I thought this was a good idea, until they jack your rates, have confusing explanations of how they arrived at your bill and then it takes 90 days to cancel. My bills don't make sense. I just had the lowest minth of kWh usage, yet my bill was higher than previous months with far more usage.
This was there explanation and I feel like I'm being gaslit..
This month, your PEPCO MD bill included credit from our Community Solar program, and it appears your credit was larger than anticipated. Since you have to return 95% of every credit you earn to the solar farm you're connected to, the charges on your Arcadia statement included 95% of your $150.89 solar credit.
You'll be carrying an excess credit into next month which will reduce your PEPCO MD charges for next month.
Since you received $150.89 in credit on your most recent bill and only returned $143.35 of that credit, Community Solar actually helped you save $7.54 this month.
Also currently, you are enrolled in our Legacy Membership/ Premium plan, under which you are charged 1.5c/kWh to match 100% of your usage with the wind. Ex: 555 kWh = $8.33 (555 x 0.015) of a wind charge, which was included in your current monthly statement.
Your Arcadia Statement: Since you don't have any actual balance to pay forward you are just going to pay the solar farm developer $143.35+ $8.33 = $151.68.
Unfortunately, when enrolled in Community Solar, your billing will depend on the amount of credit you receive from the energy your solar panels produce. In some instances, especially in the summer when your solar panels are producing the most energy they will all year, you may end up in a position where your solar credits are larger than your actual electricity charges for the month. This caused a higher-than-expected bill.
However, you are still saving, it's just that a portion of your savings is tied up on your utility credit balance to be applied to future electricy costs.

Bait and Switch. Signed up 4 accounts 5+ years ago and was happy, later decided to do the $5/flat wind option, set it and forget it billing, come to find out they have been charging me $30+/month on each of my 4 accounts for the "$5/flat wind program", this is a 30-40%+ addition to my power bills, plus they had added a $5/month membership fee without any notice or notification. Over $100/month stolen in whatever BS they claim for over 2 years. When I emailed to ask why I was being charge $30+ for the $5 wind program they said "you cant cancel your membership without terminating your account because there isnt solar in your state" What? Im not on solar, Im asking about the $5-thats-being-billed-$30-wind-program, but by ALL MEANS, stop the $5/month membership that I was never made aware of either and terminate my account at this point. Thieves.

I was with another energy Co. for many years, before Arcadia reps approached me one day in summer of 2021. They claimed they'll save me more than that Co., and like other victims fell for this. For a while it seemed like it was saving me a few dollars here and there but not much more than the other Co. But then my bills suddenly all doubled from mid $40s to $90s as Fall 2022 came. The bill I was receiving from Arcadia was double that of the bill notice from my main utility Co. which did not make any sense. I called Arcadia, and their explanation is the that the $40+ charge goes to the Solar Community...WTH? So, now they're charging me to use the solar community? Why would I pay double my utility bill to get a 5% discount. The math does not work out. So cancelled and they stated it will be a 90 days before the account cancellation is finalized. So now, I get taken for another 3 months. This is a huge Bait & Switch tactic if I've ever seen one. STAY AWAY FROM ARCADIA SOLAR.

Honestly, one of the worst companies I have worked with in my life. It's a sham, don't sign up, will only leave you with headaches, wasted time, and, at worst, penalties and fees owed to your electric (or gas even) service provider.
I signed up with Arcadia in January of 2022, expecting to "save up to 10%" on my monthly bill. I know start up could take a month or two due to finding an available spot. I received multiple emails updating that they've "found me a spot," but as to this date October 2022, I have not received any credits. No it's actually worse than this.
In Sept 2022, I was notified by Arcadia that my utility information (I have National Grid) needed to be updated so that Arcadia could sync with National Grid. This was triggered by National Grid, making an update to their system, in which the Electric and Gas utilities combined into one online portal, it used to be two separate. With this came an updated user name and password.
In the process of changing my password with NG, I discovered that I was not receiving password reset emails, from NG, this includes updates for my gas bill. After working with NG, I figured out that Arcadia, was receiving the password reset emails. Now, this is in the agreement you sign, however, my understanding is and was that this should only be for my electric account notifications, not my gas.
I contact Arcadia that I need help recovering my passwords as they are getting and not forwarding me email notifications from my utility for both now gas and electric. After a lengthy wait for a customer service response (about a week), I was told that Arcadia, would use the email and reset the password for me. Anyway, nothing ever actually came of that "solve," and I am still waiting for Arcadia help almost two months from my origional. I have contacted NG, to see if they can reset my email notifications to my personal email. All the while, I still get emails from Arcadia, that my utility information is not syncing... duh.

Just got a bill for $266 for using 299kwh of electricity. national Grid was only charging me $68.14 but Arcadia hammered me with a bill of $266. No savings there, this service cost me more then 3 times what the utility company would charge. Will be calling to cancel this service as soon as they open and will likely have to dispute the charge to my credit card company. This really sad, I though I was doing the right thing and did save a few dollars each month. My total savings and then some are gone now.

This company hired an untrained sales staff of you g people from the inner city to spread lies and make false claims to my self and my 95 year old father. There were actually 5 people in my father's house when I arrived. They were surrounding him at his dinner table, and he was so scared and confused that he agreed to anything they said just to get them to leave. This is outrageous behavior, and borders on criminality. I can't wait for a bill to show up so I can alert the authorities.

Not a money saving deal at all. They added a solar farm charge of 90$ to my account, making my bill more than double what I used to pay. Was not expecting that at all.

Horrible scam of a company. They say it takes 90 days to cancel so you’re paying for something that someone else is living in and using. Would give a 0 if that was possible. This company should be ashamed of what they are doing to families.

Just got one of these bozos at my door (in Massachusetts.) Exactly the same thing as it was a few years back when they came. Bad laminated copies of the kind of 'junk mail' inserts you get with your bill about how to save power and what they're doing for the environment which MAY look 'important' to someone less skeptical. Badges with Arcadia on them, no official anything from Eversource. He tried with a compliment on the obviously crappy t-shirt I was wearing, lol.
Told him I had received no notification from Eversource about it and did not feel comfortable showing him my bill (which has been paperless for years...)
