Door to door sales person stopped by, acted like I was the crazy one when she said who she was with and I said I never heard of them. After I told her no several times, she became very pushy and was demanding to see a copy of my power bill saying I don't have a choice that the switch is being made. If the switch is being made, and I don't have a choice, why did she need any of my info or see an existing bill? Finally after telling her we're done, she accused me of not caring for the Earth because I don't want clean energy...good times. After seeing the reviews here, this makes perfect sense.

Hi Tony, we’re sorry to hear of your experience. In your area, our Community Solar program is an option available for savings. A portion of the total production value of your spot on a Community Solar farm would apply to reduce your bill if you were to enroll. However, our Community Solar program is optional, meaning that you would not need to enroll if our program was not going to meet your needs. We do apologize for the behavior of this representative, and you can rest assured we will work to address it on our end.
While we have shared this feedback with our Sales team for quality assurance, you are welcome to reach out to our Member Experience team at ******************* or at 866-526-0083 from 9am to 5pm EST, Monday through Friday with any additional questions or feedback about your experience.

I’m another unhappy customer. Called Xcel today and found out that Arcadia didn’t pay my bill on time last month (even though I have an autopay set up with Arcadia) so I have an overdue balance. Also, my December bill was $510, not the $611 Arcadia charged me.

Hi Cassandra, we’re sorry to hear of your experience and would be glad to make it right.
It looks like Xcel issued two bills for your account in December, the first of which was handled successfully through our Auto-Pay program. At times when bills are issued in quick succession by your utility, the second can be missed due to having been issued on an irregular timeline. In your case, the second bill was not managed successfully and carried over to your January balance as a result. This is not the typical Auto-Pay experience, and you can rest assured that your monthly payments are still set to be managed through our system.

SCAM SCAM SCAM. They've overcharged me over $500 collectively from the time I was enrolled. I called customer service last week and was told that an investigation would be opened and someone would get back to me in 48-72 hours, and that there was no higher level rep I can speak to. I called again today about a week later after no response, no email or call back or anything. This rep told me that my utility bills were somehow lower because of the extra money that was charged goes to my credits? For example, on my last bill I paid before cancelling Arcadia, National Grid charged $53.06. Then Arcadia adds $116.52 on top of that for "Community Solar Farm". And then I'm discounted 5% savings from Community Solar Farm: $5.83. So what, I'm paying x2 my original bill to save 5 bucks? Anyway I asked to speak to higher level rep, to anyone else about my problem, and even for a legal representative I can contact about this. She refused and said there's literally no one else I can speak to unless I want to call back later for another rep. She wouldn't even give me a phone number to any other department or anything. You'd think they can higher more people with how much money they steal, but then again having one rep who won't allow you to speak to anyone else must be a walling-off sort of tactic to keep customers from getting any help. Oh, and because my money went to my "credits" and my account was closed because I stopped paying Arcadia for their service, I can't get my money back anyway, apparently. Complete scam company and waste of time. I thought I was doing something better for myself and for greener industries but this company is just a greenwashing scam. Avoid them at all costs and if you have hundreds of dollars to waste and never get back, you might as well put it towards getting your own solar panels or something else. Absolute waste of time and money.

Hi Freya, we’re sorry to hear of your experience and would be glad to provide clarification here.
First, we do have an option to request a call back from a manager, but no immediate direct line. It looks like the agent handing the call in question needed to end the call due to the use of inappropriate language.
Regarding your charges through Arcadia, after review, we have verified that you have not been overcharged. Instead, you have received lower bills than you otherwise would have access to due to the application of your Community Solar credits.
On your National Grid bills, you received a monthly Community Net Metering Adjustment that reduced the amount displayed as due. That credit was applied only because of your Community Solar enrollment with Arcadia and as a result, a 5% portion of that credit is yours to keep while the remaining 95% is owed back to the solar farm for maintenance and operation. This distribution was managed through your Arcadia Auto-Pay and resulted in lower charges. You can learn more about this as a result:

Poor customer service and while with Arcadia I endured a tripling of my energy costs compared to their competitors. Had hopes I'd be helping the planet by patronizing solar, however Arcadia failed me. Promised me by 6 months I'd be connected with a solar farm but that didn't happen. Promised me a signing bonus, but that didn't happen. When 2 bills went up over 48 cents per kwh, I'd had enough and bailed.

Hi Greg, we’re sorry to hear of your experience and would be glad to make it right.
First, it sounds like you are referencing your electric supply rate with Clearview Electric which was most recently over 48 cents per kWh. To clarify, Arcadia is not affiliated with Clearview Electric and is not able to impact your electric supply rate. We would recommend contacting Clearview Electric directly to inquire.
Regarding Community Solar, the enrollment process does take several billing cycles, the length of which depends on availability of projects in your area.

