I must say that Arcadia has responded to my concerns with promptness, courtesy and professionalism. However, I found trying to sign up was a nightmare. I received many emails telling me to complete the process when I already had. They seemed to have difficulty accepting my password and it was reset numerous times. Later, when I tried to log into my account, my email and/or password was not recognized. Because of this plus all the other issues I had, I cancelled the service, which was very easy, I might add. I found the whole procedure to be confusing and difficult. MCG

I never experience an increase in cost. That being said, I never has a decrease in cost, given that I waited around a year to actually be assigned a solar farm, and never got one because there just wasn't any available. I signed up for solar energy and never got it, and by the end of that year I was moving out and the energy bill was no longer going to be in my name so I had to cancel.

You do need to give 90 days notice to cancel with them FYI.

They aren't a scam, I would say they are just more inconvienent and probably still figuring out how to best spread solar energy.

They are a buisness so they do have a goal of making money, but they are doing it in a pretty cool way by trying to spread more solar energy.

My advice for them as a buisness would be to make it easier to cancel and go easy on the recruiting staff. Because making it hard to cancel and pressuring people into getting it are the things that make it feel like a scam.

My advice for customers would be sign up for Arcadia only if you have a lot of patience because they seem desperate to keep there customers, the first time I emailed them to cancel they kind of responded with "you could cancel later!" so I had to email again and ask to cancel now.

Hi Brian, thank you for the feedback. It does take some time to get on a project depending on your state, and availability on projects.
The cancellation period is the time it takes for the solar developer and utility company to fully process your un-enrollment from the Community Solar project. This timeline accounts for your account’s specific billing cycle, as well as the amount of time it actually takes for the utility to cease applying solar savings to your account. This cancellation timeline was presented in your Community Solar terms, agreed to at enrollment.
Community Solar cancel periods are dependent on your state; our Support site has articles for each state’s Community Solar cancel period:

Worked with a sales rep who said I would see bills cut in half. Not only am i not seeing a cost savings, they locked me out of my account and changed the email address I had on file so I could not get into it, In addition to this, they set me up for autopay which was not authorized.

I got an email saying that I wont have a solar farm until mine is constructed in april of 2024. Until then I have to hang tight and pay standard offer at 17 cents.

I tried to cancel and they said it would be 3 months. called CMP about the unauthorized changes to my account and they are now locked out :)

I am absolutely appalled at this business. We were told and marketed that by paying our power bill with Arcadia, we would LOWER our power bill. My bill has gone up 300%-500% month over month. Absolutely absurd, and I will be taking further actions.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

Hi Andrew, we’re sorry to hear of your experience. We value your input and are always eager to enhance our customers' experiences.
Through Community Solar, customers receive a credit applied to their utility bills equal to the total production value of their Community Solar subscription. All customers enrolled in Community Solar get to keep a certain portion of the savings generated by their portion of the solar projects. The remaining portion goes back to the developer to maintain your project. This results in a savings overall to your billing, as you are keeping a portion of a credit value that you otherwise would not have access to. It looks like you have already spoken with our team about your current statement and Community Solar credits.
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out and email us at ******************* or call us at ************ (9am-7pm EST, Mon-Fri). Thanks for reaching out!

Just had an Arcadia rep at my door, I pointed to my BIG "No Soliciting" sign, he keeps rambling on telling me hes not selling anything, then keeps talking, so I then told him "No Thanks" he finally walked away.

A man came to my house today and didn't say who he was or where he was from. He said I must not have seen the news because he was here to get me a credit from BGE because I was paying too much. He asked to see my bill from BGE. Just seemed like a scammer, so my husband chased him off. We have a "No Soliciting" sign right by our front door. Maybe he doesn't know what that means or just didn't care.

A couple of the representatives came to my door today and they were so nice. They explained that Arcadia would provide credits to me via my National Grid bill if I qualified, which I apparently did. However, after several minutes of answering questions, they asked me to enter my credit card info on their website. I questioned it and they said it was just to make sure I have a valid payment method. Why would I need a payment method to receive credits on my National Grid bill? They never said they were trying to sell me something. I figured that out after sending them away and looking them up online. Arcadia needs to train better and be up front about what it is they are trying to do. Again, the two young men were super nice but as soon as they asked for a credit card for no apparent reason, I thought it was a scam. Arcadia needs to read 15 U.S.C. 45 - Unfair or Deceptive Acts or Practices.

The company misrepresents their services in the marketing program. They say they are saving us on our energty bill, but in actuality, charging us 90% of the solar farm production fee which has caused me to pay DOUBLE for energy. This is not a savings. This is a further cost. This seems illegal. I will look into it further.

Hi Nancy, thanks so much for sharing your feedback here. We’re very sorry that your experience didn’t live up to expectations. All customers enrolled in Community Solar get to keep a certain portion of the savings generated by their portion of the solar projects. The remaining portion goes back to the developer as a fee to maintain your project. However, the fee is always less than the total Community Solar credit you receive.

If you have any more questions, feel free to either email our team at [email protected] or call us at (866) 526-0083 between 9am and 7pm EST, Mondays through Fridays. We’re here to help!

Yesterday a door-to-door rep gave me his presentation, but I said I’d have to look at reviews (which were awful). Today he came back and when I said we weren’t interested, he got hostile and threatening. He started swearing at me and gave me the finger. It was unhinged

Hi David, we are sorry to hear of the poor experience you had with one of our door-to-door representatives. We would like to hear more about this incident if you are able to email [email protected]. It is expected of our agents to represent Arcadia clearly so there is complete confidence in enrollment for our customers.
Arcadia currently has active representatives on the ground in states around the U.S. where homeowners are eligible for Community Solar. Each state has its own program and each customer that signs up with Arcadia in these eligible areas has the opportunity to receive savings on their monthly utility bill. There are no sign-up or cancellation fees. The process to receive savings on their monthly utility bill is as simple as signing up with Arcadia. Once their solar project starts producing power, the customer starts receiving savings.
Arcadia does everything it can to be clear and transparent with our customers and prospective customers. We are sorry to hear about your experience with one of our representatives and we appreciate your feedback as we’re always looking for more ways to improve our customer communications, as well as sign up experience. We have escalated this sales feedback to the appropriate party. Thank you.
