I support renewable Energy. I give Arcadia five stars because of the superb communication skills the representative Jeremy provided me at my home. My friend has had Arcadia for years so I already knew about the community solar savings program. I would go green with Arcadia even if they didn’t provide me a 5-10% average monthly guaranteed savings each month. I can’t wait for my slot to get for filled. These bad reviews must be from people who are passed due on their bill, I can see how that can screw things on on their first billing cycle with the discount. Anyways, thanks again

I have to agree with Ralph G's comment below. I work in finance for a mega corporation and deal with utility bills constantly. Arcadia's billing system is incredibly complex and confusing. This past month, my utility bill showed that I had usage equal to roughly $30. Arcadia billed me for $55, resulting in them receiving $25 extra, or 83% more than what my utility bill showed that I owed. When I contacted the utility company, I was told I had credits on my account over -$110. When I reached out to Arcadia, they told me they are entitled to 95% of the credits on my account and that the remaining 5% would come back to me via a lower Arcadia bill next month. When someone is over-billed for their utilities by 83%, it's always going to result in a credit balance and I don't understand why Arcadia would then get to receive 95% of my credit. This has been happening for the past several months and I'm glad I am finally starting to request copies of my own utility usage so I can get to the bottom of this.

Arcadia Energy seemed fine at first, but then we received a bill that was 3x of our average bill and also 3x what our local utility company was actually billing for that month. We called them multiple times to figure out what was happening. Each time the reps were pleasant, but could not explain why, in layman's terms, we had such a large increase for the one month. We were told we should not receive a bill the following month, given that we now had "credits", but did, in fact, we receive a bill the following month. Without getting to some level or resolve, and without any certainty that we wouldn't get hit with another oversized bill in the future, we decided to cancel our service and look for another community solar provider. Arcadia is now telling us that there is a 90-day cancellation policy. After attempting to work things out with them, we now feel we must fight them on the bill and this cancellation 90-day policy, which we do not remember being notified of at the beginning of our service.

After being welcomed upon enrolling and submitting a payment method, I just contacted Acadia to get a sense of when I would be starting, 'then' they said I was not eligible due to low threshold (not true with bills over $200/mo). And a second email reply said I did not complete the application although that was not true either ( payment method approved, welcome emails received). So despite a few emails trying to clarify, Arcadia never acknowledged that you made any error or miscommunication or suggested how to rectify the problem. Seemed they didn't really read my emails or care to resolve the problem. Responses appeared almost auto/bot generated they were so not responding to my questions or concerns. I was even told by a rep that they would research and get back to me the next day. They never did. I finally just cancelled which after two more emails they finally did..one star for that.

The absolute worst customer service. When you first sign up, they promise to make things seamless between you and Central Hudson. In reality, when your bill skyrockets and you can find nothing online b/c their website and "bills" are a joke with zero detail, they scream at you when you call and ask how it's possible for your energy usage to go from 192 kw to 2477 kw. The agent I just spoke to was literally SCREAMING at me and would not stop interrupting me and when I told her to stop yelling she gave me the ridiculous excuse of "maybe my microphone is too close" which seemed to strangely happen any time I asked her why Arcadia offers no assistance in figuring out these wild swings in usage. She kept explaining to me, like I was an idiot, that it's all Central Hudson's fault. Again, their business presents itself as the go-between, so I expect them to be able to provide me accurate information, not just pass the buck. A terrible company and it's extremely frustrating to have to wait three months to cancel.

More or less a scam. Signed on with them last year to explore being part of a solar farm. After a few months I found that my utility bill was delinquent and "overdue" for three months and they never remitted payments to the utility that they had already charged me for. They hijack your utility account so you cannot see the billing directly. I found out they were also absorbing an unreasonable amount of "savings" credited from the utility company for my being solar and crediting me pennies on a dollar on the inflated invoices I was receiving from them instead.

I requested cancelation of my services back in January and they are still harassing me and just put through yet another unknown charge to my card yesterday. 4 months later.

It's impossible to get rid of them.

Total scam. Door to door sales people came by trying to imply that they were part of BG&E. Told my wife that we should be getting a community dollar credit as a come on to try to extract information about our account. AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE !

Total ripoff they say it takes 90-180 days to cancel so they can connect with RI energy to complete process. Biggest mistake I made switching to them. There is no breakdown on there billing and when you speak with them it's all goblygook

Hi Richard, thank you for sharing your feedback.
The cancellation period communicated is the time it takes for the solar developer and utility company to fully process your un-enrollment from the Community Solar project. This timeline accounts for your account’s specific billing cycle, as well as the amount of time it takes for the utility to cease applying solar savings to your account. This cancellation timeline was presented in your Community Solar terms, agreed to at enrollment.
Community Solar cancellation periods are dependent on your state; our Support site has articles for each state’s Community Solar cancellation period:

Arcadia's community solar program over allocated credits to my account by 100% for 6 months straight, causing me to overpay the utility by nearly $700, double what my actual usage charges were. This is despite my having called them multiple times demanding they reduce the amount of credits they were allocating to me. Then when I moved with this credit balance an agent sent me copy pasta about how the credits were not transferrable to my new address. Thankfully I was able to get the credits transferred by contacting the utility directly, but all this company cares about is getting your $$$$. Not worth the hassle, avoid them.

Hi Ralph, we’re sorry to hear of your experience. It sounds like you may be enrolled in our Community Solar program. All members enrolled in Community Solar get to keep a certain portion of the savings generated by their portion of the solar projects. The remaining amount of savings goes back to the solar developer to maintain the project.
If the application of savings credits has resulted in a credit balance on your utility account, that balance is ultimately yours to keep and will apply to charges with your utility over time until used in full. The management of the credit balance is with your utility provider, so we are glad to hear that this credit value was transferred as desired.
To discuss account-specific information, you are welcome to reach out over email at [email protected] or to give us a call at 866-526-0083 from 9am to 7pm EST, Monday through Friday. All the best.

The representative spoke to me about lowering my monthly payment, then proceeded to sign me up and agree to multiple terms and conditions without me even knowing. When I said I didn’t want it he said the only way to cancel is to call customer service and left. This is illegal.
