim. I did not file a claim nor was any money ever paid out for a repair, but the Travelers policy says that the phone call constitutes a claim. ***** says that I should have known to call them instead of the customer service number on my Travelers policy.
This is clearly a load of nonsense and a deliberate attempt to find an excuse to cancel the policy after twenty years. It is at best disingenuous and at worst unethical.

This company is terrible. My claim manager was a complete jerk. Michael T****** was so rude to me from the second he called. I’ve never experienced someone with that type of an attitude when I’m a paying customer. Inexcusable.

Transferred policies due to lower premiums. First renewal comes up and my policies have went up by $500 a year. No accidents or claims or any other reason for policy to go up that much. Called their CS and the guy on the phone flat out lied to me and said state insurance commission raised all of travelers rates, THIS IS A FLAT OUT LIE by the CS rep I spoke with. Insurance commissions only approve rate increases, they do mandate them. Very DISHONEST company.

Tried to cancel my policy in January over the phone. Lo and behold I get a bill in the mail for twelve hundred dollars stating that I owe Traveler's for insurance that I wasn't using from January to April because they failed to cancel my policy.

Zero stars. Horrible communication and the ONLY thing they care about is money. Worst experience I’ve ever had.

Travelers Auto is a BAD choice. They are overpriced and customer service is like talking to low functioning zoo animals. They will continue to take the premium even when you cancel. Travelers apparently needs 20 or so days to cancel a policy and refund the customer. They charged me $2,000/6 mos, and now with Progressive I pay $600/6 months for the same coverage. I have no accidents or tickets and Travelers slowly increased my premiums over time. They are confidence artists and will not work for you but against you.