Long on hype and promise; short on actual delivery. Signed up 18 months ago and still zero delivered community solar power. Good in theory, but in practice?

      Arcadia Power, Inc.

      Date: 01/13/2023

Hi Oskar, we’re sorry to hear of your experience and would be glad to make it right.
It looks like you have also contacted our Member Experience team to discuss, but we had you set for enrollment on a Community Solar project that is anticipated to become active at the end of this month, January 2023. Our Community Solar program operates on a first come, first serve basis. We do attempt to secure enrollment on a Community Solar farm as soon as possible after the time of sign up, but this timeline can be impacted by development delays for new projects.

Just had the Arcadia rep knock on my door. He tried his sales pitch but I was automatically turned off by his jeans being lowered than his I underwear. He gave me his pamphlet and we parted ways. I immediately came to BBB and was so happy I didn’t waste my time. Just a warning to others. When these sales rep make these grandiose statements about how much you’ll save on your electric bill by switching to renewable energy, don’t believe. Renewable energy has not panned out like we thought it was a few years ago. You will save nothing and judging by the comments, you maybe paying more. Even the electric car industry that was meant to save cost of fuel is a total failure. If you can afford it and want to feel good that you’re making a difference saving the environment, god bless you. The people who are just making it, stay away, you won’t be saving any money here.

      Arcadia Power, Inc.

      Date: 01/13/2023

Hi Mikey, we’re sorry to hear of your experience. Arcadia currently has active representatives on the ground in states around the U.S. where homeowners are eligible for Community Solar. Each state has its own program and each member that signs up with Arcadia in these eligible areas has the opportunity to receive savings on their monthly utility bill. There are no sign-up or cancellation fees. The process to receive savings on their monthly utility bill is as simple as signing up with Arcadia and once their solar project starts producing power, that’s when the member starts receiving savings.

You will be charged a subscription fee by Arcadia on top of your utility bill. They have been adding $30 a month to my actual utility bill and then giving me a "credit" of a couple of dollars. I don't recall signing up for this scam. I am making a complaint to the MD Public Utilities Commission. I have asked to cancel the agreement and it says it will take 90 days during which I must continue to pay the subscription fee. I am on a fixed income and can't afford this.

      Arcadia Power, Inc.

      Date: 01/13/2023

Hi Bryan, we’re sorry to hear of your experience and would be glad to make it right.

To clarify, your Arcadia membership does not have any additional cost. Instead, you first receive a credit on your monthly utility billing equal to the total production value of your Community Solar subscription. Then, you keep a particular portion of that value (5%) as your solar savings. The remaining 95% is owed back to the solar developer for project maintenance and operation costs. Overall, this is still a savings to you.

It does take a period of 90 days to process unenrollment from a Community Solar project due to the administrative timing needed.

After being a customer with Arcadia for 18 months (been enrolled in a community solar project for about a year) I have paid $1200 more in electricity than I would have through Ameren, according to our calculations. After reaching out to Archadia support, their story continued to change as we asked questions trying to understand the billing. I have asked for account cancellation and am hoping that it goes quickly and smoothly,

      Arcadia Power, Inc.

      Date: 01/12/2023

Hi Adam, we’re sorry to hear of your experience and would be glad to make it right.
As a confirmation, your Arcadia membership is free and your Community Solar enrollment has resulted in a reduction of the amount displayed as due on your Ameren billing.
Arcadia’s role is to ensure that you keep a 10% savings portion of the total Community Solar production value while the remaining 90% is owed back to the solar farm for maintenance and operation. This means that the 90% portion is included on the corresponding Arcadia statement, but does not exceed the actual current usage charges.

Don’t do it. They didn’t tell me they were going to charge me about $50 a month over my BGE bill for “maintenance.” This was never explained to me. Also I canceled and their saying it will take 90 days, which basically means their going to take another 150 from me before I get let out of the program. I’m extremely disappointed and upset for people who get conned into this.

      Arcadia Power, Inc.

      Date: 01/12/2023

Hi Ashley, we’re sorry to hear of your experience and would be glad to make it right.
To confirm, there are no additional costs associated with Community Solar. Instead, members receive a credit on their BGE bills that is the total production value of their Community Solar subscription. This reduces the amount displayed as due on their BGE bills.
Then, members retain only a certain percentage of that production value as their solar savings. In your case, that would be 5%. The remaining portion is owed back to the Community Solar farm for project maintenance and operation, but is not an additional amount.
