I can't even offer a rating. They are so unprofessional and unethical there is no star rating that is applicable. After requesting a second inspection for my roof what we received were lies and then a threatening letter. They made accusations in this letter that were solely based on assumptions NOT FACT. I would not refer this company to anyone. I will however share my experience. In my opinion they are thieves. We sent all of our information to Travels and yet we have not heard from them.

Our problems with Travelers seem never-ending. Most recently, we reported to them a new roof installation (as we were aware that discounts may be available), and they asked for a receipt. Fast forward a month and a half later, and we receive a notice that we failed to submit to them specific information about the roof installation/repairs (i.e. photos, etc.) and that they are, therefore not renewing our policy. Yet we literally never received any follow-up from anyone at Travelers or their 3rd party firm (*** ********* ******** **** asking for additional information about the new roof. Not a call or a letter requesting more information.
Instead, we just got a notice of policy termination in the mail out of nowhere, claiming we'd neglected to send them additional information. This appalling failure of communication is entirely on Travelers and *** ********* ******** **** given that we took the initiative of reaching out to them to inform them of our new roof. It was their responsibility to let us know what other information they needed from us. Again, travelers made this decision to not renew our policy without any notice to us that they needed additional documentation regarding the roof work.
Worse yet, their 3rd party agent at *** ********* ******** had the gall to claim their own president reached out to us via email; of course, we checked our email and spam box and found no such email from them. On top of it, the agent then claimed basically "well, it's better to switch anyway because your Travelers rate was going to go up." I'm blown away by this frankly unlawful termination of our insurance policy, and it's yet another terrible experience with Travelers. I've never seen anything like this, which is why we'll never recommend Travelers to anyone and can't wait to be done with them and *** ********* ******** ***. Stay away from this company.

Back in November, I was in a front end collision, caused by another driver running a red light. There is a police report stating the driver even ran the red light, and I do not live in a "no fault" state, so clearly the accident was caused by the other driver. After I filed the claim, and sent photos of the damage to my car through the snap shot in the Travelers App, I honestly assumed they would end up totally the vehicle due to the fact it was a front end collision. Instead I received a call a few weeks later stating they would pay to have the vehicle fixed. Ok fine, I took the vehicle to the collision to have fixed, and when it returned I had a check engine light on. I took it back to the shop, and after looking at it they informed me I would have to take it elsewhere. I took the car to another shop, and had them send over a supplement for the repairs, as requested by my insurance. Travelers then calls a few days later and informs me that they will not pay out for the repairs because the problems were not caused by the accident. Prior to the accident I had no problems with my vehicle, no check engine lights, nothing that would cause concern, and now all of sudden after a front end collision, all the problems not fixed were "not" caused by the accident but "normal" ware and tare on the vehicle. Not only did they not pay to fix my vehicle properly, but I was told after an accident my car has no depreciation value, which completely blows my mind. I feel after this ordeal which has gone on for months and is not be resolved properly, Travelers has done nothing for me as their client, and I feel they did not even try to fight to get the proper compensation after an accident that is clearly is not my fault. All they did was figure the cheapest way to deal with the problem in hopes I would not pursue further action, and accept the end result. After all this is said and done, I'm switching my insurance because they are a waste of money.

Absolutely terrible company. I had auto insurance with this company and from day one had issues with any of my payments being processed. I called them multiple times to resolve the issues and they were never resolved. I had spoken to my agent who has since ghosted me. If you want to pay for half of your insurance claim out of your own pocket I would recommend Travelers

Travelers canceled our home insurance after 3 years. We had never missed a payment or paid late. Only filed one small claim. They stated our roof was damaged when it was not. No one even inspected it. We got a new roof in 2014 and have had no storms or damage. We had a roofing company come inspect it and they said the roof was fine and even gave us a signed letter stating the roof had no damage. They obviously lied about the roof. I would never trust them again or recommend them to anyone.

They lied about what they would cover for hail damage, to my house. The claim professional said that they would cover repair costs, to the decking, but failed to modify the approval invoice estimate so the claim professional refused to honor all the work the vendor did to bring my roof up to code.
If you’re ok with your home improvement specialists getting screwed over then this is the insurance company for you.

I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone. it is best to avoid them. We had some severe winds upwards of 60-70mph, that damaged my roof. I contacted them to file a claim, first rep was great to deal with, almost a week later, I get a call from an claim specialist or whatever they are calling themselves now. Jaclyn, and she basically tells me that they predetermined that the damage to my roof wouldn't hit my deductible, they haven't even come out to look at it, and checked for other damage. I am confused because I have a relatively low deductible, just to find out they have a SEPERATE deductible for roof and its 1% of the total coverage. Based off of this I can estimate that I could replace my full roof, or about 80% of it and it wouldnt hit that deductible, No point in having insurance on my roof because it wont ACTUALLY covered by them. she asked if I wanted to cancel the claim, I said "no send your inspector out, I just hope it isn't a waste of our time." Regardless of if they cover it I can have a report of damages, I can use, not to mention this should count towards my deductible anyways(The reason they wanted me to cancel is so that they wouldn't have to count it towards my deductible on my roof). A week later I get a letter saying they are confirming my decision to cancel. I didnt, so I called in, to get that fixed and got a rep that didn't even seem like she wanted to be there or talk to people, got transferred to Matthew a supposed supervisor(If he is he shouldnt be) who spent the whole time talking over me, not letting me get a word in, acting like they hadnt done anything wrong, when I pointed out he was refusing to let me talk and cutting me off everytime i tried to say anything, he replied, "Yes sir you are cutting me off" then said this was a waste of time and hung up on me. I ended up contacting their consumer affairs department, but based off of other reviews its just a waste of time. Shopping for new insurance yay!

This company started off good. But over 3 years they have raised my rates over 30 percent. Combined policies were increased $600.00 this year. I did not have any claims. I also bundle and pay in full. Something should be done to stop these companies from over charging and increasing insurance premiums. I am actively searching for another insurance carrier.

They were a replacement for my previous insurance who raised our rates saying it was because of the forest fires in California and the floods in Texas and Arkansas. Will travelers raise our rate for our homeowners insurance over a $1,000 a year with the excuse that it was our state tax was the reason for the increase. Well I found out this was a lie as our state has not passed anything to increase homeowners insurance premiums! So thank you travelers for raising our rates because we found somebody better we actually saved over $1,500 a year and we were paying less than what we were paying with you guys so bye and good riddance!
