    They are a legitimate firm founded by a PE firm with ex I-bankers so you get what you pay for. I have had them for well over 5 years and probably closer to 10 years - assuming they would price their energy sourcing competitively. As soon as I found a better (local town sponsored sourcing of 100% renewable energy). My cost went from $0.44 with CleanChoice down to $0.17!!!
    What is even more surprising is that as soon as CleanChoice saw I was moving the business, they came back with a form letter offering 12 months at $0.17.
    SO WHERE WERE THEY FOR THE PAST 5-10 YEARS??!! Basically over charging me due to the fact that they could.
    Certainly not illegal - but not very ethical either.

In addition to your variable rate, you also experienced increased electricity usage, in which your usage went from approximately 1100 kWh's to almost 3000 kWh's per month. We offer a variety of plans, both variable and fixed, to meet the different needs of our customers. While sometimes variable plans can offer a lower rate (which customers love), they do run the risk of rising as well. We receive new rate plans every month and are always more than happy to review them with our customers at any time. There are never fees to make changes to your account and "shopping" with us is one of our biggest benefits. Reviewing your account, we show that it has been cancelled as requested and have confirmed a cancellation date of 3/11/24. This will serve as the drop date from CleanChoice Energy.     This company’s sales reps are knocking on the doors and saying that they come from the main distributor(Eversource)
    And they ask for the electric bills. My wife was at home and she cannot speak English. She called me and told that Eversource Reps are here to see our Electric Bills of they went up.
    Then I sent the screenshot of the bill to my wife.
    15 mins later I got the enrollment email.
    They enrolled my wife into Clean Choice Energy. But the bill is not even under her name. I wanted to cancel by email but nobody reached out so far.

    My electricity bill nearly tripled. Took me way too long to figure out why. This company promises green, renewable energy at reasonable rates. Instead, they absolutely gouge their customers.

    I hadn’t been paying close attention to my energy bill until the last one (1/5/24) for $810. Started to look closely at last year of bills and the kWh rate went from .066 (3/23) to .316! When I called to inquire, the representative was able to drop the rate for the next 12 months to .106 and initially offered to give me a $200 ‘gift card’ which she reluctantly raised to $250 with my insistence. As a small business owner, I’d be ashamed to run an enterprise this way. Obviously they’ve already ripped me off for hundreds of dollars. They’ve lost any trust i had and will look for another supplier, even if it cost more than the .106 they propose to lock me in at. Clean Choice maybe, but Dirty Business definitely!

Towards the end of that contract, we sent a renewal offer to you, should you wish to continue on another 12 month fixed rate. When no response was received, upon contract expiration, this altered your account to a variable rate, as stated in your terms and conditions. CleanChoice offers a variety of plans, both variable and fixed, to meet the different needs of our customers. While sometimes variable plans can offer a lower rate (which customers love), they do run the risk of rising as well. We receive new rate plans every month and are always more than happy to review them with our customers at any time.     Clean Choice has reps that are easy to understand, and go above and beyond. My last interaction secured a lower rate weeks ahead of my renewal date, thanks.

    A warning and an observation.

    1. Warning - it's understandable that in their business model, their rate will vary after a fixed-rate period ends. But their variable rate reached over 50 cents per kwh when the local utility rate was at 15 - 20 cents for clean energy.

    Despite their comment below in response to a similar experience - that the variable plans "do run the risk of rising" - that is usury, not market pricing. When I contacted our local utility company to figure out why my monthly bills had gone from $150 to over $400, the rep LITERALLY GASPED when I shared the rate Clean Choice was charging.

    Clean Choice's customer service representative was helpful and professional when I called to cancel, which I appreciate.

    2. Observation - what company bills itself as a champion of the environment, but incessantly markets with junk snail mail after I cancelled?!? Give me a break.

    I have told this company that I am not interested in switching to this company. They have called me 75 times. I have hung up on them, didn’t answer my phone (left no messages) and blocked all the numbers and even mailed back a Second Attempt letter writing in black marker across the Authorization Form that I am NOT INTERESTED and to stop calling me. I am on a DO NOT CALL list. They just keep calling me. I got another Second Attempt letter in today’s mail. I am hoping by making a BBB complaint they will get the hint of not being interested and to stop calling me before I have to take other actions. Since I am on a DO NOT CALL list they are breaking the law and owes me $7500
