************ signed up for clean energy at $.05/kwH for 12 months. So I am happy. I did not sign up for the variable rate which is higher. However I do not like the mail that they send out frequently - in it they look like a completely different company.CleanChoice Energy Inc

I signed up for Clean Choice. Honestly I don't remember or didn't look into their rate. Then the bills came in and they were more than double what NYSEG was changing. 14 cents per Kwhr! Are they crazy? I am paying $130 more a month for them. So I cancelled and switched back to NYSEG. They compared it to buying organic fruit. At this rate they will be out of business soon.CleanChoice Energy Inc

Thank you ****** for reaching out to us regarding your CleanChoice Energy account. I am sorry to hear that your experience with our company has not been a positive one, as this is never the experience we wish for you to have. Our records indicate you enrolled with CleanChoice on a variable rate via mail in February 2024. We offer a variety of plans, both variable and fixed, to meet the different needs of our customers. While sometimes variable plans can offer a lower rate (which customers love), they do run the risk of rising as well. We receive new rate plans every month and are always more than happy to review them with our customers at any time. Reviewing your account, we show that it has been cancelled as requested and have confirmed a cancellation date of 5/23/24. This will serve as the drop date from CleanChoice Energy. Thank you for the time you supported clean energy with us. Please feel free to reach out if you should have any further questions or concerns. We may be reached at: **************. I signed up over 3 months ago and they keep telling me National Grid needs to approve it. National grid doesn't see anything from them in the system or they would approve it. I called clean choice at least 7 times and get a different answer everytime. Now they are saying my electric bill account number is not right and to call National Grid. How can this be when I pay my monthly bill on the account number that is on my bill. They also offered me a $100 **** card. Never received this either. This company is a scam do not sign up for it.CleanChoice Energy Inc

Thank you ***** for sharing your feedback with us. Reviewing your recent enrollment information, your request was unable to be completed due to providing an incorrect account number. Upon enrollment with **********************, we submit all information to the utility company for approval. This allows them to update the supplier portion of your monthly invoice to reflect CleanChoice as the supplier. Without the proper account number provided, the utility company was unable to make this change. National Grid uses a 10 digit account number, and this can be found at the top of your bill on page 1 directly underneath the Billing Period information. In terms of promotions, CleanChoice often runs promotions, but accounts must activate first in order to qualify. Please feel free to reach out to us if you should ever have any questions or concerns. It is *** and I have been a CleanChoice Energy customer since the beginning of the year, ~5 months. I read the negative reviews and all I can figure is that people really don't know how to read contracts, pay attention to the print, or respond properly to notices when they receive them.We bought a brand new house at the end of 2023. I did not listen to the advocate on the phone when I called Penelec to have the utility switched to my name. He suggested staying on the line and listening to rates for other energy providers in the area. I wish I would have, because Penelec was charging $0.11/kWh. My electric bill for the first full month (actual first month was prorated) was $360. I immediately went on Penelec's site and looked at switching. CleanChoice was one of the cheapest providers at $0.06/kWh and at a 100% renewable efficiency. It was a no-brainer. No contracts, no special terms, and no cancellation fees. Not only was switching as simple as using the account number on my Penelec bill and choosing to switch on the site (LITERALLY that simple), my new provider started at the end of the current billing cycle. My electric bill has gone down to $170/mo, and that's with electric heating/cooling. Seriously couldn't be happier.***be my experience was better because of the way I switched? I never dealt with reps or advocates from CleanChoice. I don't know how it works for other states, but in ************ you have Penelec and PPL in central ** as your delivery infrastructure. You still have to pay them a fee since you're using their infrastructure, but they should have a site where you can look at other energy providers. I highly recommend doing it that way. Will my rates change? ***be, maybe not. For now, all I can say is that a family of 3 hasn't cost me a bill over $200 yet. I will do the smart thing that I think too many people neglect, and that is PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR BILLS AND NOTIFICATIONS FROM THE COMPANY. Don't spin your negligence as bad business.CleanChoice Energy Inc

I am on my second year as a CleanChoice customer, having recently renewed for an additional two years. I have read many of the negative reviews, I can only say what my experience has been. CleanChoice offered a rate significantly less than National Grid, our former supplier. The changeover to CC was seamless. I was contacted by customer support immediately upon sign up. A year later we were notified 30 days before the end of contract about renewal. Again, their price was less than National Grid, and I was offered a lower price for signing up for 2 years. I have nothing but good things to say. My neighbor, who told us about CC is a happy customer as well, having the same positive experience as us.CleanChoice Energy Inc

1 starThey sent a sales man into my elderly disabled and visually impaired grandmothers apartment building around 8pm, bullied there way into her apartment and tried to get her to sign up, she declined but they still signed her up (took the national grind bill right from her kitchen table) I called and complained to to have it removed (back in December) they apologized and assured me it was fixed, but it was not. they continued bill her. she had fuel assistance and is disabled and on a fixed income and they collected all the fuel assistance fraudulently AFTER I called to cancel them, when they never had permission to sign her up in the first place. Its highly dishonest to and illegal to steal from blind old people, and then when confronted lie about it. you should return the money you stole.Review fromStephanie F
